Sanqi looked at his mother with a horrified expression, trying to find even a trace of a joke.
"Mom, are you kidding me?"
"I'm very serious. Find a pair of knitting needles tonight and you can practice first."
Bonnie finished speaking in a serious tone, which made Liu Jiu and Xuan Yi burst into laughter. The image of San Qi sitting on the sofa knitting a sweater in their minds was too exciting.
The sight of Sanqi looking dejected was so endearing that Gu Ye couldn't help but laugh too—what a cheeky guy!
Bonnie left, ignoring the laughter that followed her.
Gu Ye planned to go to the village with Liu Jiu and the others to buy chickens and, incidentally, learn about his wife's daily life.
Xu Meifeng left the child at home with Fang Dali to look after, packed her things, grabbed a cloth bag, and went out. She had arranged to meet her sister-in-law, Bao Ni, at the front gate.

The two headed towards the bus stop, wanting to finish quickly, as they still needed to meet up with Sister-in-law Wei Hong to buy some yarn and fabric.
The two got out of the car and entered the Baihua Building. Xu Meifeng led Bao Ni to the clothing counter, a place she knew well.
"Sister Guan, that cripple is here again!"

The two saleswomen behind the counter huddled together, chattering and occasionally pointing at the two people walking towards them from a distance.
Bonnie was talking to Xu Meifeng about knitting a sweater and didn't notice the whispers behind the counter.
The two arrived at the counter. Bao Ni not only wanted to accompany Xu Meifeng to look at the styles, but she also wanted to see if there were any suitable clothes, since neither the children nor the adults in the family had winter coats!
