Unexpectedly, before she could run two steps, Han Yan grabbed her collar from behind.
Lin Shu immediately stopped, shrank his neck, and dared not speak.
Han Yan snorted lightly, let go of her collar, and said in a deep voice: "Turn around."
Lin Shu slowly turned around and faced him, but lowered his head.
"Look at me." Han Yan said again.
Lin Shu slowly raised his head, his eyes dodging, and smiled foolishly: "What a coincidence."
"Why are you here?" Han Yan had a cold face, sharp eyes and a serious voice.
Lin Shu was stunned: "Oh, you are mean to me." She pretended to be aggrieved and tried to get away with it.
Han Yan paused, sighed softly, and his eyes softened. He asked gently, "Why are you here? Don't you know how dangerous it is in the mountains?"
"Being chased by a wild boar once isn't enough, I need it a second time." As he said that, Han Yan raised his hand and flicked her forehead.
Lin Shu covered his forehead with his hands and glared at Han Yan angrily. Noticing that his eyes began to become dangerous again, he quickly turned his gaze away.
"I'm here to pick herbs." Lin Shu explained hurriedly.
Han Yan's eyes began to turn cold again.
"I was just too focused and accidentally got lost." Lin Shu looked aggrieved again and said weakly.
Han Yan stared at Lin Shu for a moment, then hummed softly, seeming to accept her explanation: "Be more careful next time."
Lin Shu nodded quickly and stole a glance at him. It turned out he fell for it.
"Oh, the herbs I picked." Lin Shu suddenly remembered, and said, she was about to go back to the place where she picked herbs last.
Unexpectedly, there was a pain in his foot, and Lin Shu couldn't help but cry out.
"What's wrong?" Han Yan asked quickly.
"It's okay," Lin Shu waved his hand. "I just twisted my foot a little, but I can still walk. I think I twisted it when I accidentally stepped into a small pit while being chased by a wild boar."
Han Yan glanced at Lin Shu's feet and squatted in front of her: "Come up."
Lin Shu's eyes widened in surprise, and he quickly said, "No, no, it just hurts a little bit."
"If you go up the mountain now and come down later, will you still feel a little pain?" Han Yan said.
Lin Shu was stunned, then realized that what he said was right. After hesitating for a moment, he stopped being pretentious.
Lin Shu gently placed his hands on his shoulders, carefully leaned forward, and lay on his back.
Han Yan put his hands around her legs and lifted her up on his back.
Lin Shu couldn't help but lean forward, and the touch in front of her made her lean back quickly, her cheeks burning.
Han Yan paused, carried her on his back, and walked silently for a while before asking, "Which direction?"
"Just go forward in this direction," Lin Shu said, pointing ahead. She remembered that when the wild boar was chasing her, she didn't seem to turn.
Han Yan nodded and carried her in that direction.
Every time he walked a short distance, he would lower his head, as if looking at something on the ground.
"What are you looking at?" Lin Shu couldn't help but ask.
"I'm looking for traces of wild boars running." Han Yan replied.
Lin Shu was stunned for a moment, then suddenly realized that he was questioning the route she pointed out.
"You don't believe the route I pointed out?" Lin Shu said angrily.
Han Yan chuckled but did not refute.
Lin Shu was so angry that he leaned on his shoulder, looked at his face from the side and said, "Why don't you believe me? I have a very good memory."
Han Yan paused for a moment, then continued walking forward. "I remember someone saying the first time they were chased by a wild boar was because they were lost. The second time was the same."
Lin Shu choked for a moment, then muttered softly, "Who says all the trees in this mountain are the same?"
Han Yan chuckled and did not refute.
Lin Shu didn't dare to say anything else, fearing that she would humiliate herself again.
Fortunately, they arrived at their destination quickly.
"It's right there." Lin Shu pointed to a basket full of herbs on the ground not far away.
Han Yan picked up the basket and walked down the mountain carrying Lin Shu on his back.
"Why are you here?" Lin Shu asked Han Yan, shaking his feet unconsciously.
"Training," Han Yan said. "Exchange training with the troops here," he added.
"Oh, I see." Lin Shu didn't ask any more questions, for fear of asking about some confidential things.
"Have you received..." Lin Shu paused. She wanted to ask him if he had received the scarf she sent, but she felt a little embarrassed.
"What did you receive?" Han Yan asked, turning his head.
"Well, that's nothing." Lin Shu avoided his gaze, smiled foolishly, changed the subject, and told him about some things that happened in the team recently.
Since receiving his letter before the Spring Festival, they haven't written to each other for more than two months.
"Your uncle's family..." Lin Shu hesitated for a moment, wondering if Aunt Liang had told Han Yan about this.
"I know." Han Yan said calmly, "This is his own fault."
Lin Shu felt the coldness coming from him.
After a moment of silence, Han Yan stopped and turned his head to ask, "You, do you think I'm unkind and cold-blooded?
Lin Shu shook his head, then realized he couldn't see, so he leaned closer to his shoulder and said softly, "No."
"You are a very good and warm person," Lin Shu added.
"Thank you." Han Yan said, and continued walking.
Lin Shu burst out laughing: "Don't disbelieve me, I'm holding my little heart and saying this, I'm telling the truth."
Han Yan chuckled.
Lin Shu was shocked. She leaned on his shoulder and tilted her head to look at his profile. It was the first time she heard him laugh out loud with such joy.
As if noticing her gaze, Han Yan stopped and turned his head to look at her.
The two looked at each other, and their gazes couldn't help but stick together.
