Chapter 585 Arrogance

“Miss, why did you put the sword under the bed? And isn’t this sword…” Qing’er blinked.

"Yes, His Majesty found it and gave it to me," Jin Changge explained in a barely audible voice, then quickly added, "Alright, stop fooling around, go back to your bed." With that, she got out of bed.

Qing'er's lips gradually curved upwards, and she got out of bed, handed the sword to Jin Changge, then neatly made the bed before pulling Jin Changge onto the bed.

Jin Changge lifted the inner bed cover and put the sword back, but when she turned her head, she saw that Qing'er was already lying on the bed, just lying on her side, supporting her chin with her hand and smiling at her.

Seeing that ambiguous smile, Jin Changge reached out and covered her face: "What are you doing? Aren't you going back?"

Qing'er pushed her hand away, darted inside, hugged her, and chuckled, "If you want to sleep with Miss, you won't have many more opportunities in the future."

"No, the bed is too small. You're making me uncomfortable." Jin Changge twisted her body.

"Miss, you can't talk nonsense. I just have a chubby face, but I'm not fat at all." Qing'er just wouldn't leave, and Jin Changge didn't really want to kick her out, so she gave up.

"Then go to sleep and don't talk anymore," she mumbled with her eyes closed.

"Okay," Qing'er agreed with a smile, lying down next to her.

Jin Changge gradually calmed down. After crying and making a fuss, she was indeed getting tired. In just a short while, she was already drowsy and about to fall asleep.

Qing'er, however, kept her eyes open and turned her head to look at her.

It must have been close to midnight, and all was quiet except for the faint chirping of insects outside the window. Qing'er finally turned around and gently placed her hand on Jin Changge's waist.

After a while, drowsiness gradually crept in, and Qing'er's drooping eyelids slowly closed, but she uttered soft murmurs as if in a dream:

"That's good..."

As she murmured in her sleep, a night breeze blew in through the open window, and the gauze curtains hanging on the bedposts fluttered open.

That night, the two girls in bed slept exceptionally peacefully.

——

Three days later, in the afternoon.

In the area where they were temporarily anchored, ships returning from the nearshore waters finally appeared in Lucat's binoculars.

The adjutant, Leto, also held a binoculars. As he watched the ship approach, a smile gradually spread across his face, followed by a soft chuckle.

"They're back, Marshal."

Unlike Leto's beaming smile, Lucat's expression turned particularly grave after he saw the ship return to port.

He lowered the binoculars and frowned, saying, "They just let them come back like that."

“This doesn’t seem right,” Lucate said, stroking his chin in deep thought.

But then, a whistle sounded from afar, and Leto spoke:

"Marshal, another meeting is about to begin."

Lucate, who was deep in thought, interrupted his thoughts and muttered, "Hmm."

Before long, Lucat led his group onto the ship that was specifically used for meetings, where a number of people were already seated at the table.

He glanced over and saw Augustus standing at the table, arms crossed, talking animatedly.

"I knew those big shots wouldn't dare do anything to them!"

"Although it was two or three days late, it was still sent back, wasn't it?"

Lucate found an empty chair away from Augustus and sat down; he didn't want to get splattered with Augustus's spittle.

But as soon as Lucate sat down, someone else sat down in the empty chair next to him—it was Muller from the Federation Fleet.

'How could it be this guy?!'

Lucate immediately wanted to get up and change seats. Although Muller was always taciturn and didn't bark and howl like that mad dog Augustus, Lucate knew that Muller was a more terrifying man; it was his intuition.

However, Lucate ultimately did not change his seat, since Müller was already sitting next to him, and it would be too offensive to get up and change seats at this point.

At that moment, Müller spoke up.

“This isn’t something that’s being sent back.” He sat in his chair, his gaze fixed on the sea, his gloomy eyes fixed on the ship sailing in their direction.

Augustus was taken aback by this, but then laughed dismissively and said, "With so many of our warships gathered here, would they dare send any more?"

"Hahaha." He laughed as he looked at the others, his gaze lingering on Lucate for a couple of extra moments.

The others simply echoed the sentiment, not daring to say anything else.

August crossed his legs and continued:

"Once Luwang arrives, we'll know his attitude towards this big project as soon as we ask him."

"But it's obvious that Rwanda's return already speaks volumes about their attitude."

"It seems we can go there first without waiting for the Sari Kingdom to arrive."

After he finished speaking, Lucat raised his eyes and glanced at Augustus, cursing inwardly as "idiot."

Not to mention what Luwang and his group went through on this trip, even if the Daqian was really intimidated by what Luwang brought, they still couldn't easily set sail for Nangang.

You should know that this big undertaking was organized and coordinated by the Kingdom of Saar. Although they have not yet arrived, how dare your Kingdom of Hunli say that you want to go to South Port first? This is not only an offense to the Kingdom of Saar, but also a great disregard for the big undertaking.

The navy has already demonstrated some strength, which may be their full power, but it may also be just the tip of the iceberg. Does such a country really make you think it is weak?

Having personally verified the error of the intelligence during this trip, we can no longer label this country as "weak and incompetent." This means we must take it seriously and not let our guard down.

You haven't even called Rwandan up for questioning yet, but you're already thinking about landing.

'Stupid, arrogant, and a rude megalomaniac! You'll pay for this sooner or later!'

Lucate thought to himself, but showed no emotion on his face. He covered his mouth with one hand and just watched the ship approach.

After Augustus finished speaking, he noticed that Muller and Lucat remained silent, while the others all looked submissive. His face immediately fell.

Several days have passed since the last discussion on this ship, but the fleet of the Kingdom of Nasari still hasn't arrived, and there's been no news of Luwan and his group sailing to South Port. Augustus has been getting increasingly impatient these past few days.

Fortunately, Rwanda has finally appeared, and it's time to plan the next steps. I was just tentatively suggesting that we land earlier, but they didn't respond at all.

Are we really going to wait for the people of Sahara to arrive before we start our big operation? How long will that take? They're so late, who knows what kind of trouble they've gotten into? What if we run into storms and are held up for ten or fifteen days? Are we just going to sit here at sea like this? We're consuming fresh water and food every day, aren't we in a hurry at all?

Thinking of this, Augustus turned his head with a cold face and looked at the group of Rwandans who were already being inspected.

The ship had already dropped anchor, and the guards sent out small boats to meet it, but only to pick up the people, not the ship, in order to avoid risks.

At that moment, the guards arrived by boat with Rwan.
