Chapter 2 Countdown: 24 Hours

Someone blindfolded her and reached out to untie her clothes, so Xiaolongnu couldn't speak and couldn't call for help.

Suddenly, she felt that her environment had changed.

I could smell the rich fragrance of peach blossoms.

What place is this?

Why does it smell like peach blossoms?

Filled with doubt, she heard a dog barking. A dog appeared out of nowhere and sniffed around her.

Then the sound of the dog pawing the ground reached my ears clearly.

What is this dog digging a hole for?

Are they going to bury her?

Then came new footsteps, initially hurried as if running, but quickly slowing down, followed by a man's surprised voice:

"A girl actually fell from the sky."

Li Ming walked up to the woman and casually glanced at her a few times. She was quite beautiful, with an unparalleled appearance. She was both delicate and radiant, as pure as a fairy maiden from Mount Gusha.

What a beautiful fairy! But why is she covering her eyes with a black cloth?

Is it because of poor eyesight?

But my lady, this black cloth doesn't suit your temperament at all.

If someone has poor eyesight and needs to cover their eyes, they should use a white cloth strip.

The black strip of cloth severely obscures your fair and delicate beauty. It's unbelievable that such a lovely girl doesn't know how to dress. Li Ming really wants to recommend something called Vipshop to her.

Let her learn the best pairings.

Li Ming mentally grumbled a couple of times, then squatted down and, through the light veil, placed his hand on the girl's pulse.

"Still alive?"

Li Ming glanced at the black dog that was still digging a hole to bury the person and shouted, "The person isn't dead, what are you digging for? Get out of here."

The black dog's ears drooped, as if it didn't understand. After a pause, it continued digging the hole.

This dog is absolutely amazing.

I need to think of a way to stew it with some goji berries.

Li Ming made a ferocious expression, raised his hand, and made a gesture as if he was about to hit the black dog.

Feeling the pressure, the black dog jumped up, rolled twice on the ground, and ran towards the wooden bridge in a flash.

Li Ming withdrew his gaze and looked at the girl who was still lying on the ground.

She wasn't dead, there were no signs of injury, and she hadn't fainted. She just lay there quietly, not saying a word. I was so curious.

"Aren't you afraid of being picked up by someone while you're still alive?" Over the years, Li Ming had been alone in the Yunmeng Sect, with no one to talk to, and had gradually developed a habit of talking to himself.

"Girl, wake up."

Seeing that she still didn't move, Li Ming stretched out a finger and gently poked her face.

Her face was soft, but pale, bloodless, ridiculously white, and even a little cold. Li Ming thought he was poking at a piece of ancient ice.

His gaze fell on the girl's black blindfold, and he was about to remove it when he remembered something.

If a girl's eyes are injured and the blindfold is suddenly removed, allowing sunlight to shine in, it could lead to blindness.

It's best not to rashly use her black cloth.

However, through observation, Li Ming could determine that there was something wrong with the girl. He checked her pulse again through the veil and finally found the problem.

"So you've been acupunctured. I'll undo it for you now."

Li Ming turned the girl over and put his index and middle fingers together.

Although it was his first time releasing the acupoints.

However, after practicing here for several years, I have gained some understanding of the basic acupoints of the human body, and I am confident in my ability to unblock them.

He quickly clicked the button.

The acupoints had just been released, and the woman in white's chest rose and fell twice.

She sprang up quickly, her movements swift and agile, and reached out to tear off the black cloth covering her eyes.

The movements were fluid and graceful, without any hesitation, and even possessed a certain beauty, like a fairy dancing.

Her expression was calm and composed, her gaze sweeping around as she quickly surveyed the area, confirming that this was not Zhongnan Mountain.

The environment here is like a fairyland, with peach blossom forests, gardens, lotus ponds, flowing waterfalls, and a magnificent rainbow hanging in the sky. There is also a very large and tall dead tree in front of it.

At the very front of the withered tree stands a suspended pavilion in the air.

The pavilion is suspended in mid-air, surrounded by a light mist, making it look like a palace floating in the sky.

What is this place? Is it the realm of immortals?

Then, she noticed the man in front of her. He had an extraordinary appearance and was wearing a white feather robe. The robe was flowing and emitted a faint halo, giving off an unusual aura.

"Your eyes are perfectly fine." Li Ming gazed into the girl's eyes, which were like a deep pool, clear and bright like autumn water, shimmering with light. "I thought your eyesight wasn't good. Why are you wearing a black cloth around your eyes?"

Little Dragon Girl didn't speak; her pale, bloodless face made her look somewhat cold: "How did I get here?"

"It fell down."

Li Ming pointed to the sky and said, "You must have fallen from the sky and accidentally stumbled into my cultivation place."

Upon hearing this, Xiaolongnu remained silent, her aloofness seemingly untouched by worldly affairs.

Not long after Ouyang Feng acupunctured her, someone blindfolded her. She didn't know who it was, but through verbal analysis, she could tell it wasn't the ethereal man in front of her.

Someone must be blindfolded.

Could it be Yang Guo?

As she pondered, Xiaolongnu's face grew increasingly cold, her gaze locking onto the man's waist, where a wooden plaque flashed twice, displaying words she couldn't understand.

Li Ming also noticed the movement of the dragon-patterned wooden plaque at his waist, and picked it up to take a look.

The screen displayed "24".

What do these two numbers represent?

Ever since the girl in white fell down, the dragon-patterned wooden plaque has been moving, and now numbers are appearing. It's easy for Li Ming to think of time, since a day has 12 two-hour periods, or 24 hours.

He was more familiar with hours than the concept of time.

This was the only thing Li Ming could think of; the number 24 represented time.

Could it be that the girl in white fell down and could only stay for 24 hours, after which she would be pulled away by some mysterious force and return to her own world?

Of course, this is just his guess.

This has been verified in practice.

Practice is the sole criterion for testing truth.

We need to use the girl as a "guinea pig" to test her.

Li Ming looked at the aloof girl and said, "Since you have unexpectedly come to my cultivation place, you must have a connection with this place. Please come up to my pavilion and have some tea."

He walked ahead and led the way.

The woman remained silent, her expression unchanged, and followed Li Ming at a respectful distance.

The wooden bridge in front is exquisitely crafted, and there is only one wooden bridge leading to the pavilion suspended in the air. It must be said that the scenery here is much more beautiful than that of the Ancient Tomb Sect.

As Xiaolongnu moved, she was as light as the wind blowing through snow-covered branches, highlighting her graceful figure.

A gentle breeze blew by, lifting her white veil and making her appear as if enveloped in a cloud of white smoke.

The black dog lying on the wooden bridge drooled and licked its lips.
