Chapter 97 Dear

"Yes." Han Yan said, handing him the paper in his hand, "I came here to submit a marriage application this time."

Brigade Commander He took it, looked at it carefully, and his expression became a little serious.

He placed the marriage application on the table and stared at Han Yan: "Is this arranged by your family?"

"No." Han Yan said, "We met on our own, dated normally, and got engaged after both parents agreed?"

"Oh?" Brigade Commander He's eyes sharpened. "Then what's going on between you and Lu Zhi from the Cultural Corps?"

"It doesn't matter at all." Han Yan answered without hesitation, with a hint of doubt in his mind.

Brigadier General He stared at him for a few seconds, then retracted his gaze: "Okay, let me put the application here first."

Although Han Yan was puzzled, he did not refute.

Han Yan walked out of the office.

"Why did it take so long?" Instructor Gao, who was waiting outside the door, asked him puzzledly when he saw him.

"We chatted for a few minutes." Han Yan said calmly.

"Oh." Instructor Gao replied casually, "Then—"

"Come with me to look at houses." Han Yan said.

"What happened just now..." Instructor Gao lowered his eyes and approached him with a look of grievance.

"That thing..." Han Yan stretched out his voice, glanced at him, raised his hand and pushed his face away.

Instructor Gao moved closer, his face full of anticipation.

"It depends on your performance." Han Yan raised the corner of his mouth and walked towards the family compound.

Instructor Gao was taken aback, then followed him, saying in an exaggerated tone, "I'm willing to serve you at my whim..."

After Han Yan left, Brigade Commander He frowned, stared at the marriage application on the table for a few seconds, picked up the phone next to him and dialed.

"Deputy Commander, I'm Xiao He..."

"Hey, the subordinate I mentioned to you last time...his name is Han Yan..."

"Well, he submitted a marriage application..."

"Yes, I did ask..."

"I know him, he wouldn't lie..."

"Well, I promise..."

"OK."

Brigade Commander He hung up the phone, his tense expression relaxed, and he picked up a pen and wrote two words on the marriage application: Agree.

After Han Yan left, Lin Shu was depressed for several days before he recovered.

In the following days, Lin Shu would go to the supply and marketing cooperative regularly to treat Director Zhou, and sometimes Director Zhou would come to the clinic to see her herself.

Perhaps there really is a saying that blood relatives are attracted to each other, and the two quickly became familiar with each other.

Director Zhou's condition has become increasingly stable.

Although he has not recovered his memory yet, Lin Shu feels that he now really treats her as his own daughter.

Not only did he give her instructions every time, he also often gave her a lot of gifts.

Lin Shu once tried to refuse it, but seeing Director Zhou's disappointed look, he no longer refused his kindness.

That day, Lin Shu went to the supply and marketing cooperative to see Director Zhou again. Every time she went, she would ask Xiaoli to accompany her.

Perhaps because it happened so often, it attracted the attention of Han Chunhua, who worked at the counter next to him.

"I thought some people were so noble," Han Chunhua said sarcastically while cracking sunflower seeds. "You looked down on my behavior before, but now you're the one who's rushing to do it."

"You——" Xu Xiaoli wanted to speak.

Lin Shu grabbed her in time. He didn't mention anyone by name, so just treat it as a dog barking.

Lin Shu glanced at her indifferently and wanted to leave with Xu Xiaoli.

"I'm talking about you, Lin Shu!" Han Chunhua suddenly raised her voice, "You're taking advantage of Brother Han Yan's absence to hook up with other women, right? I'm going to tell Uncle Han Shan right now and have him cancel your engagement."

Lin Shu looked at Han Chunhua coldly. Her thin face was covered with thick white powder. Compared with her arrogance before marriage, she now seemed sour and mean.

I guess her life after marriage was not easy. I heard it was because she gave birth to a daughter. Her husband divorced her before because she was infertile.

"Go ahead and tell me if you have the guts." Lin Shu said coldly.

With a bang, Han Chunhua slammed her hand on the table and shrilly said, "Do you think I don't dare?"

"What are you arguing about?" Director Zhou came over at this time.

Director Zhou glanced at Lin Shu gently, then turned to look at Han Chunhua sharply: "What happened?"

"Zhou, Director Zhou." Han Chunhua looked panicked and called out in a low voice.

At this time, Director Qiu, Han Chunhua's husband, hurried over. "Director Zhou," he said to Director Zhou with a flattering smile without asking any questions. "It's all because of my wife's ignorance. I'll ask her to apologize to you right away."

Director Zhou said with a stern face: "Don't apologize to me, apologize to them." Then he glanced at Lin Shu and the others.

"Yes, yes, yes." Director Zhou nodded quickly and turned to Han Chunfang and scolded her, "Why don't you apologize quickly?"

Han Chunhua looked aggrieved and said reluctantly to Lin Shu and the others, "I'm sorry."

Lin Shu nodded, not wanting to argue with her any further.

Director Zhou didn't say much and took Lin Shu and Xu Xiaoli to his resting place.

"You haven't been wronged, have you?" Director Zhou asked with concern.

Lin Shu smiled and shook his head.

As soon as they arrived at the lounge, Director Zhou placed a large round wooden box on the table in front of Lin Shu, like presenting a treasure. He looked at her expectantly and said, "Open it and take a look."

Lin Shu opened the box.

"Wow, so cute." Xu Xiaoli exclaimed.

Inside the box were several exquisite pastries in the shapes of animals and flowers.

"Do you like it?" Director Zhou said with a loving look on his face.

Lin Shu felt warm inside and said with a smile, "I like it very much."

Director Zhou smiled happily. "I booked this with a chef who I had been working on for a long time. It's said that his ancestor was a royal chef in the palace."

Lin Shu felt soft and sad. If so many accidents hadn't happened, they would have been a happy family.
