Chapter 625 Truly a Family Tradition

Xi Quan and Ye Qing were walking out and didn't notice Ye Yixin. After all, although Ye Yixin wasn't old, she was still in kindergarten, and she didn't need anyone to lead her on the short walk from the restroom to the restaurant.

But who knew that Xi Quan and Ye Qing had only taken two steps when they heard Ye Yixin crying behind them.

Ye Qing and Xi Quan quickly turned to look at Ye Yixin: "Why are you crying?"

Hearing Ye Qing's bewildered words, Ye Yixin didn't say anything. Instead, she sobbed and looked at Xi Quan, trying to see something from his face. However, she found that her father, Xi Quan, was just as bewildered as her mother, Ye Qing, and didn't know why they were crying.

This made Ye Yixin seem even more aggrieved. She had initially thought that her crying would stop when she heard Xi Quan and Ye Qing turn around and ask her questions, but now she was crying so hard that she couldn't catch her breath.

Xi Quan was holding Xi Yike, so there was nothing he could do.

They were still at the bathroom door. Ye Qing touched Ye Yixin and pulled her towards the living room, then asked her, "Why are you crying so sadly all of a sudden?"

Worried about his child, Xi Quan carried Xi Yike and followed Ye Qing. When Ye Qing asked about Ye Yixin, Xi Quan also looked at Ye Yixin with concern.

Ye Yixin sobbed, "Dad actually said I'm the fairy's older sister."

Ye Qing and Xi Quan both paused for a moment, to be honest, they didn't quite understand Ye Yixin's thinking. After all, although Xi Quan's words were a bit perfunctory, they weren't wrong.

Isn't Ye Yixin Xi Yike's older sister?!

Xi Quan and Ye Qing looked at each other, unsure how to continue their persuasion, because they genuinely didn't understand what Ye Yixin meant.

When Ye Yixin heard that her parents hadn't said anything after she had spoken her mind, she felt even more aggrieved and cried even harder.

Seeing Ye Yixin crying like this, Xi Quan, who felt so sorry for his daughter, also felt a pang of heartache. He prepared to hand Xi Yike, whom he was holding, to Ye Qing so that Ye Qing could hold the little one while he comforted his eldest daughter.

Although Xi Quan didn't actually know why Ye Yixin was crying, he felt he had to do something, otherwise he would really feel bad watching the child cry.

Just as Ye Qing was about to take Xi Yike from Xi Quan, she heard Ye Yiran's cold voice, who had been watching TV: "You should say that Fu Bao is the fairy's sister. Ye Yixin always thought that she was the most powerful fairy in the world. She raised her hand and waved it in front of Fu Bao's eyes, and Fu Bao could fall asleep under her magic."

Ye Qing also forgot to take the child from Xi Quan's hands, and was dumbfounded when she heard Ye Yiran's explanation.

Xi Quan suddenly realized that his words were indeed ill-considered. After all, whether Xi Yike was a fairy or not was not important, and Xi Yike was still a baby. She wouldn't understand anything he said. The person who should have been fooled was her, not Ye Yixin. Thinking of this, Xi Quan was extremely annoyed.

Although Xi Quan and Ye Qing both understood what it meant, adults' expressions are more nuanced, making it a bit difficult for children to clearly discern what adults mean.

So, seeing Ye Qing's stunned expression and Xi Quan's frustrated look, Ye Yixin wondered what her parents were thinking. Feeling a little uneasy, she stopped crying and looked at Ye Yiran with dissatisfaction: "Isn't that right? Aren't I the most powerful fairy in the world?"

Ye Yiran glanced at Ye Yixin, said nothing, and watched TV intently.

Ye Yixin felt a sense of powerlessness, like punching cotton. Of course, children don't really know what powerlessness is; it's just that things seem to be developing differently than she expected. This left Ye Yixin unsure of what to do next, after all, she was just a kindergarten child.

Not knowing what to do, Ye Yixin felt even more aggrieved. This time, her grievance was genuine, and her half-crying appearance was even more touching than her younger sister Xi Yike's earlier performance.

Xi Quan was so soft-hearted that he quickly handed Xi Yike to Ye Qing and then began to coax Ye Yixin: "Our Xinxin is of course the most amazing fairy."

Hearing this, Ye Yixin almost burst into laughter through her tears.

However, although Xi Yike couldn't understand what Xi Quan was saying, she knew that the person holding her at this moment was not her father, but her mother. Xi Yike was also dissatisfied and opened her mouth to cry.

Xi Yike's crying was already quite loud, and now, with the added feeling of grievance, it became even louder.

Ye Qing couldn't help but feel a chill run down her spine. Thinking back, she realized that raising two children alone abroad hadn't been this difficult. She had suffered a lot back then, but Ye Qing never deliberately recalled those hardships.

It's not that things were too hard in the past; Ye Qing tries her best to avoid thinking about them and to avoid feeling sad. It's because Ye Qing feels that those memories aren't necessarily suffering; they might be a kind of wealth in some ways.

Moreover, the past is the past, there's nothing to complain about. More importantly, she is living a happy life now, and there's no need to keep thinking about those past hardships.

But now, listening to the children crying, Ye Qing suddenly felt that there were too many children, and she even found the crying a bit annoying.

Ye Qing couldn't help but start to reflect on herself, and felt more and more that she was living a somewhat comfortable life and seemed to be unable to endure hardship.

That's not good!

Ye Qing thought she must try her best to adjust her mindset.

But right now, the most important thing is to calm the child down.

At first, Xi Quan didn't quite understand what was going on, but gradually he understood why Ye Yixin was crying; the child felt that he was being unfair to her.

The feeling of being needed was simply wonderful for Xi Quan!

In his relationship with Ye Qing, Xi Quan rarely felt needed because Ye Qing was so capable that she could handle many things on her own.

Although it's just some trivial matter concerning the children, and doesn't really demonstrate how capable he is, he, who is in control of his daughter's life, particularly enjoys the feeling of his daughter's exclusive favor towards him.

Thinking about it this way, Xi Quan couldn't help but show off and give Ye Qing a provocative smile.

Noticing Xi Quan's expression, Ye Qing was taken aback at first, then smiled helplessly and couldn't help but say, "Truly, you have a strong family tradition in learning."

Ye Qing's teasing expression made Xi Quan, who was initially quite smug, extremely uncomfortable. Xi Quan awkwardly touched his nose and turned his head away, no longer looking at Ye Qing.

But Ye Yixin was very curious: "Mom, what is our family's tradition of learning?"

Ye Qing smiled and said, "Ask your father."

Xi Quan felt even more embarrassed and said to Ye Yixin, "Dad hasn't finished eating yet, go and finish your meal first."

Ye Yixin nodded obediently, seemingly forgetting what had just happened, and went to play with her younger sister, Xi Yike. But then…
