Chapter 22 Sending Dumplings to Foster Harmony and Good Neighborhood Relations

They knew Xiao Chaoyang and his wife, so they didn't stand on ceremony and even gave them a bowl of stewed tofu to try.

The deputy battalion commander's sister-in-law was a little flattered, not expecting that they would even send something to her family. Knowing this, she would refrain from gossiping about the battalion commander's family.

Bonnie didn't care what they thought; all she wanted to do right now was go home and eat dumplings.

"Quick, dinner's ready."

When Gu Ye saw Bao Ni come in, he quickly handed her chopsticks; he was already craving them.

Bonnie sat down, and Grandma picked up a dumpling first. Bonnie and Gu Ye couldn't wait to put it in their mouths as well.

"It's so fresh, Grandma, your cooking is amazing!" After eating one dumpling, Bonnie felt her taste buds were awakened.

"Mmm, delicious! It would be even better with more meat. Grandma, I'll buy more meat next time, and we'll make more." This was the first time Gu Ye had ever tasted such delicious mackerel dumplings. No wonder Lin Baoni was so eager to go back to her parents' home for a meal; Grandma's cooking was just too good.

"Delicious!" Even Da Bao praised it, eating with his head down and eyes closed, it was so delicious.

After eating dumplings, everyone was so full their backs were so sore they could barely stand up straight, and the vegetables Gu Ye brought back remained untouched.

"Grandma, you rest a bit more, I'm going to work." Gu Ye put on his military cap and walked out. Bao Ni saw him off and took Da Bao for a walk, as the little guy was stuffed.

"Goodbye, Uncle!" He was quite sweet-talking.

Gu Ye thought to himself, having such a little guy is not bad.

"Auntie, there's a seesaw over there, I want to play on it."

"Go ahead and play with the other kids."

Bonnie didn't restrain Da Bao; children should be allowed to play freely.

Only after Da Bao yawned did Bao Ni carry him back.

In the afternoon, Bonnie took Grandma and Da Bao, who had just woken up, back home. She also packed a box of dumplings and some meat and vegetables that Gu Ye had brought back at noon for Grandpa and Grandma to try.

When Bonnie returned home, she felt that she was slowly starting to consider this place her home; the Lin family home had become her maternal home!
