Chapter 161 Unbearable
Gu Yihan slept very soundly. She opened her eyes groggily, took out her watch from under her pillow, and glanced at the time.

It's so late already. I stretched, threw off the covers, and got out of bed.

Gu Yihan shook her head. She had a great appetite and was in excellent health, so how could she possibly feel unwell?

Grandma Gu then remembered and continued the previous topic: "Did you know that Deputy Battalion Commander Wang got married?"
Gu Yihan hummed in agreement, not taking it to heart; whether he got married or not was none of her business.
Grandma Gu inquired, "So you really know Deputy Battalion Commander Wang's wife?"
Gu Yihan shook her head, her eyes filled with confusion, not understanding what Grandma Gu meant.
Seeing her granddaughter shake her head, Grandma Gu recounted how Su Yonghong had come to their house to cause trouble, and explained the situation to her as well.
That woman has ulterior motives; you can't meet new people when you're pregnant.
However, she didn't mention that she and her aunt had hit Su Yonghong.
Gu Yihan frowned, speechless. Did this person think that his daughter had become arrogant after marrying into the family compound?
"Grandma, I'm not familiar with Su Yonghong, nor do I know her daughter," Gu Yihan said calmly.
Grandma Gu was relieved to hear this. Since they weren't close, even if her granddaughter knew that Su Yonghong had been beaten, she wouldn't blame her.

As soon as Gu Yihan stepped into the office, she heard Sister Min's exaggerated shout: "Oh my, Sister Su, did your man beat you up again?!"
Her tone was gloating.
Gu Yihan glanced at Su Yonghong out of the corner of her eye. His cheeks looked like he had parotid gland problems. She pretended not to see him and went straight back to her seat.
Minjie was visibly happy, humming a cheerful tune.
"Shut up."
Gu Yihan looked up at Su Yonghong after hearing her angry roar.
Upon hearing this, Minjie was not afraid at all; instead, she burst out laughing.
Looking at Su Yonghong, ignoring her unpleasant expression, he shook his head and clicked his tongue in amazement: "Sister Su, do you still think you're the boss?"
"Xiao Han, did you see that? Sister Su is not the same Sister Su as before."
Gu Yihan pretended not to know anything, smiled, and didn't say anything. She didn't want to get involved in their war.
Su Yonghong stood up abruptly and looked at Gu Yihan sarcastically: "What are you pretending for?"
Gu Yihan never expected that this conflict would directly affect her.
I was about to get angry when I thought of the baby in my belly.
I had to suppress my anger and control my temper, otherwise what if the baby I gave birth to had a terrible temper?
Min glanced at Su Yonghong and snorted, "What a mad dog, he'll fawn over anyone he can get his hands on."
Su Yonghong looked at Min Jie with disdain: "Who do you think you are? You're just trying to curry favor with me because my daughter married well."
Minjie rolled her eyes at her: "Still trying to curry favor? Why don't you just say you want to see your family make a fool of themselves?"
Su Yonghong ignored Min Jie.
Instead, he looked coldly at Gu Yihan, who remained silent, assuming she was feeling guilty: "Are you very smug?"
Pointing to her swollen cheek, she said, "Your old bastard hit me, and you pretended not to see it."
Gu Yihan was stunned when she heard this. She didn't know that Grandma Gu had hit Su Yonghong.
Su Yonghong scoffed, "Those who put on airs can't produce anything of value."
Gu Yihan never expected that Su Yonghong would curse the baby in her belly.
The hand gripping the handbag tightened again and again; the pent-up frustration had reached its limit, and there was no need to endure it any longer.
He swung his handbag and threw it directly at Su Yonghong's head, aiming it wherever it landed on her head and face.
Su Yonghong waved her arms, trying to stop the handbag: "You shrew, your whole family are shrews."
Gu Yihan used all her strength to swing her handbag, hitting Su Yonghong with a series of "bangs."
Seeing Gu Yihan's actions, Minjie's eyes lit up. She immediately stepped forward and tightly grabbed Su Yonghong, making her unable to move.

Su Yonghong's arm was held tightly by Sister Min, and she couldn't break free.
It wasn't until Gu Yihan got tired of hitting that she returned to her seat.

After saying that, he went straight back to his seat.
With a cold snort, Minjie didn't believe Su Yonghong would dare to touch Gu Yihan. She was a bully who preyed on the weak, otherwise she wouldn't have been beaten by the men in her family for more than ten years.
Su Yonghong took Min Jie's words to heart. She couldn't lose her job, otherwise she would have no status in her husband's family.
She stroked her arm; as long as Gu Yihan's handbag wasn't being shaken on her neck, face, or other exposed skin, the pain wasn't noticeable elsewhere.
Su Yonghong finally said something harsh: "I'll let you off the hook because you're pregnant."
Gu Yihan glanced at Su Yonghong and saw that after she finished speaking, she sat obediently at her workstation and did not utter any provocations.
He sneered, "I hope Secretary Su's resolve is as tough as his words, otherwise I'll let you off the hook."
