Xia Wan remained calm, merely turning her head slightly to glance indifferently at the group of thugs who were jeering and whistling on the sidelines.
Then, with a blank expression, she said, "I have some important news. If you want to know, come out with me." Before she finished speaking, she turned and walked towards the door without hesitation.
Just then, a drunken, flushed-faced thug, oblivious to his surroundings, reached out and tugged at Xia Wan's sleeve, swearing, "Hey girl, don't go! Is there something I can't hear about? Come on, let's have a good chat!"
Xia Wan's eyes turned cold, and she quickly turned around, kicking the thug hard in the stomach.
With a scream of pain, the thug flew several meters away like a kite with a broken string, crashing heavily to the ground and writhing in pain.
Seeing this, the other thugs stood up, rubbing their hands together, and assumed a menacing stance to surround Xia Wan.
However, Xia Wan showed no fear. She kicked again, this time aiming at the thick wooden table next to her.
With a loud "crack," the sturdy wooden table was shattered by Xia Wan's kick, sending wood chips flying everywhere.
This sudden scene stunned everyone present, and for a moment, no one dared to make any rash moves.
Guo Zheng was also startled. He was stunned for several seconds before he came to his senses.
Looking at the exceptionally skilled and domineering woman before him, he was secretly amazed. After hesitating for a moment, he quickly followed Xia Wan out of the room.
Once they reached a relatively quiet spot outside, Guo Zheng couldn't wait to ask, "What exactly do you want to tell me? And how did you know...?"
He paused suddenly, seemingly finding it difficult to speak, but Xia Wan had already guessed what he wanted to say from his unfinished words.
Xia Wan snorted coldly, a mocking smile playing on her lips: "What do you know? I know you're so spineless. Your own son was killed by someone else, and you can still act like nothing happened and serve as a servant to your enemy? It's utterly laughable!"
Guo Zhen's mouth gaped open, his throat feeling as if it were stuffed with cotton; he couldn't utter a single word. He stared wide-eyed at the unfamiliar woman before him, his heart filled with confusion and shock. She had just said her son had been murdered—what did that mean?
Just then, Xia Wan, who had been observing Guo Zhen's reaction, spoke up: "Judging from your expression, you really seem to know nothing about these things. Let me tell you, do you know that your wife had a miscarriage because of Guo Zhen? And what's worse, your eldest son was secretly given sterilization drugs!"
Upon hearing this, Guo Zhen's pupils constricted sharply, and he froze on the spot as if struck by lightning. He stared at Xia Wan in disbelief, his voice trembling as he asked, "You...what did you say? How is this possible? How did you know all this? Why should I believe anything you say?"
Faced with Guo Zhen's barrage of questions, Xia Wan simply shrugged and offered no further explanation. She then reached into her bag and pulled out a small tape recorder, pressing play without hesitation.
