Xia Wan tidied herself up and went to bed early, but she didn't expect that she would hear a noise coming from her bedroom door while she was half asleep. It must have been the sound of someone trying to pry it open from the outside.
Xia Wan suddenly perked up and sat up straight in bed, not out of fear, but out of excitement.
This is giving her points!
The commotion outside the door continued; it sounded like two people were talking in hushed tones.
"There's a young woman staying here. I saw her check in tonight."
"Then let's hurry up. She's just a young woman. If we go straight in, she definitely won't dare to make a sound."
Xia Wan's eyes lit up as she lay back down on the bed, waiting for the two to walk right into her trap. She wondered how many points they would give her!
She lay quietly on the bed, her ears keenly listening for any sounds outside the door.
Xia Wan knew that two thieves outside were trying to pry open the door; she could even hear something turning the latch.
Unfortunately, after waiting for ages, those two idiots outside hadn't made any progress at all. Xia Wan chuckled and muttered under her breath, "Useless trash!"
She sat up gently from the bed, dressed herself, but the two men hadn't made any progress yet.
"What's going on? Why can't I turn the latch on this door?" The person outside the door was clearly getting anxious.
The other person was silent for a moment, then said in a deep voice, "I'll give it a try."
Xia Wan walked directly to the door and kindly moved the latch for them, wanting to lend them a hand.
Sure enough, the people outside opened the door quickly. Xia Wan looked towards the door and wondered which two idiots were trying to steal something and were not even prepared to come here and embarrass themselves!
Two tall men walked in.
The two men were so shocked to see Xia Wan sitting on the edge of the bed that they froze on the spot. It took them a while to realize why this girl wasn't sleeping in the middle of the night. It turned out that after they had been trying to break into the house, she had overheard the whole thing!
One of the men looked at Xia Wan and glared at her fiercely, saying, "Little wench, hand over all your money and tickets so I don't have to use my hands!"
"Useless! You've been trying to pry open the door for ages. If I hadn't made things easy for you, you two wouldn't even be able to get in." Xia Wan looked at the two of them with disdain, her pursed lips clearly showing her disgust.
"You shameless woman! Second Brother, don't waste your breath on her, let's arrest her first!" The two men were enraged by her scolding, and one of them reached out to grab her.
Xia Wan nimbly dodged and quickly grabbed the man's wrist, twisting it forcefully.
The man cried out in pain, "Ah! You bitch, how dare you hit me!"
Xia Wan pressed down harder, saying, "Tsk tsk, is this any good? Xi Gou? You're a thief, don't you know how to keep your voice down? Don't you have any professional ethics? You've woken people up in the middle of the night!"
Seeing this, another man, known as the Second Brother, attempted to ambush Xia Wan, but she kicked him away.
Xia Wan looked at them coldly, her heart unmoved, and yawned, saying, "Are you going to leave on your own, or wait for me to do it?"
The two thieves exchanged a glance, realizing they'd met their match and were doomed. They scrambled away as fast as they could.
Xia Wan watched their disheveled figures, a slight smile playing on her lips. They must have gotten quite a few points this time.
Upon opening the system panel, wow! These two actually contributed 50 points!
Xia Wan's gaze fixed on one spot, and suddenly she felt a chill. There was one of them who was labeled a human trafficker.
In that instant, her legs reacted faster than her brain, and she dashed off in the direction the two had left.
Fortunately, the two were not fast enough. Before they could even leave the guesthouse, Xia Wan kicked them both to the ground.
Because the system hadn't announced anything, she didn't know which of the two was the human trafficker, so she could only kick them both down.
Fortunately, they were just two good-for-nothings with no fighting skills whatsoever.
The commotion they made also alerted the staff who were resting in the duty room.
"What are you doing? Why aren't you resting in the middle of the night? What are you making a scene here for?" It was the same waiter who had booked Xia Wan's room who came out, rubbing his head, clearly still not fully awake.
"Comrade, these two are thieves! They tried to break into my room!" Xia Wan didn't care whether the waiter was sober or not, and pointed at the two people on the ground, saying, "I need to call the police and have them taken away!"
"A thief?" The waiter was instantly jolted awake, looking at the two people on the ground. After recognizing them, his pupils contracted slightly, and it took him a while to react: "No thief, no thief, this is my colleague. Young man, go back to sleep, it's alright, it's alright!"
Seeing that Xia Wan was a young girl, the waiter thought she would be easy to deal with, so he waved to her and was about to help the two of them up.
Xia Wan frowned: "I told you that these two people were trying to break into my room. I'm demanding that the police be called..."
"I'm not saying this to you, but can't you understand human language? These two people are our staff here. What do you mean by breaking into your room? That's all a misunderstanding. You've got the wrong person!" The waiter interrupted Xia Wan impatiently.
"Yes, yes...it's all a misunderstanding, all a misunderstanding." The man, who was helped up by the waiter, hurriedly said, "Sister, my second brother and I didn't break into her room. We were just passing by. This woman is crazy and talking nonsense. Sister, please send her away quickly."
"Young lady, you should go back now. Did you have a nightmare in the middle of the night? It's dangerous outside, so don't go out at night." The man, known as Second Brother, said, half-persuading and half-threatening.
Xia Wan wasn't stupid; she could tell by now that the three knew each other, and that the waiter was clearly protecting the two men.
She sneered and pressed her advantage: "In that case, let's go straight to the police station. Whether you broke in or not, whether you're thieves or not, let the police decide!"
If they were just thieves, that would be one thing, but one of them is a human trafficker with a lot of criminal records, so they definitely can't be let go.
The waiter clearly knew the two men, and it seemed like this kind of thing had happened quite a few times before. These people absolutely couldn't be let off the hook!
"Little girl, hurry up and go to sleep. Don't cause trouble here. This is a guesthouse. The people staying here are either leaders or important figures. This is not a place for you to mess around," the waiter threatened.
Xia Wan sneered, not intimidated at all: "How come I didn't know I was an important person? You gave way to someone as insignificant as me, didn't you? Since you're all leaders, why don't you call all the leaders out and let us judge this?"
Xia Wan's unyielding attitude made the waiter even more impatient. A sinister glint flashed in her eyes as she glanced at the two men.
"Hey, what's wrong with you, little wench? Can't you understand human language? Why are you making a scene in the middle of the night?" The second brother said, giving another man a meaningful look: "Hua Zi! Arrest her first!"
"Sister, call our men out first, let this little wench experience what we're made of!"
