Chapter 86 Li Yaqing's Attempted Abduction
Kuncheng Station
Before the driver had even come to a complete stop, Gu Yihan got up and quickly cleared a path through the crowded throng.
I jumped out of the car in a flash and jogged to the tree to breathe in the fresh air.
Sitting in his seat, Xiao Wu stared in disbelief at Gu Yihan's retreating figure as she squeezed through the crowd and jumped off the bus.
My sister-in-law's speed is almost as fast as their training speed.
Gu Yihan stood under the tree and waited for a while for the light rain to fall. It wouldn't be good for the two of them to get in the car together and leave without saying goodbye.
She saw Xiao Wu getting off the bus at the very back of the crowd and called out, "Xiao Wu."
After saying goodbye to him, Gu Yihan walked towards the post office.
Kuncheng has a local military presence, so its population is larger than that of Jinyang City, and its post office is also larger.
The post office worker, who was knitting, heard someone and glanced at Gu Yihan, asking, "Are you sending a telegram or mailing a letter, sir?"
Gu Yihan ignored the post office staff's attitude, took out 5 yuan and the receipt and placed them on the counter: "Remittance."
The post office staff put down the sweater they were holding, took the money and bills from Gu Yihan, and took out a remittance form from the drawer to fill it out.
Gu Yihan looked at the stamps in the counter. She waited for the post office staff to fill out the money order before asking any questions.
A commotion erupted outside the post office: "Let me go! I don't know you! I'm not your wife!"
The familiar cries reached Gu Yihan's ears. Why did that voice sound so much like Li Yajing's? It shouldn't be her, right? She's still in Jinyang City.
"Wife, we can't get a divorce. Our son is waiting at home." The young man grabbed the woman's arm.
"Are you sick? I'm not your wife. I think you're all human traffickers." The familiar, shrill voice, trembling with sobs, reached Gu Yihan's ears.
Gu Yihan thought for a moment and then strode out of the post office, just in time to see a young man wearing patched clothes and an old woman with a mean face dragging Li Yajing along.
He dragged her along, saying, "Aren't you going to take care of the children at home?"
The onlookers pointed and whispered, trying to persuade Li Yaqing: "What couple doesn't argue?"
"Divorce so easily, that's not something a decent woman would do."
Gu Yihan cautiously approached the three of them, and Li Yaqing's eyes lit up when she saw her.
Gu Yihan shook her head slightly, afraid that Li Yajing would call her name, signaling her not to make a sound.
Taking advantage of the two people's inattention, Gu Yihan grabbed Li Yaqing's arm and pulled her behind her.
Her dark eyes stared straight back at them as she addressed the onlookers: "Grab these two, they're human traffickers."
"You bitch, what nonsense are you spouting? You're trying to sow discord between my husband and me."
After finishing his sentence, the young man walked aggressively in front of Gu Yihan and raised his hand to grab her hair.
Gu Yihan shoved Li Yaqing behind her aside and punched the man in the chest with her fist.
"Ouch..." The young man screamed, caught off guard by the blow, clutching his chest and hunching over in pain, unable to stand up.
When the old woman saw her son being beaten, she immediately stepped forward to support the young man and cried out, "This is outrageous! Someone has been beaten to death! Everyone, come and help! They don't want my daughter-in-law to come home!"
It took Li Yaqing a while to react. She burst into tears and hugged Gu Yihan, crying, "Xiaohan, they are human traffickers. I don't know them."
Gu Yihan patted Li Yajing's hand, glared at the mother and son, and suddenly raised her voice: "You want to abduct military dependents? You've got some nerve!"
Upon hearing Gu Yihan's voice, the onlookers exclaimed in surprise, "A military dependent?"
When the old lady and the young man heard Gu Yihan mention military dependents, their expressions changed drastically. They tried to find a chance to slip away, but more and more people were gathering around.
Gu Yihan glanced at the people around her, then shifted her gaze to the mother and son: "You're covered in patches, how can you afford to support a woman dressed in a dress and leather shoes?"
Those around her then realized that Li Yajing's outfit was expensive and not something an ordinary family could afford.
Aren't those two, mother and child, human traffickers? In this day and age, everyone hates human traffickers the most.
A sharp-eyed woman in the crowd noticed that the two women were trying to sneak away and shouted, "Human traffickers, don't let them get away!"
Before the young mother and son could escape, they were caught by onlookers. People who lived nearby went home, found a rope, and tied them up tightly.
Those who enjoy joining in the fun also joined a group of people in taking the mother and child to the police station.
Li Yaqing held Gu Yihan's hand tightly as they walked with everyone to the police station.
She whispered in Gu Yihan's ear, "How were you so strong just now? You punched him so hard he couldn't straighten up."
Gu Yihan's heart tightened, then she chuckled and said, "I didn't have time to think. I used all my strength, and now my arms are completely exhausted."
Li Yaqing asked casually, and after hearing Gu Yihan's explanation, she didn't think much of it.
The little hamster in the space muttered to itself, "If it weren't for me, you wouldn't be this powerful."
Director Fu looked at the large group of people, including a mother and child who were tied up. Gu Yihan walked directly up to him and said, "Officer, these two are human traffickers."
"We're not human traffickers, please let us go, sob..."
The old lady sobbed as she spoke to Director Fu, "My family is too poor to afford a wife. I wanted her to be my daughter-in-law; I never intended to sell her."
The young man also wept bitterly before Director Fu, saying, "It was love at first sight."
"I fell in love with her the moment I saw her. She's definitely not a human trafficker. My family has always been honest people."
Before Director Fu could even speak, the middle-aged woman who had come with them said to the two of them, "Pah! You think you can just make someone your wife because she's pretty? How can you be so shameless?"
"If everyone were like you, whose daughter would dare to go out? And whose son wouldn't have a wife? They'd just snatch one off the street."
The others chimed in with their mocking remarks: "It's hilarious! An honest man, indeed! Doesn't he care about insulting the word?"
Director Fu's head was throbbing from their noise, and he snapped, "Shut up!"
He rubbed his temples and said to Officer Chen behind him, "Officer Chen, take them to make their statements."
After Gu Yihan and Li Yajing finished giving their statements and left the police station, they finally had time to ask her, "Why did you come to Kuncheng?"
With her eyes red and swollen from crying, Li Yaqing looked at Gu Yihan and choked out, "My family keeps trying to set me up on blind dates, but I don't want to, so I came out to find my cousin in anger."
Gu Yihan: "..."
Gu Yihan was speechless. This person was truly ungrateful for his good fortune.
She envied Li Yajing, whose parents doted on her like a princess.
“Your parents would never harm you, and the blind date they found for you is reliable,” Gu Yihan said with a sigh.
Li Yaqing didn't think that far ahead. She grabbed Gu Yihan's arm, looked earnestly into her eyes, and said, "Xiaohan, you don't understand."
"This arranged marriage is like eating a tomato with soy sauce; he doesn't like me, and I don't like him either."
Gu Yihan was stunned when she heard her words; she was speechless.
