Chapter 9 Friends from Another World

He quickly regained his usual composure before saying, "Okay."

The word "friend" has never appeared in his description before, which is quite special.

Zhao Chengqian turned sideways and coughed lightly, "Ruanruan, can you please stop calling me little brother?"

"What is that called?" Ruanruan asked as he stuffed the peeled candy into his mouth.

"You can call me little brother." After he said that, his ears turned red and he touched his forehead.

He thought about what his brother Cheng Qian said. He had been called that by other people in the palace, and he didn't like those people at all.

Only Xiaogan brother has not been called yet.

If it was his sister Ruanruan who called him, it should be pretty good.

She nodded softly, her voice sweet and sticky: "Oh oh oh, little brother..."

Zhao Chengqian's little face, which usually liked to pretend to be mature, now showed a smile, and he called him brother softly, which sounded even nicer than Yong'er's.

"Little Brother..."

"Um."

"Brother Xiaogan, do you want some candy?" asked Ruanruan.

Before Zhao Chengqian could say anything, she took out a handful of fruit candies from her schoolbag and threw them into the vase.

"Ruanruan's dad said eating candy can make people happy, so Ruanruan loves eating candy very much."

Zhao Chengqian saw all kinds of candies in beautiful and colorful packaging coming out of the vase. He pinched the wrapping paper. The world that Ruanruan was in was different from theirs. Even the things wrapped around the candies were so beautiful.

He pulled out a silver-white brocade bag made of fine silk from his sleeve, put all the candies into the bag, tied it up and put it in the lapel of his shirt.

Zhao Chengqian collected all the things on him and found that he could not give Ruanruan anything good now. The only thing he had was the jade pendant that he had already given to her.

Forget it, I’ll give Ruanruan a return gift later.

"Ruanruan, thank you."

Ruanruan zipped up her pants and said, "Xiaogan brother, you are Ruanruan's friend now, so don't be polite."

"Ding ding..." The sound of a car horn was heard outside the villa.

After a while, the door of the house opened from the outside.

"Ruanruan! Your grandma called and asked us to go back early for dinner. We should leave now. Come out quickly."

Uncle Ruan walked in and saw Ruanruan holding a vase, lying in the gap of the sofa corner with her bare feet. She pursed her lips leisurely, and was so well-behaved, but her leisurely attitude was so eye-catching.

"You little guy, I really want to take you to work." He was so itchy that he couldn't help but walk over and pinch the soft face twice and said gritting his teeth.

He didn't know how to describe the feeling in his heart. He felt very good and satisfied.

It’s just that the little one born to his brother is so cute!

It's so painful.

"Huh? Uncle, you're here." Ruanruan was so serious talking to Zhao Chengqian that she didn't hear Uncle Ruan calling her at all. She looked at Uncle Ruan with a pair of confused eyes.

Uncle Ruan was in a good mood today. He put his hands around her armpits, picked her up and sat her down on the sofa. "Tell me what you did today."

Ruanruan paused and scratched his head, "I...I went shopping."

"Shopping? Why are you so well behaved today?" Uncle Ruan looked at her scrutinizingly.

Something is wrong.

Based on his understanding of the little guy, he was definitely not that honest.

Uncle Ruan: "Didn't you go to the horse farm? Did you have fun?"

"I'm so happy, so happy." Ruanruan touched her nose and didn't dare to look at Uncle Ruan.

"Uncle, I'm hungry. Let's go back to grandma's house for dinner." She held Uncle Ruan's hand and said in a baby voice.

Uncle Ruan put her down and said, "Okay, let's go eat."

The little guy probably has a lot of secrets of his own, but as long as it's not dangerous, he's too lazy to explore them. After all, who doesn't have some secrets when they were little?

"Uh-huh!"

Uncle Ruan picked up the vase next to him and walked out the door holding Ruanruan in one hand.

Little did they know that their entire conversation was heard by Zhao Chengqian, who was just a vase. Zhao Chengqian had guessed about the environment that Ruanruan was in. He originally thought that Ruanruan was a child from a wealthy family but her parents didn't take much care of her. Now it seems that it was not what he thought. Ruanruan's family treated her very well.

"Your Highness, there is a farmhouse not far ahead. I have checked and there is only a man and a child inside. It is relatively safe at some distance from the village." Ying Qi reported.

"Let's go now and set up camp there tonight." Zhao Chengqian cleared his throat and said dully.

The horses were strengthened by the grass, and in a few moments they arrived at the farmer's house.

The man who came out of the yard had a shriveled face, but his eyes were very bright. He was limping on one leg and wearing a coarse cloth jacket with countless patches on it and black old cotton wool overflowing from it. He was holding an old turban on his head.

Yingqi explained their purpose and the man led them in.

The yard was empty, with only a small pile of firewood in the corner. The door of the house was pushed open a little, and a pair of timid little eyes stared at them.

"We don't have much food to offer you at home, but we do have a place to stay, but there's only one room left. If you don't mind, you can stay here for one night." The man glanced at him and then looked away.

Princess Jin walked in, supported by Zhao Chengqian. "Thank you very much. We are very satisfied to have a place to stay. We apologize for the inconvenience."

The man led them into a house. Although the house was shabby, it was clean and tidy inside.

"This room is mine and my wife's room. It has remained the same since my wife passed away."

"If you have anything else to do, you can call me from the next room. The kitchen is right next to it and you can boil water there." The man coughed lightly and walked out weakly.

Zhao Chengqian helped Princess Jin to the bed before asking Ying Qi to make some food.

The farmer's stove was very clean, but the pot was almost rusted, and it was obvious that it had not been used for some time.

"This rice porridge smells so good! Look at how beautiful each grain is! It's prettier than any other grain of rice I've ever seen, so shiny and glossy."

Doctor Song leaned over the pot like a miser, sniffing the white steam rising from it. "I've never tasted rice this good in my life, not to mention these past few months."

He used a big spoon to stir it, and the aroma of rice spread everywhere.

"I said I'd follow the king..."

Ying Qi shot a sharp look at him, and Doctor Song, who was clumsy in his speech, changed the subject.

"It's good to live in Prince Wang's mansion. God blesses us and we don't have to worry about food and drink."

A child was standing outside the door, staring at the pot of rice porridge in the kitchen with burning eyes. His eyes were as naked as a hungry jackal.

"Watch." Ying Qi took out a bowl, filled it with porridge, and gave instructions before leaving.

Doctor Song stared at the porridge in his hand, wishing he could go and deliver the porridge to the princess. "Don't worry, I won't leave for a moment."

After Yingqi left, he glanced towards the door a few times. Seeing that no one was there, he quickly took a bowl to fill it with porridge and drank some secretly while no one was around.
