“Our flag will be planted on every piece of land in your Delta Federation. Your so-called unconditional surrender is of no importance to me.”
"I can directly occupy your country."
But the words had barely left his mouth.
"No! Please don't do that! Even if your army is powerful, there will still be casualties as long as the war continues. If we surrender unconditionally now, there will be no more casualties..." Dingle was trying his best to argue.
Qin Ze suddenly stepped forward, grabbed his collar, and said coldly:
"So many people have already died, what's a few more casualties?"
“It’s not worth it! Every soldier has a family behind him. It’s not worth it for you to do this. We surrender, and we’re willing to accept any conditions you want. Isn’t that enough for you? Nobody wants to die on the battlefield, and nobody wants to see a war that never ends!” Dingle said urgently.
Qin Ze raised an eyebrow and countered, "But isn't that exactly what you've been doing?"
"Aren't you Goths the ones who have been waging war after war, profiting from it, and finally growing so ambitious that you've set your sights on my country?"
"Isn't what I want to do now exactly what you all wanted to do but failed to do?"
Dingle's face froze; he opened his mouth, unable to find any reason to refute those words.
Walter Gunn could find no more reason to refute, so he could only crawl on the ground, reach out, and grab Qin Ze's leg to plead:
"We are willing to pay any price, just to end this war and stop the innocent lives from being lost. As the instigators of the war, we have all committed unforgivable mistakes, but those civilians are innocent; they cannot bear the suffering brought by war any longer..."
Qin Ze kicked Wolfgang away and sneered:
"You're full of lies. Without the support of the people, where did you get this army of millions? What? You lost the war, so your former supporters are now innocent?"
"Bullshit! No one is innocent! Whose hands aren't stained with blood?!"
"In our Yan Kingdom, this is what you call war-loving people who will perish."
Upon hearing this, Wolfgang was plunged into utter despair. He collapsed to the ground, trembling uncontrollably, while Dingle pleaded:
“You have already defeated us, and we are willing to surrender and never wage war against your country again. We will also make amends for this mistake. But if you continue to wage war against us, isn’t that just as you said, ‘those who love war will perish’?!”
After speaking, Qin Ze turned to look at Ding Geer, scrutinized him for more than ten seconds, and then slowly said:
"You all know how powerful my army is, so no matter when, where, or in any war, we will never lose and will always be the ultimate victors."
Dingle shook his head: "Before we offended your country, we also thought we could overcome everything."
“But now…you’ve seen it all…we’ve paid an unbearable price, this is the ultimate result of war…” Dingle said, distraught.
Upon hearing this, Qin Ze crossed his arms, seemingly lost in thought, and then he said:
"That seems to make some sense..."
"You seem... to have genuinely realized your mistakes, want to make amends, and are willing to change accordingly?"
“Yes! Yes!” Dingle nodded hurriedly.
Qin Ze shook his head: "I don't believe it."
Dingle froze, about to speak, but Qin Ze continued, "But I am a merciful man and can give you a chance to surrender."
Upon hearing this, a glimmer of hope welled up in the hearts of both Dingle and everyone else.
Qin Ze said, "I don't know whether you will make any changes. If I let you go, you might bring a large army to take revenge on my country again after a period of time. That's entirely possible. I have to make the worst-case scenario assumption."
"Of course, it's also possible that, as you're saying now, they fear war and want to embrace peace."
"Did they truly realize their mistake, or were they forced into it? I have to ask God, or rather, ask the deity you believe in."
As soon as he finished speaking, everyone froze. Wolfgang, who was lying on the ground, raised his head and looked at Qin Ze with a blank expression.
"Does anyone have a coin? Give me one," Qin Ze asked.
Immediately following, an official who had knelt down on the ground trembled as he pulled a coin from his pocket. Yan Bing, who was standing nearby, took the coin from his hand and handed it to Qin Ze.
At this moment, Dingle said with a look of fear:
"Do you intend to decide the fate of our nation by flipping a coin?"
Qin Ze nodded slightly and replied solemnly, "Yes, this is the opportunity for you."
Upon hearing this, Dingle shook his head repeatedly: "No! How can one regard the survival of a nation as..."
Qin Ze interrupted coldly, "These are all choices you made yourselves."
As he spoke, Qin Ze tossed a coin into the air. In the blink of an eye, the coin landed on the back of his left hand and was instantly covered by his right hand.
"This coin has a flower on one side and an eagle on the other."
"I will look at the front. You will choose one of the patterns. If you happen to be right, then I will accept your surrender and end this war. I will then withdraw from your country without leaving a single soldier behind."
"But if the pattern you choose is wrong, then regardless of whether you surrender or not, I will continue to deploy troops to kill all the rebels until I have completely occupied this continent."
