After finally arriving at the dormitory building, Ye Linchen reached out to Ye Linnan: "Give me your suitcase."
Ye Linnan wouldn't let go: "Sis, which floor is your dorm on? Is it easy for you to carry your suitcase upstairs?"

On the first floor of the girls' dormitory building, there is a small hall with two small desks in the middle. Behind the desks stand two middle-aged women with serious expressions; this is the sign-in area for the dormitory.
Ye Linchen arrived a little late; the table was already surrounded by new students.

"Find your name on the registration form, sign in when you find it, and then come back to get your key."

After reading the names, Ye Linchen picked up a pen and signed his name in the sign-in book.
"The dormitory beds have all been assigned, and the names are posted on the bed frames. Just find your bed by the name," the dormitory auntie explained, handing the key to Ye Linchen. "The hot water room is on the first floor, and there's one bathroom on each floor. The power will be turned off at 10 p.m.
Ye Linchen nodded, thanked the dormitory supervisor, and then picked up his luggage and went upstairs.
The dormitory is on the second floor, the fourth room after you exit the stairs.
The space wasn't large; there were two bunk beds against the right wall and one on the left.
Next to the bunk beds on the left is a row of iron cabinets, and in the middle are six desks facing each other. There is also a washbasin stand near the door.
When Ye Linchen arrived, a couple and a little girl were already making the bed inside.
Upon seeing Ye Linchen arrive, the little girl quickly came over to greet him.
"Hello, I am Lin Xuemei, a freshman in the Finance Department. These are my parents. We are from Liaoning Province."
Lin Xuemei introduced herself in a very natural and generous manner.
She had her hair tied in a high ponytail, thick eyebrows, big eyes, and a slender figure, giving her a somewhat heroic air.

Ye Linchen smiled and said, "Thank you."
"Don't mention it. We'll be roommates from now on, living together for four years. This is nothing." Lin Xuemei waved her hand generously.
"I just checked out the location with my parents when we were scouting out the independent courtyard on campus."
"Go downstairs and walk three more buildings to reach the cafeteria; the food there is incredibly cheap."
"Meat dishes cost 1 yuan, vegetable dishes cost 50 cents, and rice costs 50 cents per 50 grams. You have to bring your own lunchbox."
"There's a small shop next to the cafeteria where you can buy daily necessities. The prices are cheaper than at the market outside. If you didn't bring a lunchbox, you can buy some there."
After Lin Xuemei finished her introduction, she warmly invited, "How about we go have lunch together after you've finished getting ready? Let's try the food here."
Although Ye Linchen had visited the school before with Feng Linlin and Lin Xiaojuan, he knew it far better than Lin Xuemei. He was naturally happy to accept Lin Xuemei's invitation.
"I'm currently lost, so I'd appreciate it if you could show me the way."
"I heard that the sweet and sour pork in the cafeteria is especially delicious."

Lin Xuemei then suggested to Ye Linchen, "You can go to the convenience store and buy two curtains to hang on the bed. Once the curtains are drawn, you'll have your own little world. They'll keep you warm in winter and keep out insects in summer. They're very useful."
After saying that, she showed Ye Linchen her own: "Look, like this."
Ye Linchen thought the curtain was nice and was asking Lin Xuemei about the price when he heard a loud "bang" as the door was kicked open!
