Little Snow Leopard: "..."
Its mouth was pinched shut by Lu Fangfang, so it couldn't make a sound. It could only tilt its head and look at her with a pitiful expression.
"Tsk."
Lu Fangfang rolled her eyes at it, then hugged it and gave it a good rub.
I touched Xiaohua's belly, and sure enough, it was empty. It seems the little guy is hungry.
Having no other choice, she took the little snow leopard to the outer room to get it something to eat.
"Chirp~"
Seeing Xiaohua's black and white leopard print, the little quails in the outer room became even more uneasy.
Lu Fangfang casually picked up a fish trap and an enamel basin, then strode out.
Before leaving, she closed the door to prevent the quail from running out.
"Tch, just pretend to be asleep."
After glancing inside the room, Lu Fangfang took her things and left.
She had just noticed that Mrs. Zhuang on the double bed on the west side was awake, but she didn't say anything.
She didn't understand why there was anything to pretend about.
She shook her head, picked up the little snow leopard, and strode out of the house.
Early in the morning, every household in the residential compound was making breakfast.
Lu Fangfang ate too much last night, and she doesn't feel hungry even though she smells delicious food.
Since Zhuang's mother didn't like her anyway, she didn't want to fawn over her anymore. She should just feed her little flower first.
"Meow~"
Lu Fangfang rubbed her head vigorously, feeling a bit of a headache.
She has so many quails at home, she can't let Xiaohua cause trouble.
After carefully examining Xiaohua's leopard print, Lu Fangfang had an idea, but she felt a little sorry for it.
When she reached the riverbank, she walked to the edge of the field and threw the bamboo cage into the water.
She put the enamel basin aside, picked up the little flower, and went to check on the field.
Thanks to the rain a few days ago, the vegetables in the field are growing like crazy.
Especially those five rows of potatoes, which are now over 20 centimeters tall. The tomato seedlings she transplanted earlier are also growing well. In a few days, she will have to plant some bamboo poles and wait for the seedlings to bear fruit.
In the entire wasteland, only the half-acre cornfield that was just cleared this year is growing rather weakly.
There was nothing she could do; she didn't have much fertilizer, so she could only let the soil recover slowly.
After looking around, Lu Fangfang, carrying Xiaohua, returned to the riverbank.
"Splash..."
Pull the bamboo cage out forcefully, and in just a short while, many small fish have entered.
Besides the common types, she also found a small, silvery-white fish in the cage. She didn't know its name, but it seemed to be a cold-water fish and tasted quite good.
She picked up the fish and put them in the enamel basin, then took the bamboo cage and threw it back in.
"Meow~"
Little Flower looked at the little fish in the basin and paced anxiously back and forth.
"Sweetie, we're not having fish this morning."
Lu Fangfang picked up Xiaohua and walked towards the other side of the river.
Early in the morning, many soldiers were clearing land and planting crops in the wasteland on the opposite bank.
Just a few days later, the troupe had reclaimed hundreds of acres of wasteland, which she found incredibly enviable.
She watched for a while longer before leaving.
Upon arriving at the grassland, Lu Fangfang took out a slingshot from her pocket, squinted, and carefully examined both sides of the path.
A moment later, she saw a furry head on the grass in the distance.
Lu Fangfang glanced at the little flower in her arms, shook her head, and decided to do it herself.
Little Flower is too small now; by the time she runs over, the pika will have already run away.
Taking out a slingshot, Lu Fangfang pulled back the bowstring and aimed at the fat pika in the distance.
"Whoosh~"
"Smack."
The bullet flew out and hit the pika precisely on the head. It kicked its legs and fell to the ground, motionless.
Lu Fangfang picked up Xiaohua and ran over quickly.
Xiao Hua had eaten pika meat, and upon seeing the pika's carcass, she immediately screamed.
Meow~
"Alright, here you go."
She drew the dagger from her waist, sliced off several pieces of tender flesh, and fed them to Xiaohua.
Having gone through it once, Lu Fangfang's hands no longer tremble when she cuts rabbit meat. Looking at the tender red strips of meat, she actually feels a little tempted to try it herself.
She hasn't eaten real meat for almost half a month. Small fish taste good, but they don't satisfy her craving.
"Alas."
Lu Fangfang shuddered and quickly fed all the rabbit meat to Xiaohua.
After eating a pika, Little Flower immediately perked up.
"Little Flower, keep up."
Lu Fangfang stopped holding Xiaohua and took her slingshot away from the path, heading towards the depths of the grassland to the north.
Xiao Hua quickly followed behind her.
Green grass sprouts have sprung up all over the surrounding grass.
She searched for pikas while picking green grass shoots.
Once she had enough in her hands, she vigorously rubbed the grass juice out and then applied it to the little flower behind her.
"Meow~"
Little Flower shook her body, somewhat unwilling.
But Lu Fangfang had no choice. Xiao Hua's body was covered in leopard print, which looked too scary. She couldn't let it frighten the little quail at home.
"Alright, alright, stop shaking. This is grass juice; it's good for your fur."
Seeing another furry head pop up on the grass in the distance, Lu Fangfang quickly aimed her slingshot and fired it with all her might.
After feeding Xiaohua a fat pika, it finally stopped making a fuss.
Lu Fangfang looked around and noticed many animal holes in the surrounding grass.
She waited for a while with her slingshot, but the pika didn't come out again. She looked down at the little flower who was licking its fur.
The little snow leopard was now covered in a greenish hue, which looked quite unsightly, making Lu Fangfang feel a little embarrassed.
She bent down and patted Xiaohua's head, then picked her up and placed her at the entrance of the cave.
"Meow~"
The little flower tilted its head, looking at it with a puzzled expression.
"Little Flower, go in and take a look. If there are any pikas, chase them out."
Lu Fangfang pointed to the remaining carcasses of the pikas beside her, and then pointed into the hole.
Xiaohua looked at it and seemed to understand what she meant.
Looking at the dark hole in the grass, the little flower wasn't afraid of the dark at all; instead, it became interested in the dark hole.
It crawled inside, crouching low.
"If there are no pikas, come out quickly."
Lu Fangfang shouted, then quickly gripped the slingshot and nervously looked at the several holes around her.
Time passed second by second, and suddenly a scream came from inside the cave. She quickly pulled back the slingshot.
"Squeak~"
A gray head suddenly appeared at the entrance of the hole, about seven or eight meters away from her.
Lu Fangfang immediately realized what was happening. She gripped the slingshot, aimed in that direction, and then released it.
"Whoosh~"
"Bang."
The mud pellet hit the gray animal precisely on the head, but it wasn't dead yet. It rolled over and tried to run away, wobbling unsteadily.
Lu Fangfang was stunned for a moment, then immediately rushed over.
This isn't a pika, it's a rabbit, a pure gray rabbit.
She was craving meat so badly, she couldn't let this rabbit escape.
The yellow mud pellets left the gray rabbit somewhat dazed. Just as it came to its senses and was about to run away, a huge body pounced down on it.
