Chapter 186 Going to School

——

The next morning.

Lu Zhixia slowly opened her eyes, then touched the side and found no one there. She looked up at the door and found it was ajar.

In other words, the child didn't know when he would get up. She quickly sat up and looked at the clock on the wall; it was almost 6:30.

She had even slept in late, so she quickly tied her hair up, put on her shoes, and went out. After walking a few steps, she arrived next door and saw Gu Huailin sitting at the table eating.

They're enjoying their millet porridge and salted duck egg!

Su Lan put the bowl she was holding on the table. "Look at you, so careless! Go wash your face and eat!"

"Okay, Sister Lan!" Lu Zhixia turned around, took a basin, and went to the water room to wash her face and brush her teeth.

I quickly went home, put my things away, and then went to Sister Lan's house for dinner, looking at the golden millet porridge in my bowl.

"Sister Lan, how can I live without you!"

"Don't say that, hurry up and eat!" Su Lan handed her a spoon. "I put sugar in it today, so it tastes a little sweet."

Lu Zhixia quickly scooped up a spoonful and put it in her mouth. It wasn't particularly sweet, just slightly sweet. She liked sweet things, so she ate several bites before putting the spoon down.

"It's delicious."

"As long as it tastes good, that's fine. I think most kids like sweet things, so I put a spoonful of sugar in!" Su Lan said.

"That's because Xiao Linzi is there, otherwise my mom wouldn't be willing to part with him!" Zhou Yuanyuan said in her childish voice.

Su Lan was exposed by her daughter, "You little rascal, how can you say such things!"

Zhou Yuanyuan giggled.

Gu Huailin found the little girl very cute, but he didn't know what was wrong with her eyes. He didn't dare to ask her about it yesterday.

I thought to myself, how painful it must be for someone to be blind!

Since she's so optimistic, shouldn't I be more optimistic too?

After Lu Zhixia finished breakfast, she went back to her room to change her clothes. After Gu Huailin changed his clothes, she took him to school.

Gu Huailin sat on the back of the bicycle, he had never been so eager to get to school.

His classmates used to laugh at him for not having a mother, which made him sad for a long time. Now he has a mother.

The car stopped at the entrance of the residential area. Lu Zhixia saw many parents dropping off their children at school, most of whom, like her, were riding bicycles.

What grade are you in now?

"Second grade!" Gu Huailin said.

Lu Zhixia pushed her bike into the school and saw the bike shed in the corner, so she parked her bike there.

Then she took Gu Huailin to the office; this was her first time at the school.

As I approached the office door, I was asked, "Do you know which one is your homeroom teacher?"

Gu Huailin pointed inside to the woman in the white dress, "That's my teacher! We all call him Teacher Hu."

Lu Zhixia immediately put on a smiling face and walked into the office.

Hello, Teacher Hu!

Hearing the voice, Teacher Hu turned around and saw a parent she didn't recognize.

Which child are you the parent of?

"I am Gu Huailin's mother!" Lu Zhixia warmly shook hands with the other person.

Only then did Teacher Hu notice Gu Huailin standing at the door, and then warmly returned the other person's hand.

"You are his mother!"

"Yeah, that's right!"

“It’s so good that you could come. Before, someone who claimed to be a nanny took the child to school and then asked for a long leave. I tried to contact you parents but couldn’t.”

“It was our oversight. The nanny took the child out of school without our knowledge, so we want to send the child back to school now.”

"Of course," Teacher Hu said to Gu Huailin, then looked towards the door.

"Don't just stand at the door, come inside."

"Teacher! I don't have the textbooks for the new semester yet." Gu Huailin lowered his head.

Teacher Hu then realized that the textbook had indeed not been given, so she quickly let go of his hand, turned around and went back to her work area, and took out a cloth bag from the cabinet.

"Your textbooks are all in here, I've kept them all for you!"

Upon seeing the new books, Gu Huailin glanced at them, assuming that if he hadn't claimed them, they were gone.

Lu Zhixia thought the teacher was good and thanked him again.

"Thanks to you, Teacher Hu, for thinking of my child."

Teacher Hu sat down and began to ramble, “I understand that you parents are busy with your work, but you really can’t leave your children entirely to nannies. Because they are outsiders, and whether the child is good or bad has little to do with them.”

Lu Zhixia listened silently without arguing.

It wasn't until Teacher Hu felt thirsty that she realized she had said so much, so she quickly explained.

"Sorry, I tend to ramble on when I see good kids. Your child is doing well academically, especially in math—they're very talented!"
