On a dark and stormy night, under Lucat's command, the soldiers took up arms and cannons and landed on the island.
The desolate coral island is mostly rock. The rock walls, eroded by the sea over thousands of years, are riddled with holes. The cliffs by the sea are covered with barnacles. As soon as you step onto the shore, Lucat sees countless oyster shells scattered on the land. These oysters have been pried open by people, and it is clear that the defeated soldiers on the island are doing everything they can to get food.
The discovery of these oyster shells meant that people had stayed on the island. Lukat waved for the soldiers to line up, and oil lamps were gradually lit in the ranks. They carried the flag of the Kingdom of Lukat, which was raised high to identify themselves, and began to march toward the center of the island.
They had only traveled a short distance when a shout suddenly came from the towering rock formations ahead:
"Shenglu people! Have you defected to the enemy?!"
Lucat's face remained calm as he replied, "We're here to rescue you. Come out."
"Fully armed, you've come to rescue us? You don't mean to kill us, do you?!"
Lucate shook his head helplessly, sighed inwardly, and then shouted in a loud voice: "If you don't want to live, then forget it!"
"Let's go back!" he shouted to the soldiers as he turned around.
The words had barely left his mouth.
"etc!"
With a whoosh, countless dark figures emerged from the dark rock formations. The leader, holding a musket, looked at Lucat with a grim expression; it was Federich.
"Explain yourself! What exactly is going on?! The Yan Kingdom's fleet is at sea, how can they rescue us?"
Lucate glanced at the musket in his hand and frowned. "Why are you pointing a gun at me?"
"If you want to know what's going on, sit down and let me explain."
Federich, suppressing his rage, narrowed his eyes and said coldly, "You all look like you've already betrayed us and become accomplices of the Yan people!"
These words caused Lucate's expression to change, and his gaze suddenly sharpened: "What accomplice? We persuaded the Yan people!"
"We took a huge risk to meet with the Yan people. With our mediation, the Yan people said that the war is over and they will not do anything to you anymore. You are safe now!"
Upon hearing this, Federich was visibly taken aback. He frowned and said, "Are the Yan people so easy to talk to?"
"Last time in the South China Sea, they were..."
Before he could finish speaking, Lucate interrupted him sharply: "That's all in the past!"
"The people of Yan are not unreasonable. At least this time, they have decided to spare you."
When Federich heard these words, his blood boiled instantly, and his anger flared up.
These brutal Yan people destroyed their own fleet, leaving them stranded on a deserted island as a group of ragged and starving refugees. Yet, Lucat's words seem to be speaking up for them.
Federich was furious, his intense anger making him want to shoot the lackey in front of him, but the Shenglu people were armed with firearms, and their fighting strength was clearly much stronger than his own remnants.
Once we break ties with them, the consequence will be that everyone will die here.
Thinking this, Federich's anger gradually subsided under the influence of his will to survive, but even so, he gritted his teeth and said:
"They...did they really say that?"
Lucate said coldly, "Is there any need for me to deceive you?"
"Even we can get on the island, do you think they can't?"
“If we hadn’t gone to mediate, you would either have died under their gunfire or starved to death on this deserted island.”
"Do you really want to continue fighting with the Yan people?"
Lucat's words immediately deflated Federich's anger. He sighed inwardly, dejectedly put down the unfireable gun in his hand, and led his soldiers out.
Only then did the two sides officially meet.
Seeing Federich's emaciated and haggard appearance, Lucat felt a strange sense of satisfaction.
During the voyage, Federich had ridiculed, mocked, and even insulted him and his country in various ways, and now that he had met such an end, Lucat felt particularly pleased.
However, he still managed to restrain his expression with great composure. Just as he was about to speak, he saw a familiar face emerge from behind Federich.
“Lucart, how do the Yan people intend to treat us?” Winston asked with a grim face as he stepped out from behind Federich.
Lucat said calmly, "You are now prisoners of war."
The moment the word "prisoner of war" was uttered, Federich was enraged again. However, this anger did not continue to burn because he knew it was true. So his anger subsided slightly, and a strong sense of shame swept over him. His face turned red, but he could not utter a word to refute it, let alone argue against it.
But Winston, standing next to Federich, keenly picked up on an unusual message from those words.
His face grew increasingly grim, and he asked Lucate in a low voice:
"We are prisoners of war now."
"And what about you?"
His question immediately made Federich realize something was wrong, so he frowned, his expression turned serious, and he asked Lucate the same question.
"What do you mean? We are prisoners of war, aren't you?"
Lucat wanted to say, "Of course not. The Emperor of Yan has said that no one in the Rose Fleet will be taken prisoner."
But after thinking about it, he didn't say that directly, but instead said:
