"Meow~"
Little Flower lay on Zhuang Mingcheng's feet, scratching his trouser leg with its paws.
"Awoo~"
The little Tibetan fox lay on the other side, sniffed, and suddenly gagged.
It quickly rested its head on the little flower's tail, no longer daring to sniff.
Zhuang Mingcheng looked down, laughing uncontrollably, but also feeling a little embarrassed.
He tried to pull his hand away, but found that his wife was holding it tightly. He simply ignored it and nestled into her arms.
To be honest, my wife felt warm all over and smelled really good.
He closed his eyes and dozed off for a while, almost falling asleep.
"Fangfang, that's enough, let go of me, I'm all hot."
Lu Fangfang touched his face and then his hand, feeling that it was getting warm, before letting go of him.
She turned around and poured some warm water, then called on her husband to hurry up and wash.
Seeing that Xiuxiu was still simmering ginger soup on the stove, she went out and got a dried rabbit, intending to stew it in the inner room so she could have a good meal that night.
"Meow~"
"Awoo~"
Little Flower and Little Tibetan Fox also ran into the yard.
They walked to the snowdrift in the corner, jumped up, and rolled around in it.
After emerging from the snowdrift, they shook off the snow before preparing to go back inside.
Zhuang Mingcheng looked out the window and felt guilty towards the two little ones.
He poured some warm water, took the soap from the laundry detergent, and thoroughly washed his feet.
After drying himself off, he sat in front of the stove, put his feet on the stool, and then picked up Xiaohua and placed her on his feet.
I must say, it feels really comfortable to be covered by Xiaohua.
"Meow~"
Xiao Hua lowered her head, sniffed, and then took a bite.
"Ouch, Xiaohua, be gentle, be gentle, my foot can't be touched."
Zhuang Mingcheng smiled, reached out and petted it, then hugged the little Tibetan fox to his arms to warm his hands.
"Brother-in-law, the ginger soup is ready."
Xiuxiu brought him a bowl of ginger soup.
Zhuang Mingcheng quickly took it, blew on it, and took small sips.
"Brother-in-law, where have you been these past three days?"
"We've been to so many places. The furthest we've gone east is the Datong River, and the furthest we've climbed Zhuoer Mountain. The snow there is much deeper than here; in the deepest parts, it's up to my waist..."
Xiuxiu stood to the side, listening with amazement.
Lu Fangfang silently walked over and started massaging his neck and shoulders again.
Hearing her husband say that he had traveled such a long distance, she knew it must have been very tiring.
"Mingcheng, are all the outposts in the regiment alright?"
"Several outbuildings collapsed, but no one was seriously injured. Luckily, all the supplies were transported there, otherwise it would have been terrible. Sigh, no one expected the snow to be so heavy this year."
Zhuang Mingcheng stroked the little Tibetan fox and sighed again.
He suddenly thought of the soldiers stationed in the Ali region, where the conditions were even more difficult than here.
After talking for a while, the food in the inner room was ready, and the group sat down at the table to eat.
Zhuang Mingcheng was too tired from the journey and didn't have much of an appetite.
After eating a little something, he quickly went to the inner room, lay down on the kang (a heated brick bed), and went to sleep.
During the three days he was away, he thought about the warm kang (heated brick bed), his wife, and his home all the time. He slept very soundly that night.
The next day, he slept until very late.
He put on his clothes and went to the outer room, where he found his wife busy with a spoon in the vat.
"Fangfang, what are you busy with?"
"Old Xu brought half a basket of eggs yesterday, and I'm planning to have Xiuxiu deliver some oil over there."
Lu Fangfang took a spoon, scooped out a large piece of ointment, and then threw it into the jar.
"The porridge in the pot is still warm, go wash your face and eat."
"Old Xu is a really good man. We should definitely send him some. Oh, and you should also pack some fine grains and send them over. He's been sent down to the countryside, so he probably won't get any fine grains to eat."
Zhuang Mingcheng shook his head. He poured some warm water, washed his face, and then dried it with a towel.
Lu Fangfang turned her head and looked at him.
The man's cheeks were frostbitten, looking red and rather unsightly. His ears were also frostbitten, almost turning into big, swollen ears.
If it warms up, it will definitely get itchy.
“Look at your face, it’s almost disfigured. When you get to the regiment, go ask Dr. Meng for some ointment to apply, and also ask the soldiers with you for some.”
"Okay, I'll go ask Dr. Meng later."
“They are all young men, unlike me who got married a long time ago. They still need to find partners, and they can’t afford to get disfigured.”
Zhuang Mingcheng nodded; he had almost forgotten about that.
"You have to apply it too. Don't think that everything will be fine just because you're married. I still want to look good in the future."
"Apply it, apply it all."
Zhuang Mingcheng chuckled, picked up the toothpaste and toothbrush, and started brushing his teeth.
After the meal, Zhuang Mingcheng went to the regiment.
Lu Fangfang filled a jar with bear oil and some flour, and put them into a bag.
When she arrived at the farm, she went to greenhouse number two and brought out some more cabbages.
Old Xu herself had no land and was unlikely to have any cabbages or radishes, so she moved a few more.
It's cold now, and the roads are covered in snow. The people at the farm headquarters probably won't have time to cause trouble for Lao Xu. By the time spring comes and the weather gets warmer, Lao Xu will have finished eating all this stuff, and he won't be able to cause any more trouble.
In the courtyard, Xiuxiu was harnessing a sled. She loaded the cabbage onto the sled and prepared to go to Team Six to deliver it to Old Xu.
"Xiuxiu, why don't we wait a while before going? It's too early now, and it's terribly cold."
Lu Fangfang put her hands in her pockets, looked up, and saw that after a few days of sunshine, it looked like the wind was about to blow again.
