"Ouch? That hurts!"
Jin Jianzhong slowly opened his eyes, rubbing his slightly swollen cheeks, groaning incessantly.
My gaze shifted, and I saw sunlight streaming in through the window, illuminating the room brightly. I was lying on the bed.
Jin Jianzhong touched the blanket covering him, his brows furrowed.
"...When did I get back to bed? What happened last night...?"
He muttered to himself, his head spinning from the hangover. He only vaguely remembered that he seemed to be chasing Qing'er last night, and he couldn't remember anything else that happened after that.
"Someone come here!" He sat up, shook his head, and called out.
Soon, a maid pushed open the door and entered:
"Your Highness, you're awake. Let me help you change your clothes."
Jin Jianzhong threw back the covers, sat down on the edge of the bed, and asked, "When did I get back to the room?"
"It's late at night, Your Highness," the maid said as she helped him change.
Jin Jianzhong pinched the bridge of his nose, frowned, and said "Oh".
"By the way, Your Highness, the guests are waiting for you in the side hall. I saw that you went to bed late, so I didn't wake you up," the maid whispered.
"Oh dear! You overslept! You brat, how can you be so rude!"
"They are friends I made overseas, people of high status. You should have woken me up sooner, how could you make such a mistake!"
Jin Jianzhong's face darkened with anger. He pushed the maid aside and hurriedly began to put on his clothes.
The maid looked flustered and stood to the side, at a loss for what to do, not daring to speak.
"You idiot! What are you still standing here for? Go and inform them first! I'll be there soon!" Jin Jianzhong scolded angrily.
Upon hearing this, the maid breathed a sigh of relief and hurriedly left the room as if she had been granted a pardon.
A moment later, Jin Jiande left the room and strode towards the side hall.
He didn't want to be impolite to his friends who were here to do big things, lest they harbor resentment and he would need their help in the future.
As he walked along the garden path, he stopped and looked toward the pavilion.
There, a person was leaning against the railing, his bright eyes watching the fish swimming in the shallow pond. His thin face was expressionless, as if he were in a daze.
It was her long-lost younger sister, Jin Changge.
Jin Jianzhong smiled and slowed his pace, tiptoeing as he walked away.
As they approached the pavilion, he suddenly accelerated, lunged forward, and grabbed Jin Changge's slender waist.
But at that moment, Jin Changge suddenly turned around, her delicate face cold, and kicked him in the knee.
With a loud thud, Jin Jianzhong's eyes narrowed, and he fell face-first to the ground.
His handsome face slammed solidly onto the cold wooden board, and even his hat flew off.
"hiss--"
"Ouch! What are you doing!"
Jin Jianzhong lay on the ground, shouting angrily.
"Hmph, what am I doing? And what are you doing?"
Jin Changge's expression was cold and stern, and her eyes beneath her willow-leaf eyebrows were icy, as if she were looking at livestock rather than her own brother.
Jin Jianzhong's face flushed red. He rubbed his face, stood up angrily, and scolded:
"I'm your brother, I'm saying hello!"
"What do you mean by this? You just kicked me? Do you even respect me? What do you take me for?!"
As he spoke, he bent down, rubbed his aching knees, and picked up the hat.
Jin Changge glanced at him sideways and said coldly:
"If you want me to treat you like a human being, then stop doing bad things. You've been away from Dachang for the past two years, haven't you learned anything about how to be a decent human being?"
Jin Jianzhong was brushing the dust off his hat when he heard this. His eyebrows twitched, his thin lips parted to reveal a mouthful of broken teeth, and he roared angrily:
"What nonsense are you spouting? What evil have I done?!"
"Do you think it was easy for me to go overseas? I made friends overseas so that we could work hard together! I even brought you several pieces of foreign clothing."
"The moment we met, you didn't say a single kind word, but started fighting right away! What kind of sister are you?"
Jin Changge frowned and retorted, "Still trying to deny it! You committed a crime in the capital and angered the public, which is why you went abroad. Do you think I've forgotten?"
"You even tried to lay a hand on Qing'er last night, you have absolutely no shame!"
With his secret exposed, and Jin Changge's second half of the sentence reminding Jin Jianzhong of what happened last night, his face flushed red, and he immediately shouted:

"Stop slandering my reputation!"
"I committed a crime? What crime? If I committed a crime, why am I still standing here? Even the emperor is subject to the same punishment as commoners!"
These words enraged Jin Changge, her face growing even colder. She walked towards Jin Jianzhong, rebuking him as she spoke:
"Hmph, you can't remember? Then let me help you recall!"
Seeing that she was about to make a move again, Jin Jianzhong's expression changed.
Although he had learned martial arts, he couldn't even beat his second brother, let alone Yongning, who was even stronger than his second brother.
He immediately stepped back, still shouting:
"Don't say things like that!"
"No matter what, I'm still your third brother! We're family!"
