Instead of answering Vincent immediately, Edman shouted:
"Pass on my order: hoist the sails full speed ahead and sail at full speed!"
"The warships not participating in this exercise will remain there! Under Pam's command, they will wait for our return!"
This action made Vincent's heart tighten, and he immediately said, "Commander, we have not yet joined up with the Allied forces. Should we continue sailing towards Yan Kingdom at this time?"
Edman shook his head before slowly explaining, "No, who said we were going to keep sailing towards Yan Kingdom?"
"We're just doing some drills with those Yan Kingdom warships that came in." He grinned, revealing a sinister smile.
He then added, “A storm broke out at sea at the end of the month, and these guys are now almost at Chalme Island. Obviously, they have experienced that storm, and I have reason to believe that they suffered losses in that storm, which is why they are showing up in front of us with one or two hundred warships.”
"I've never heard of the Yan people having any experience with long voyages before, so their voyage this time must just be an adventure of exploration."
"And now, hehe, they have been put to the test of a long voyage."
Vincent nodded repeatedly as he listened.
"They survived the storm, which proves they have a certain ability to sail long distances. Of course, luck also played a part. Unfortunately, they didn't expect our fleet to be behind the storm, so they've used up all their luck."
"Got it, Vincent?" Edman patted Vincent on the shoulder.
Vincent immediately replied, "Understood, Commander!"
"This means we can take advantage of the situation and continue the drills, turning them into real combat. If we can catch up with them, then we can fight them."
“Yes, Vincent.” Edman nodded at him with satisfaction, then added, “Of course, these Yan people are cunning; they set a trap last time.”
“Therefore, we don’t need to pursue them to the end this time. The weather is very good today, and the sea visibility is very clear. If we can also see the Yan Kingdom warships lurking and waiting behind these one or two hundred warships, then we can return directly to Chalmers Island. Of course, the probability of this is almost impossible, but it is worth keeping an eye on,” Edman said with a relaxed expression.
Just then, a soldier in the watchtower shouted, "Commander, they've reappeared in our sights!"
Upon hearing this, Edelman immediately picked up his binoculars and looked out to sea.
Sure enough, he could already see the fleet indistinctly on the distant horizon.
“It seems their sailing technology isn’t very advanced. We’ve closed the distance a bit after we’ve hoisted our sails and sailed at full speed. This hunt is going to get interesting.” Edman pursed his lips.
Vincent, holding a binocular, asked, "Commander, should we continue pursuing them at this speed?"
Edelman lowered his binoculars, shook his head, and said, "No, we'll only pursue them until tomorrow afternoon. Regardless of the outcome, the Allied forces haven't arrived yet, so we have the time. Let's treat this pursuit as dessert before the main course."
"Even if they can't eat it, it's enough to terrify these Yan people. They need to realize that fighting in the near sea and fighting in the far sea are completely different things."
“Yes, Commander,” Vincent replied.
Edman smiled, the corners of his mouth slightly upturned.
And so, they followed the distant fleet, gradually moving away from Chalmers Island.
——
On September 19th, the weather was slightly overcast, but the wind at sea was not strong and the temperature dropped slightly, which was still considered good weather.
On the vast ocean, the allied fleet was cutting through the waves at full speed. At the forefront of the allied fleet was the Sasiri fleet, and on its flagship, Clemento was looking at the sea ahead through binoculars.
Ahead lay Chalmers Island, the island in the middle of their voyage and the rendezvous point with the Federation fleet.
But the scene that appeared in his field of vision at that moment made Clemento frown deeply.
He only saw a small number of Federation warships at sea, perhaps only about a hundred.
What's going on? Clemento was filled with doubt.
Does this mean the Federation fleet only deployed this few warships for this joint operation? Were they severely weakened in the last battle?
He then turned to look at the Rose Fleet sailing on the left rear wing, and sighed slightly. It seemed that the operation was starting to run into problems again.
"Find a suitable spot to prepare for mooring!" he shouted.
——
Chalmers Island.
More than a hundred federal warships that did not participate in the last exercise are still anchored off the coast of Chalmers Island; these are the ships that transport army soldiers.
Four days earlier, they received orders from Fleet Commander-in-Chief Edman to wait here for the fleet exercises to end and return.
But this was the fourth day, and they still hadn't seen the fleet return.
Two days earlier, the local commander, Pam, had sent several warships to search for the island. These warships dared not sail too far, so they returned to Charme Island after only one day and one night.
The news they brought disappointed Pam somewhat, as they had not seen a single Federation warship at sea.
But Pam wasn't too worried. After all, those hundreds of ships were very powerful, and the commander-in-chief, as an experienced general, could command the warships to escape danger even in the event of a crisis.
After all, this is at sea. As long as the enemy warships can't catch up, the vast ocean is an escape route.
He guessed that the fleet might already be on its way back.
Around noon, just as Pam finished his meal, he received news that a fleet was heading towards Chalmers Island. However, it was not the returning Federation fleet, but a fleet from various nations on the continent of Leon.
