Chapter 91 Tang Bainian's Flirting

Yang Qingheng opened her eyes in a daze and grabbed Tang Bainian's clothes: "Tang Bainian, it hurts."

Tang Bainian couldn't stop the tears from flowing, but he didn't know where to put his hands, afraid of hurting her: "Where does it hurt? Let's go to the hospital, let's go to the hospital."

Yang Qingheng took a breath, got up, and gritted her teeth, kicking Li Zichang twice on the ground: "You dog!"

"I'll carry you out." Without waiting for her reply, Tang Bainian picked her up and rushed out the door.

A clinic not far from the police station.

Yang Qingheng rubbed her back, wincing in pain.

The old Chinese medicine doctor pressed a plaster firmly onto her skin: "You're suffering, young lady. What kind of beast would do such a cruel thing?"

"A male dog in heat, running around everywhere." Yang Qingheng spat.

The old Chinese medicine doctor clicked his tongue twice: "Who is so immoral as to let their dog run around everywhere? Aren't they afraid someone will steal it and eat it? Luckily you ran fast and only bumped into it. Otherwise, if you had been bitten, it wouldn't have been so easy to deal with. You would have had to go to the hospital for a shot, which would have cost you a lot of money."

Yang Qingheng nodded. Fortunately, Tang Bainian arrived quickly, otherwise it wouldn't have been worth the blow today.

Just as she turned to thank him, she saw that Tang Bainian's eyes were red and swollen, and he looked as sad and remorseful as if he were dead.

She couldn't help but burst out laughing: "Tang Bainian, why are you making that face? Anyone who didn't know better would think you're attending my funeral."

"What nonsense are you spouting!" Tang Bainian frowned, his expression cryptic.

"I didn't realize you were so superstitious," Yang Qingheng chuckled, shrugged, and pretended to be nonchalant. "Don't worry, the old man said that since no bones were broken, it will be fine in ten days to half a month."

"No, don't go back to the police station today. Come stay at my house for the day." Tang Bainian picked up the medicine bag next to him and helped her outside.

Yang Qingheng was also scared, but it was so late, Zhou Shuwen should already be asleep, and going there would only be a disturbance.

He shook his head: "Forget it, take me to a nearby guesthouse. I'll stay there for the night and go to the police station to give a statement tomorrow morning."

Tang Bainian didn't want his aunt to worry, so he nodded and said, "Okay."

The next morning, after Yang Qingheng finished giving her statement, she ate breakfast in Tang Bainian's office before heading back.

“Have this meat bun. It’s from the state-run restaurant. My aunt loves it. She can eat three every time I buy it,” Tang Bainian picked up the chopsticks next to him and put a bun on her plate. “I’ve already told my uncle about Li Zichang. It’s considered attempted rape, but the surveillance cameras in that detention center are broken…”

He paused, clearly not entirely satisfied with the outcome.

Yang Qingheng had anticipated this outcome and was not surprised. Li Zichang wasn't even afraid of Tang Bainian's uncle, so he must have some connections. Obtaining a surveillance video wouldn't be difficult for him.

Even if they have surveillance footage, given his connections, they can't do anything to him; at most, they'll just lock him up for a few days.

He took a bite of the steamed bun and said, "Just tell me what the punishment is."

Tang Bainian's face turned ugly: "Fighting, five days of detention."

"Okay, let's leave it at that." Yang Qingheng's eyes were deep and unfathomable.

The next second, Tang Bainian revealed her inner thoughts: "I know what you want to do. Your people aren't clean enough. I'll do it myself. The police won't be able to find out."

Yang Qingheng was surprised. She looked up, paused for two seconds, and nodded: "Hit me harder. I want to pay back tenfold."

"Don't worry." Tang Bainian's lips curled slightly, and his eyes were filled with a gentle smile. If Yang Qingheng hadn't known exactly what kind of petty theft they were talking about, she would have thought she was flirting with him.

"Are you full? I'll take you home to rest." Tang Bainian saw that the porridge in her bowl was empty and picked up the car keys next to him.

Yang Qingheng put down her chopsticks and followed him out the door.

Just outside the police station, Yang Qingheng spotted two familiar figures approaching from afar.

She frowned, suddenly stopped, glanced at Xu Lan beside her, and looked at Song Hengjue: "Mom is still in the hospital, what are you doing here?"

Doesn't he, as Yao Ying's son, know her current health condition? Instead of staying at the hospital to take care of her, he's running around with his mistress!

Song Hengjue was about to say that he had already made arrangements, but when he looked at Tang Bainian next to Yang Qingheng, he felt a lump in his throat. Although he was unwilling, he had to admit that he did see a good match between the two.

His mouth was out of control: "Mind your own business."

“That’s right, the baby in my belly is her grandson. Even if my mother-in-law finds out, she won’t care.” Xu Lan’s eyes darted between the two of them, and she touched her belly smugly.

Upon hearing this, Tang Bainian was startled and looked at Yang Qingheng in surprise.

To his disappointment, Yang Qingheng remained expressionless, clearly having known about it all along.

He left with a "Take care of yourself" message and turned to leave.

Judging from Song Hengjue's expression, he obviously didn't know about Yang Qingheng's business in the black market, and it's likely that Yang Qingheng hadn't told him about her business there either.

Tang Bainian realized this and felt refreshed.

Even her aunt knew about this, but her husband didn't. It seems that Yang Qingheng didn't trust Song Hengjue as much as she thought.

"I thought I'd seen enough strange things in my line of work, but I never expected to find out today that there are even stranger things. One of you got pregnant out of wedlock and openly destroyed someone else's family, while the other abandoned his wife and didn't even care about his own mother. You two are really a perfect match, a perfect match." Tang Bainian said with his hands behind his back, maintaining a gentle and refined demeanor even in his sarcastic tone.

"Some people act like gentlemen on the surface, but actually they're always eyeing other people's women. If other people knew that Officer Tang, who is so virtuous and upright, was like this in private, wouldn't they be shocked?" Song Hengjue couldn't stand his smug attitude and mocked him.
