Li Peiyu transmigrated into a villainous Cannon Fodder, then, fueled by alcohol, spent a night of passion with Lu Yuzhi, the male lead's adoptive father and CEO of Lu's Group.
Their s...
"A new relationship? Oh, right, Lin Wanwan. Wait for my good news, I'll definitely make them a couple." Hope rekindled in Li Peiyu's eyes.
"Do you have any good ideas?" Lu Yu asked expectantly.
“Yes, I’ll have Gu Yan move into my little apartment too. That way, he and Lin Wanwan will be together all the time, and maybe sparks will fly between them,” Li Peiyu said excitedly, outlining her plan.
"Good idea. Then you won't be going home, will you?" Lu Yuzhi asked with a sly, expectant look.
"Sigh, I'll go take care of this first. I'll take the high-speed train home tonight. I need to make room for Gu Yan and Lin Wanwan."
"Then I'll take you there."
"OK."
There were still two whole blocks to go before Lu Yuzhi dared not go any further. He knew that if they went any further, their affair would be easily discovered.
"Complete the tasks assigned to you by the organization well. There will be a reward." Lu Yuzhi said gently, pressing Li Peiyu's forehead lightly, and then affectionately kissing her.
"Wait for my good news. I'll definitely get Gu Yan to bring your daughter-in-law home." Li Peiyu winked playfully, her face beaming with a confident smile, as if she could already see the harmonious family of four: herself, Lu Yuzhi, Gu Yan, and Lin Wanwan.
After Li Peiyu left, Lu Yuzhi called Qiao An and said, "Secretary Qiao, make a golden statue of a Bodhisattva and then choose a temple to enshrine it."
How can I break my promise to the Bodhisattva?
"Okay, I'll get it done right away." Secretary Qiao replied hastily, then put down the stick he was swinging, his face full of confusion and surprise.
What's wrong with Mr. Lu? When did he become so devout in his faith in Buddha?
Lu Yuzhi's voice rang out again, "Investigate who drugged Li Peiyu at the NICE bar last night. I want one of their fingers."
Qiao An paused for a moment. It seemed that President Lu knew about Li Peiyu being drugged. She was the one who drugged her; she wouldn't cut off her own finger. Qiao An looked at the kneeling man before her and smiled—a ready-made scapegoat.
Then, Secretary Qiao continued to swing the stick mercilessly and beat the man kneeling on the ground.
The man's hands were tightly bound, leaving him powerless to resist. Standing next to him was the boss of the Fifth Dimension, a silver-haired man named Qi Juechen, who was involved in the underworld and occasionally dealt with some fools for Lu Yuzhi.
The man kept begging for mercy, his voice trembling with tears: "Secretary Qiao, I won't do it again, Secretary Qiao."
Secretary Qiao straightened her business attire, adjusted her black-rimmed glasses, her ponytail slightly disheveled, and her eyes flashed with ruthlessness as she said sharply, "You dare to play tricks on President Lu? You're really asking for it."
"Secretary Qiao, I know I was wrong, please spare me, I won't do it again." The man pleaded in fear, tears streaming down his face.
"Confess! How much money have you embezzled from the company over the years? If you dare to lie, I'll sell your wife and daughter to Thailand," Secretary Qiao threatened sternly.
"No, Secretary Qiao, I'll tell you everything." The man trembled with fear and dared not hide anything any longer, and began to confess everything in detail.
Secretary Qiao listened to the man's instructions, nodding occasionally with a satisfied expression.
“Leave one finger behind, go to the police station and turn yourself in. Tell the police what you did again,” Secretary Qiao said coldly.
It's common for senior executives in large corporations to embezzle company funds, but they're usually very cautious. If you call the police directly, they're as slippery as eels and know how to extricate themselves. So, it's better to teach them a lesson on their behalf first, saving the police from wasting their breath, since they're quite busy too.
Then, the man was dragged away without mercy by Qi Juechen's men, leaving a drag mark on the ground.
"Sister, you look so charming when you swing your arms." Qi Juechen said with a smirk.
"Little Chenzi, would you say I'm an all-around secretary?" Qiao An raised an eyebrow, a hint of pride in her eyes.
"Of course, my sister is skilled in both literature and martial arts." As he spoke, Qi Juechen solicitously lifted Qiao An's hand and carefully massaged it for her.
Joanne quickly withdrew her hand and said coldly, "I have other things to do."
"Qiao An, stop staring at Yu-ge all the time. Look at me once in a while. Aren't I handsome?" Qi Juechen's eyes were full of flirtatiousness.
"Lu Yuzhi is my god, what are you?" Qiao An said without looking back, then resolutely turned and left.
Qi Juechen watched Qiao An's departing figure helplessly, and could only sigh to himself, muttering, "This woman is really infatuated."
Back to Li Peiyu, she hurriedly returned to her small apartment. As soon as she entered, she saw Gu Yan and Wang Boyang sitting at the dining table, facing each other and staring at each other menacingly.
Guo Jiahe stood next to Wang Boyang and glared at Gu Yan, saying, "Don't you dare send Wang Boyang away, he's an amazing cook."
Wang Boyang looked at Gu Yan with a provocative smile.
"Look at you, so pathetic, you're going to give up over a single meal." Gu Yan glared fiercely at Wang Boyang, the atmosphere tense as if it were about to explode.
Seeing Li Peiyu finally return, Gu Yan suddenly stood up, his face full of accusation, "What's he doing at your house?"
“Gu Yan, stop messing around. This isn’t my house. I rented it for Guo Jiahe and Lin Wanwan,” Li Peiyu explained helplessly. “If you want to stay here, you can. Wang Boyang will be in charge of cooking, and you will be in charge of cleaning.”
Guo Jiahe couldn't help but chuckle, "I like this arrangement."
"Then I want to sleep in the same room as you," Gu Yan said eagerly.
"You're overthinking it. I don't live here." Li Peiyu rolled her eyes at him.
