CompletedPriestess Medusa lay disheveled in Athena's temple. In that instant, she saw her future.
Poseidon, God of the Sea, had defiled her chastity and then abandoned her. The goddess Athena, believing that she, Medusa, was gravely sinful for surviving, transformed her into a hideous Gorgon with snake hair.
The demigod Perseus would later sever her head and offer it to Athena. Medusa suddenly opened her eyes, seeing the satiated yet despicable Sea God before her, and realized that to these deities, she was merely an ant to be crushed at any moment.
So, the originally innocent maiden, with eyes like silk, lightly extended her hand to grasp His robes, hiding her burning rage within her seemingly gentle eyes.
"Respected and mighty Sea God, please take me with you." Only then could she step on His shoulders to exact revenge on everyone.
Later, as Medusa gracefully traversed the peak of Olympus, calmly witnessing the decline of the once powerful and prosperous gods—the short-tempered and irritable Poseidon bowed his arrogant head to her, only craving a single glance from her.
The sanctimonious goddess Athena clenched her powerless fists, having long lost the radiance of the Goddess of War and Wisdom, and despairingly closed her eyes.
The ignorant demigod Perseus, in turn, became Medusa's most useful blade, clearing her path and breaking through all obstacles.
...And the root of it all was simply an ant's refusal to die without a fight.
