Chapter 23 Seating Dispute

Sigh... Old Xia has to manage the company's work all by himself, and he also has to be both a father and a mother to her, protecting her physical and mental health. It must be tough for him!

Old Xia, who has always been a strong-willed person, might not be able to accept being transmigrated into a paralyzed person!

Xia Wan was in a mess thinking about what her father might have gone through. When she returned to her seat, she found someone sitting there, and Huang Qiujie was glaring at Li Zhenzhen with an angry look on his face.

"Comrade, you've taken my seat!" Xia Wan frowned as she looked at Li Zhenzhen sitting in her seat.

At this moment, a woman holding a child was already sitting in Li Zhenzhen's seat. When Xia Wan returned, the woman closed her eyes and looked as if she was asleep.

"Wanwan, I'm not feeling well, can I sit here for a while?" Li Zhenzhen leaned weakly against the car wall.

Xia Wan laughed in anger, and her voice turned cold as she spoke again: "No, stand up from my seat now!"

"Wanwan, I'm really not feeling well. We're all educated youth sent to the countryside, we should help each other!" Li Zhenzhen lowered her eyes, a hint of malice flashing in them.

“This woman looks unwell. Why don’t you let her sit down for a while?”

At this moment, a young man in the window seat behind them suddenly spoke up, his gaze towards Xia Wan carrying a hint of reproach.

Once he started speaking, others joined in the persuasion.

"That's right! We were all sent to the countryside together to build our beautiful motherland, and we should help our comrades in need!"

"Yes, young comrade, you should be more tolerant and less petty!"

Seeing everyone speaking up for her, Li Zhenzhen became even more smug; she was a master at feigning helplessness!

Xia Wan has a foxy face and an arrogant demeanor, but right now she has no choice but to back down.

With so many people speaking up for her, how could Xia Wan possibly provoke public anger? She simply wouldn't get up from her seat; let's see what she could do then.

The more Li Zhenzhen thought about it, the more confident she felt, since everyone around her was speaking up for her!

Xia Wan looked at the woman in front of her who was pushing her luck, and couldn't help but sneer inwardly.

She wouldn't be easily fooled by such a little trick, and she didn't want to waste any more time with her.

"I'm not feeling well either. If you stand up now, I'll pretend nothing happened. Otherwise, don't blame me if I do something wrong later!"

Xia Wan stared at her intently, showing no intention of yielding or giving up her seat!

Seeing Xia Wan's assertive demeanor, those around her felt even more sorry for Li Zhenzhen, and some meddlesome people couldn't help but speak up and criticize her!

"What's wrong with you, young man? Didn't you see that girl was almost crying from distress?"

"How can you, a woman, have no compassion at all? Aren't you an educated youth? What's wrong with helping others?"

"These city kids nowadays are so selfish, unlike us country folk who all know how to help each other!"

Those who criticized Xia Wan were mostly people who bought standing tickets, but when they said that city kids were all selfish, some educated youth couldn't sit still.

They started chirping softly, and some even joined in trying to persuade Xia Wan to be more helpful!

But they forgot that they themselves were sitting, and some were even sitting by the window!

Xia Wan smiled and looked at the young man who had told her to unite, asking, "You want to help the female comrade, right? You're willing to help her just because you think she's weak?"

"Of course...we're all educated youth sent to the countryside, so we should help each other!" The man retorted, seemingly convinced that he was absolutely right!

Xia Wan chuckled and turned to look at Li Zhenzhen, who was standing to the side looking aggrieved: "Feeling unwell? Can't get up?"

“Yes… Wanwan…” Li Zhenzhen thought she had admitted defeat, and a smug look flashed in her eyes.

Xia Wan nodded: "Okay... I'll help you..."

As he said this, to everyone's bewilderment, he lifted Li Zhenzhen from her seat.

She spoke softly to those around her, "Excuse me, everyone, please make way. These two comrades need to change seats!"

"Ah... Xia Wan, what are you doing!" Li Zhenzhen exclaimed in surprise.

She was now hanging horizontally in the air. The carriage was crowded, and Xia Wan's movements were not gentle, so her head kept bumping into something.

"What for? Of course, I'm going to help you change seats!" With that, Xia Wan pulled her directly in front of the man who had spoken earlier, smiling brightly: "Good comrade who likes to help others, why don't you stand up quickly? Give him your seat?"

Although she had a bright smile and a gentle voice, she still scared the people around her half to death!

Who would have thought that such a petite and delicate girl would resort to violence at the slightest provocation? And she even managed to lift up a woman who looked heavier than her with one hand!

"Xia Wan, you bitch, put me down!" Li Zhenzhen was in a daze from being held captive, but no matter how she struggled, it was no use. She was in great pain!

Xia Wan frowned, her gaze falling on the young man, and said to Li Zhenzhen, "Don't make a fuss, I'll help you change seats! Aren't you feeling unwell?"

After saying that, he turned to the man and asked, "Comrade, do you need my help too? Or can you stand up yourself?"

"What...do you want to do? What right do you have to make me stand up?" The man stiffened his neck, his eyes darting around.

Xia Wan scoffed: "I gave you a chance to help the women, weren't you just spouting off a bunch of high-sounding principles? Why aren't you willing to get up now?"

The young man's face turned red with frustration, unable to utter a single word. He wasn't stupid; how could he possibly be willing to make the change!

When it doesn't involve their own interests, anyone can speak with righteous indignation, but now that they're asking men to give up their seats, aren't they just spineless themselves?

Xia Wan didn't want to waste time with the young man. The carriage was crowded, and she didn't want to stand!

Seeing that the man didn't move, she went straight up, ripped him away, and threw him into the aisle, where he landed right on the people who had spoken up for Li Zhenzhen!

Don't you like helping people? Then let's all help together!

With the seat empty, Xia Wan effortlessly tossed Li Zhenzhen onto the chair! Before anyone could react, she slapped her across the face again!

"Shut your filthy, foul-smelling mouth that spews filth! It's disgusting!"

[Congratulations, host! You have received 2 points from Li Zhenzhen's contribution, bringing your total to 24 points. Keep up the good work!]

Xia Wan slightly curled her lips, and seeing the young man sitting in the aisle blocking her way, she asked in a cold voice, "Do you need any help?"

"You...no...no need..." The man met her cold gaze and felt inexplicably timid.

Xia Wan smiled and nodded: "Then get up, don't block the way! Your spot is by the window, which is her favorite spot! You two can switch, and it will satisfy your desire to help others!"
