Chapter 6: Old Lady Yu Scolds Yu Jiaxin

Yu Jiahuan was overjoyed when he heard this: "Yuyu is so well behaved."

Yu Li picked up the cup that Yu Jiahuan had just drunk from, secretly added a few drops of spiritual spring water, and then handed it to Yu Jiahuan: "Aunt, are you thirsty?"

Of course Yu Jiahuan didn't refuse. She happened to be thirsty, so she drank all the water in the cup. She didn't know if it was a psychological effect, but she felt less tired and in a better mood. She thanked Yu Li.

Seeing that she had finished drinking, Yu Li said you're welcome obediently. Thinking that Yu Jiahuan would not die in childbirth, her goal was achieved, so she looked around the house curiously. Seeing her curiosity, Yu Jiahuan introduced it to her.

According to Yu Jiahuan's introduction, her uncle is a truck driver and has to travel around a lot so he is not often at home. This house was allocated by his workplace.

There were two very small rooms, which could barely fit a bed. Yu Li saw that the other room had a bunk bed. Yu Jiahuan told her that her uncle and aunt lived there. Her uncle, Yu Jianle, was attending junior high school in town, and her aunt had volunteered to take care of her sister.

"So where did that dead girl Yu Jiaxin go? She said she would come to take care of you, so why did she leave you alone?" When Yu Jiahuan was talking about Yu Jiaxin, it happened that Old Mrs. Yu came out of the kitchen and heard it, and then she remembered this question.

"Mom, Jiaxin is still young. Anyway, there is nothing to do now, so I let her go out to play."

"It's all because of you. Now at her age, she still wants to play. All the people of the Liu family who are the same age as her have to work in the fields. When you were your age, you were thinking about sharing the burden of the family." Old Mrs. Yu said angrily.

As she was speaking, there was a knock on the door. Old Mrs. Yu went to open the door angrily, and it was indeed Yu Jianle and Yu Jiaxin.

Yu Jiaxin said guiltily, "I'm going out to buy something for my sister."

Seeing her behavior, Old Lady Yu grabbed her hand and hit her: "Tell me again! Where have you been?"

Yu Jiaxin burst into tears: "Mom, why did you hit me as soon as you came? It was my sister who asked me to go out and play."

Old Lady Yu hit her again: "Did you promise me that you would stay to take care of your sister for me?"

"You are biased. Why do you want me to take care of my sister? You bring her all the good things. Why should I go back to the village? I want to live in the town too." Yu Jiaxin simply gave up and said out all the resentment that had been accumulating in her heart for a long time.

"Okay, you are blaming us for giving birth to you. You are not a young lady anymore, right? Then get out of here and find someone in town to take you in." Old Mrs. Yu felt that Yu Jiaxin had never experienced hardship and did not understand how happy her current life was compared to her previous life.

Seeing that Old Lady Yu was angry, Yu Jiahuan pulled Yu Jiaxin into their room. Yu Li walked to Old Lady Yu and took her hand: "Grandma, don't be angry."

Old Lady Yu picked up Yu Li and said to her in a loud voice: "Don't be like your aunt. No matter how good the town is, if you want to live there, you have to rely on your own ability. No matter how poor our family is, we raised her."

Yu Li listened obediently, but she felt that her aunt seemed not to be listening. Just now, she saw a vicious look on Yu Jiaxin's face, and it was obvious that she was dissatisfied with her birth and her parents.

Because of this farce, Old Mrs. Yu was in no mood to stay any longer, for fear of getting upset with her little daughter again. After lunch, she prepared to take Yu Li away despite Yu Jiahuan and Yu Jianle's attempts to keep her.

Before leaving, Old Lady Yu said to Yu Jiahuan, "Don't spoil her. If she can't even take care of you, I'll ask her eldest brother to take her back. I think she's just too idle and has nothing to do, so she's thinking about other things. There's plenty for her to do at home."

"Mom, don't worry, I'm watching her, she won't dare." Yu Jianle said from the side.

Yu Jiahuan also looked helpless: "Mom, why don't you stay a little longer, chat with us and have dinner before going back."

Old Lady Yu held Yu Li in her arms, put on her backpack, and waved, "You know there weren't many people on the way here, and it's not convenient to go back too late. I'll take Yu Yu for a walk along the way so we can have dinner when we get back."

When Yu Jianle heard this, although he also wanted to accompany them, he had classes in the afternoon, and it would not be convenient for Yu Jiahuan since she was pregnant, the two siblings could only watch them leave.

Old Mrs. Yu's anger faded quickly. As she left Yu Jiahuan's house, she said to Yu Li, "Dear, grandma will take you to the supply and marketing cooperative."

"Okay~" Yu Li answered obediently, and the country bumpkin Koi expressed his excitement.

Old Lady Yu was walking slowly with Yu Li in her arms. When she met an old lady carrying a basket, she greeted her: "Oh, I didn't expect to see you here."

Yu Li was very sure that Old Lady Yu didn't know this old lady, but when she saw Old Lady Yu, she said with understanding: "Yes, old sister, this is a visit to relatives."

"Hey, my daughter is about to give birth, isn't this a coincidence?" The old lady pretended to casually lift a small corner of the cloth on the basket, enough for Old Lady Yu to see the white flour buns inside.

Old Mrs. Yu thought for a moment, then secretly pointed at two fingers, and the old woman pointed at a nail. Yu Li realized through mind reading that they were making a deal. In that era, people were not allowed to sell things privately, so they could only do it secretly.
