Chapter 913 Judgment Day 7

"Can you save them?"

Faced with this question, Wolfgang's lips curled down, his eyes filled with confusion as he shook his head and said:

"I have no idea."

"You don't know? Then why did you do it?"

"Because doing it that way won't work."

"But you don't even have confidence, yet you want to go against my lead?" Von Palen's gaze gradually turned cold.

Wolfgang did not refute this. He lowered his eyes and said, "I do not have confidence, but who does now?"

"You don't know yet, do you? Saski's army has been defeated by the Yan Kingdom. Greg is holding back, and the Yan Kingdom's army is on its way to Salivia."

Von Palen was indeed unaware of the news, but he did not show any shock upon hearing it.

Wolfgang raised his head, looked directly at von Palen, and said, "Tell me, what else can we do besides surrender?"

"Call upon the people? Get them all to the battlefield and fight the Yan people to the death?"

Instead of answering the question directly, Von Palen scoffed and said, "So you think surrender can save the country? Save the civilians?"

Wolfgang touched his face and gave a self-deprecating laugh: "I don't know if surrendering can save the country, because our fate is already in the hands of others."

"However, I am certain that if we do not surrender and this war continues indefinitely, our country will perish."

"You led our nation to rise and personally created the Delta Federation we have today. Can you watch it perish?"

Von Palen stared at Wolfgang's face, his expression turning cold:

"Wolfgang, you have not only become naive, but you have also lost the spirit that a Goth should have."

"No matter the circumstances, you should never leave your fate to others to control. How could you be so naive as to believe that your enemy would show you mercy?"

"Have you forgotten what you did when we were oppressed by the Kosovo Empire?"

Wolfgang did not answer.

Von Palen continued, "Have you forgotten what we did when we were stronger than the Kosovo Empire?"

Wolfgang's face gradually turned pale.

"This cruel world has proven countless times that the weak will only perish; this is the law. Yet you fantasize about exchanging surrender for survival."

“In the past, we were oppressed by the Kosovos. Federica chose to back down again and again. Did the Kosovos give us room to live? No, they became even more aggressive.”

"So we had to choose another option. We united the people, cultivated their faith, and told them that they could not give in. Only through struggle could we liberate our nation and give us space to live. Looking at it today, this was the right choice."

"But that's far from enough. Who knows where the next Kosovo Empire is? So we must keep strengthening our military, fight, conquer, and push our country to the top of the world. That way, no one will be able to take away our right to live anymore."

Upon hearing this, Wolfgang shook his head and gave a bitter laugh: "Beautiful wish, but reality is not so beautiful."

"Look at the present. If we hadn't launched the conquest of Yan Kingdom, our country wouldn't be in this state now."

Can you deny it?

Von Palen: "I don't deny it."

"But you must know that even if we don't consider Yan Kingdom as a target for conquest, they will still invade us with their army someday in the future."

"That's hard to say," Wolfgang shook his head.

"Who knows? Even if there are only two people left in this world, the relationship of conqueror and conquered will still exist, and war will still happen between them."

Wolfgang: "You're being too absolute."

Feng Palen: "That's just how the world is; you can't pretend you don't understand."

Wolfgang took a deep breath and said, "None of that matters anymore."

"The Yan Kingdom is about to bring a large army to Salivia. We have already lost this war, as you already know. Even the army no longer supports your actions."

"Surrender is our only option."

Von Palen looked at Wolfgang's pale face, and after a few seconds of silence, said calmly:

"You can surrender, but I won't."

"Do it, kill me, and then surrender to the Yan Kingdom."

Wolfgang shook his head: "I don't want to kill you. We've never been enemies. It's just that I no longer agree with what you're trying to do. It's wrong and will cost many innocent people their lives."

"I hope you will step down voluntarily, and do so in front of all the people, and tell them that we have been defeated and we must surrender."

Upon hearing this, Von Palen actually laughed:

"When I decided to conquer the Yan Kingdom, who stood up to dissuade me? And who wasn't a participant?"

"And now, you want me to call on the people to be cowards? To make them willingly be oppressed by the Yan people in the future and dutifully be slaves?"

Wolfgang, his face pale and lips trembling, said, "No, that's not how it is."

Von Palen sneered, "Wolfgang, are you really saving the country, or are you just spouting such high-sounding words out of fear of the Yan people?"

"You've lost the spirit of the Goths, and you want the whole nation to be like you?"

"You're a coward..."

Before he could finish speaking, Wolf punched Von Palen in the face without warning.
