Chapter 104 Groundhogs and Tibetan Foxes

"Squeak..."

Lu Fangfang lay on the grass, pressing down hard on the gray rabbit.

This thing is nothing like a pika; it's incredibly resilient and struggled frantically beneath her.

A rabbit kicking someone can really hurt.

"Hiss~"

Lu Fangfang was holding the gray rabbit down, about to finish it off, when a sharp pain suddenly shot through her hand.

She pulled it out and saw that a small piece of skin had been gnawed off her right hand by a rabbit, and it was bleeding.

A chill ran down her spine. She dared not underestimate wild rabbits anymore; these creatures could really bite when cornered.

She quickly drew the dagger from her waist, and despite the excruciating pain, stabbed it into the gray rabbit.

"Sizzle~"

Rabbit blood gushed from the dagger's blood groove. The gray rabbit kicked its legs and then fell silent.

Once she was sure the gray rabbit was dead, Lu Fangfang plopped down on the hay, her heart still pounding – it had been so thrilling!

She glanced at her right hand, which was still bleeding, took a sip, and then spat it out.

"Meow~"

Only then did Xiaohua emerge from the dark hole.

Seeing the bleeding gray rabbit beside it, it immediately ran over and started tearing at it.

"Alright, alright, they're all dead."

Lu Fangfang picked up Xiaohua and, without caring that it was dirty, gave it a big kiss on the head.

"My little flower is the best!"

"Meow~"

The little snow leopard looked at the gray rabbit behind it, still eager to try.

This gray rabbit weighs at least five pounds; if it were stewed, it would make a huge pot.

Looking at the gray rabbit, Lu Fangfang couldn't stop laughing.

After resting for a while, she pulled out the dagger, wiped the blood off it, and then picked up the gray rabbit to examine it.

"It's quite big. Once we skin the rabbit, we can make a hat."

Looking at the two holes on the gray rabbit's belly, Lu Fangfang felt a little sorry.

She was in a hurry just now and stabbed it in without aiming, piercing the rabbit through. If it didn't have two holes, the rabbit skin might have been sold to the state-run purchasing station for some money.

She shook her head, picked up the rabbit ears, and stood up.

Having unexpectedly acquired a gray rabbit, Lu Fangfang immediately became interested. She called out to Xiaohua and continued walking north.

On the way, she encountered another group of caves.

After Xiaohua went inside for a while, there was a commotion in the hole, but this time it wasn't a rabbit that came out, it was a pika.

Lu Fangfang was slightly disappointed, but she still picked up her slingshot and started shooting around.

She used to shoot sparrows with a slingshot since she was a child in her past life. She had long since mastered the skill. While she wouldn't say she hit the target every time, she had an 80% hit rate.

Soon, she had caught six pikas.

She cut one open and fed it to Little Flower.

Xiaohua ate half of it and then stopped eating.

Lu Fangfang touched its belly and felt it was bulging; Little Flower had really eaten its fill this time.

She didn't waste the remaining few pikas; she carried them in her hands and continued walking north.

After a while, she led Xiaohua to a hillside.

After a careful look, I saw that the surrounding slopes were full of holes of different sizes, which didn't look like the homes of pikas.

Lu Fangfang was overjoyed. She put down her prey, picked up her slingshot, and looked at Xiaohua.

"Meow~"

The little snow leopard raised its paw, scratched its head, and then walked towards a cave entrance.

Lu Fangfang perked up and looked around warily.

Not long after, a loud noise came from inside the cave.

"Meow~"

"Ah...ah..."

One was the sharp cry of a snow leopard cub, and the other was even sharper than a snow leopard's cry. Lu Fangfang was immediately puzzled. This was definitely not a gray rabbit, and she didn't know what it was making.

She tensed up, and saw Little Flower quickly run out of the dark hole.

"Meow~ Meow~"

The snow leopard cub's fur was all puffed up.

It ran behind Lu Fangfang and then stopped, hiding its body behind Lu Fangfang's legs. It poked out half of its head and barked at the cave entrance.

Upon seeing this, Lu Fangfang immediately pulled out her slingshot and aimed it at the hole.

"Whoosh~"

A dark yellow animal ran out of the hole.

It stood up on its hind legs and shouted loudly at Lu Fangfang and the little snow leopard, "Ah...ah..."

groundhog

"My goodness, isn't that a groundhog?"

Lu Fangfang felt a cold sweat break out in her skin; she never expected that such a thing would crawl out of the hole.

She had only ever seen marmots in videos in her past life; this was the first time she had ever seen one in real life.

"Meow~"

The little snow leopard bared its teeth, crouched down, and slowly walked forward.

With Lu Fangfang behind it, it wasn't afraid of the yellow rat.

Just as Xiaohua was about to pounce, another groundhog emerged from the hole behind her.

Just like the first one, this one started barking loudly as soon as it sat down on the ground.

"Ah...ah..."

"Ah...ah..."

The call was sharp and thin, and soon, marmot heads began to emerge from the various burrows on the earthen slope.

They stood up one by one, curiously observing Lu Fangfang and the snow leopard.

Xiaohua: "..."

It turned around and hid behind Lu Fangfang again.

"My goodness, how much is this?"

Lu Fangfang got goosebumps just looking at it. One of these things is quite cute, but too many are a bit creepy.

She released the slingshot, picked up her prey, and slowly retreated.

Don't let their plump appearance fool you; these little rascals are not tasty at all...

Uh, this thing can't be eaten, you can't even touch it. It carries highly virulent germs. In her previous life, she heard that some people got the plague from eating this thing, so she had to be careful.

"Alas."

"Little Flower, you didn't touch them, did you?"

Lu Fangfang looked at the little snow leopard behind her and planned to disinfect it when they got back.

"Meow~"

Xiao Hua called out to Lu Fangfang twice, then looked at the groundhog at the entrance of the hole.

"Forget it, let's not touch it. It's too dirty. Xiaohua, let's go."

Lu Fangfang took two steps back, called to the little snow leopard, and prepared to leave.

Looking up casually, she suddenly realized that besides her and the groundhog, there was another force present.

Four or five meters away from the entrance of the earthen burrow, there was an animal that was a little larger than a groundhog.

When Lu Fangfang saw the animal's face, she almost laughed. She instantly recognized the animal as a Tibetan fox!

Tibetan fox
