Zhou Mingli stared at her face, his fingers tracing her rosy lips.
"You're off work so late?" His voice was hoarse as he lowered his head and kissed her eyes again.
"Let's go eat... Didn't you taste the oyster soup in my mouth?"
Zhou Mingli looked at her lips and said, "I ate too fast just now and didn't have time to savor it."
Jiang Ci was speechless. She pinched his ear and said, "Let go, I'll take you back."
Zhou Mingli released her waist, but held her hand tightly, their fingers intertwined.
Jiang Ci glanced at it, chuckled, but did not refuse.
He even waved his hand.
In China, the social atmosphere isn't as open yet, and people don't hold hands when they go out, but in New York, you don't have to worry about that.
"Where's your luggage?"
"I'll take you to get it."
Zhou Mingli saw Jiang Ci when she got off the bus. After putting his luggage in a safe place, he planned to go find her.
Unexpectedly, she tried to cross the road. When Zhou Mingli saw the car speeding towards Jiang Ci with its back to her, his heart skipped a beat. The scene that terrified him after he and Jiang Ci came out of the Civil Affairs Bureau flashed through his mind. Without thinking, he rushed over and pulled her back.
Zhou Mingli easily lifted the half-person-high luggage with one hand, and while walking with Jiang Ci, he said to her, "Looking at cars before crossing the road is a principle that Yangyang and Miaomiao both understand, but you can't remember it."
He frowned. "There was a car driving very fast just now."
“That’s because I saw you on the other side and was in a hurry to find you,” Jiang Ci retorted logically. “Otherwise, the driver would have driven me all the way back without me getting out of the car halfway.”
Zhou Mingli looked down at her and said, "Even if you see someone, you can't ignore the road."
Jiang Ci met his gaze and said, "Okay."
This person crossed the Pacific Ocean and took a 13- or 14-hour flight to New York City.
Jiang porcelain cannot be hard-hearted.
She stood on tiptoe and kissed him on the cheek again. "Okay, okay, I'll remember."
"Come here. Have things been arranged for Yangyang, Miaomiao, and the factory?"
Zhou Mingli pulled her to his side and put his arm around her waist. "Yangyang and Miaomiao are at Grandpa's house. Brother Cheng and Sister Ailian took Cheng Ke back to her parents' home. Grandpa and Yangyang and Miaomiao have some company. Zheyue also went there to help with cooking."
"The factory is very stable now, so there won't be any problem if I leave for a week."
One week.
Excluding the travel time, Zhou Mingli can stay in New York for five days.
The place where the driver parked was not far from where Jiang Ci lived, and they arrived in the time it took for the two to talk.
Zhou Mingli looked around and asked, "May I come into your place?"
"Yes, you can just register."
