Chapter 23: Drive Li Hongjuan away

While she was howling, she secretly glanced at Zhang Chunxue's expression, hoping to see some relaxation on that frozen face.

Zhang Chunxue didn't even bother to lift her eyelids, and it was obvious that she was extremely impatient.

"Are you done? You're done, can you go now?"

She turned around, her eyes piercing Zhong Chengfa like knives. "Zhong Chengfa! Are you still standing here acting like a door god? Hurry up and pack up your ex-wife's things! I'm telling you! I'm watching you pack up right here today! If you dare put even a single needle and thread from our Zhong family into her bag, you and your good ex-wife will have to pack up and get out of here!"

When Li Hongjuan heard the word "ex-wife" from Zhang Chunxue's mouth, her mind exploded.

This time, she was really panicked and even forgot to cry.

This old hag...she's serious! She really wants to drive me away!

Li Hongjuan finally couldn't hold it in any longer, she knelt down on the ground, hugged Zhong Hongqing and started crying.

"Mom! I was wrong! It's all my fault! I won't do it again. Please be magnanimous and don't chase me away!"

She wiped her tears and rubbed against Zhang Chunxue's feet. "From now on, I will never dare to eat an extra bite of food again, and I will never dare to say a single word to Chengfa again... Mom, can't I kowtow to you and admit my mistakes?"

If she was really sent back to her parents' home, where would she put her face?

Besides, a daughter who is married off is like spilled water. There is no place for her in her parents' home anymore!

Zhang Chunxue didn't even look at her, and said coldly: "Stop talking nonsense! I'm not an adult, I'm just the evil mother-in-law who abused her daughter-in-law in your words!"

She turned around and looked at Zhong Chengfa coldly: "Zhong Chengfa! What are you still standing there for? Pack your things and send your wife out!"

Zhong Chengfa shrank back in fear when his name was called. He didn't dare look at Li Hongjuan's eyes that were full of expectation, hoping that he would say a few good words. He could only respond humbly, "Oh... OK..."

Li Hongjuan was so angry that she wanted to punch the wall.

This bastard, is he really planning to send her away?

Zhong Chengfa walked slowly to the kang, took out Li Hongjuan's clothes, shoes and socks from the cabinet, and took out the few dollars and two old towels she had hidden under her pillow, and stuffed them all into the rag bag.

Seeing this, Li Hongjuan became even more flustered. She no longer cared about hinting and quickly stepped forward, grabbing Zhong Chengfa's arm and refusing to let go. She lowered her voice to a very low level, "Chengfa, please help me beg Mom. I really can't go back to my parents' home. Those sisters-in-law are waiting to see me laugh!"

Zhong Chengfa gnashed his teeth and muttered softly, "Who told you to be greedy and make Mom angry?"

"You!" Li Hongjuan widened her eyes, looking at her man's cowardly look, feeling anxious and hateful, but at this moment she didn't have the energy to make a fuss.

She wanted to beg Zhang Chunxue again, but Zhang Chunxue just looked at her with disgust and indifference.

Thinking of the change in Zhang Chunxue's attitude towards her during this period, and thinking about how she was once a precious daughter-in-law who gave birth to a grandson but now became even worse than Zhou Mingli, that little bitch who gave birth to a little girl, Li Hongjuan's anger rose.

She had a bad temper to begin with, but because she was under the pressure of Zhang Chunxue at home, she never showed it much. Now that Zhang Chunxue was clearly about to kick her out, Li Hongjuan was also angry.

She stopped pretending.

She turned to look at Zhang Chunxue, pouring out all her rage. "Zhang Chunxue, you think you're such a good person! You used to favor boys over girls and treated Xiaoxiao like a servant. Now that Xiaoxiao has been admitted to school and been praised by the leaders, you're fawning over her? And now you have the nerve to criticize me! What? Aren't you afraid that the villagers will criticize you and say you change your face faster than turning the pages of a book?"

"Bah!" Zhang Chunxue didn't bother to pay any attention to her. She just swung the stick and smashed it hard on the edge of the kang. "If you say another word, I'll break your legs next time and you won't be able to crawl out of this door!"

The sound was so loud that it startled all the chickens, ducks and dogs in the house and made them scream.

Li Hongjuan screamed in fear and jumped up to hide in the corner, not daring to breathe.

Zhong Chengfa didn't dare to delay any longer. He took two steps at a time and stuffed the bag into Li Hongjuan's arms, then pushed her towards the gate of the courtyard.

"Hurry up, or you'll be obedient if mom really beats you up!"

After leaving the courtyard, the wind blew towards them. Li Hongjuan stood under the locust tree, trying to struggle one last time. She hugged her child tightly and cried loudly.

"What the hell is this?! My mother and I have been kicked out. How am I supposed to live our lives from now on? It was your cruel mother who forced us to do this. She just wanted to break up our little family because she was jealous of our good life!"

After saying that, she turned around and accused Zhong Chengfa, "You're also a coward. You only know how to listen to old women. If you have the guts, come back to your parents' home with me now. Let's see if you can come back and eat ready-made meals in the future!"

Zhong Cheng had a complicated expression. He lowered his head, kicked a stone, and whispered, "Go back for a few days and let my mother calm down. I'll find another opportunity to talk to her about it, and I'll definitely take you back when the time comes."

He paused and added, "Who told you to be so greedy? Now that you're fine, it's all your fault."

Hearing this, Li Hongjuan felt relieved and finally felt that there was still room for easing the situation.

She wiped the snot and tears from her face, wiped the child's face with her sleeve, and said sternly, "Remember what I said today. If you want me to come back later, it won't be so easy!"

After saying that, she picked up Zhong Hongqing, held her head high and chest high, and swaggered out of the village, ready to go back to her mother's home in the next village.
