Upon hearing this, Jiang Ci raised her eyebrows.
"The city government's head chef?"
Another head popped up and said, "Yeah, right, Comrade Xiao Jiang, doesn't your boyfriend work in the kitchen of the municipal government? Has he come yet?"
Jiang Ci said, "I'm not sure, I'll go take a look in a bit."
She talked with her colleagues outside for a while, glancing around but not noticing Shan Lian.

Guo Zhen paused when he heard the name.
He turned his head and looked in the direction Shan Lian was pointing.
Sure enough, I spotted Jiang Ci.
She sat at a table in the European Affairs Department, near several department heads and ministers, surrounded by a few people who subtly flattered and treated her as the head of the household.
For the past month or so, Guo Zhen has been so busy that he hasn't even thought of Jiang Ci.
When I went to see her again, I was surprised to find that she had become a minor leader in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and even had power over his daughter.
Did Shan Lian know that Jiang Ci and he didn't get along?
Does Jiang Ci know that Shan Lian is his daughter?
No, Jiang Ci should know by now that Shan Lian is Guo Zhen's daughter.
Guo Zhen's expression darkened slightly, but he quickly calmed down again.
He didn't move, telling Shan Lian to stay put and not to run around.
After the senior leaders spoke, people started eating.
Jiang Ci was quite familiar with Zhou Mingli's cooking skills. She picked up a few dishes and found the taste very familiar.
Upon closer examination, I couldn't help but laugh.
"Comrade Xiao Jiang, what are you laughing at?"
Someone asked her.
Jiang Ci's smile remained unchanged as she said, "The taste of the dishes was familiar, and I felt that they were made by my husband, so I couldn't help but smile."
"Really? Which one?"
Jiang Ci then pointed out several dishes.
People at the same table picked some up and tasted it.
"I must say, it's quite delicious."
"Did your wife make this dish, Comrade Xiao Jiang? I ate so much of it!"
Everyone was surprised that Jiang Ci's husband was such a good cook, and they couldn't help but eat quite a bit.
Jiang Ci waited until the dishes were almost served, and figured Zhou Mingli should be done with his work, before she got up and walked out.
Whether Zhou Mingli is there or not, we'll have to go and see for ourselves.
As she walked out of the banquet hall, she heard someone calling her from behind.
"Comrade Jiang Ci".
Jiang Ci turned her head and saw Guo Zhen.
In retrospect, this was her first real conversation with Guo Zhen.
Jiang Ci turned around and stood still. "Director Guo, hello."
Guo Zhen looked Jiang Ci up and down and chuckled, "I really didn't expect Comrade Jiang to be so capable. In just two months, you've been able to take charge on your own."
Jiang Ci remained calm and smiled as well, saying, "I was just lucky that the leader took a liking to me."
Guo Zhen might have believed it if someone else had said it, but Jiang Ci said it was another matter.
The Cheng family stood behind her, and someone was pushing her forward. As long as she didn't make any mistakes, climbing up step by step would be almost no problem.
Guo Zhen then changed his mind and said to Jiang Ci, "Comrade Jiang, I don't think we have any inherent conflict."

“I admire your abilities, Comrade Jiang. Now that Xiao Lian is working under you, I think, if we remove certain unnecessary factors, we are very likely to be friends.”
A shadow of gloom flashed through Jiang Ci's heart.

Guo Zhen suppressed his emotions and said, "It's none of your business what my daughter should or shouldn't do."
