Chapter 317 My Daughter Has Grown Up

On the morning of the first day of school, Bonnie's house was bustling with activity.

"Look at my daughter, she's all grown up, she's in middle school now!"

Gu Ye was quite excited, feeling a sense of happiness like watching his daughter grow up, but also a little sad, knowing that his child would grow up and leave home step by step.

"Alright, stop lamenting, let's go, don't be late on your first day of school."

Bonnie's one sentence shattered all my illusions!

Liu Jiu and San Qi were laughing heartily; their parents were so loving.

Liu Jiu wore the new clothes she had made the other day. She looked like a fresh scallion, all the while, if you didn't look at her face.

Sanqi was also wearing black pants and a white shirt, his hair was combed so smoothly that it looked like a mosquito could do a split if it landed on him, he was a very energetic young boy.

Gu Ye went out with the two children, dropping them off at school on the way.

On the first day of school, Gu Ye wanted to take the siblings to the school gate.

Bonnie was going to work a little later, so she wasn't in a hurry. She tidied up the house before heading to school with her bag.

On the first day of school, after the flag-raising ceremony, the students returned to their classrooms.

Liu Jiu was in Class 1 of the first year of junior high school, and Gu Xuanyi was in Class 2 of the first year of junior high school. They were not assigned to the same class.

Liu Jiu was quite tall and sat at the back of the class. Of the 45 students in the class, more than half of them were familiar faces.

Some were classmates from the fifth grade or from neighboring classes. Others came from other schools or were people I had never met in elementary school.

Liu Jiu's deskmate was a long-haired girl, who was a different version of Liu Jiu.

The little girl had two braids, each tied with a bow. She wore a sky-blue dress and leather sandals, and looked very well-behaved.

Two girls with different styles suddenly became the focus of attention in the class. Well, not really, Liu Jiu became the focus of attention incidentally. Everyone’s attention was focused on her deskmate, and they noticed her as well, especially her dark skin.

Liu Jiu started school early and was probably the youngest child in the class, while most of the other children were thirteen or fourteen.

Children in their late teens are curious about everything, especially those who are good-looking, and they will unconsciously take a second look at them.

The group of children only quieted down when their homeroom teacher came in, and their first morning self-study session in junior high school began.

The homeroom teacher was a woman in her forties who looked a bit serious.

"Quiet down. I am your homeroom teacher, Ms. Peng. I hope that everyone will focus on their studies during these two years of junior high school, and that they will all be able to successfully enter the high school of this school in two years."

The forty-odd students below had a variety of expressions: some looked determined, some were bewildered, and some were indifferent...

On the first morning self-study session of the new semester, teachers and students got to know each other and exchanged names.

When I returned to school yesterday, I had already received my textbooks, and the first class was the first formal lesson.

The college entrance examination has been reinstated, so we must get back to studying.

Unlike the tense atmosphere in the classroom, Bonnie and her friends were very relaxed in the library.

The curator held a short meeting with the group, outlining some relevant requirements, and said that the rest should be handled in accordance with the management regulations.

"This is the duty roster. There are five of us in total, and each person will be on duty for one day. On your day, arrive at school half an hour early and be the last to leave at night. Check everything carefully and lock the door."

Teacher Zhang was quite serious, and none of the other four people were distracted or muttering.

After the meeting, Bonnie checked her schedule and saw that she was on duty on Wednesday, Teacher Ma on Monday, Teacher Liang on Tuesday, Curator Teacher Zhang on Thursday, and Sister Lan on Friday.

Ms. Ma has already cleaned up the common areas today, so Bonnie and the others only need to take care of their own classrooms.

Bonnie unlocked the door with her key and entered the classroom she was in charge of. Everything had been tidied up beforehand, and from now on, all she had to do was clean and manage the books every day.

The school library is usually quiet, as students are always in class and there are very few people there.

The busiest time is at noon, when students come to read after lunch.

You can also come to the library to read books during afternoon self-study periods.

Bonnie and her classmates ate lunch half an hour earlier than the students. After they finished eating, they stayed in the library, waiting for the students to come and read.

Books can be borrowed, but books taken out of the library must be returned in perfect condition.

Each of Bonnie and her classmates has a book borrowing logbook to record information such as the time, title, student's name, and class when students borrow books. Books are generally not allowed to be borrowed for more than two weeks.

Bonnie is in charge of the junior high school group, which has several hundred students, making the workload quite heavy.

Fortunately, she had categorized and labeled all the books beforehand.

Throughout the morning, Bonnie organized the books again, promptly repairing any that were damaged or had missing pages.

After those ten years, many books were destroyed, but their school still has a relatively large collection.

After rubbing her neck, Teacher Ma came to find Bonnie to go eat.

"What have you been busy with all morning? You could hear me even when your big neck twitched?"

Bonnie packed her things, took her meal tickets, locked the door, and followed Teacher Ma outside.

"I didn't do much, just repaired some books that had missing pages or were damaged. I'm a bit clumsy with my hands, so I didn't fix many in the morning. I was looking down the whole time, and my neck hurts."

Bonnie really felt that her hands were clumsier than her feet. With her feet, she could hit the target every time she kicked. But her hands were no match; even when she aligned them perfectly, they would always miss...

Teacher Ma thinks that Bonnie is very down-to-earth and honest in her work, not just someone who's all talk and no action.

The two walked toward the cafeteria chatting and laughing, not noticing Sister Lan following behind them.

If Bonnie had eyes in the back of her head, she would have been able to see Aunt Lan pouting and rolling her eyes.

Lan's sister-in-law's name is Lan Hua. She always felt that Bao Ni had stolen her thunder, and she was very resentful.
