Chapter 57 Getting a Certificate

The next morning, Cheng Jiawen got up early and dressed. He wore a brand new shirt inside and his worn cotton-padded jacket outside. He put the new clothes that Xu's mother made for him yesterday carefully into his backpack, ready to take them back to the photo studio to change.

He thought that he would have to ride a bike later, so he didn't wear it yet to avoid getting his clothes dirty.

When Cheng's mother saw him standing in the yard neatly dressed in brand new clothes and pants, with a look of joy on his face, she couldn't help feeling jealous and kept muttering to herself: The Xu family really has no son. They got him married and treated him so well, buying him new clothes and pants. Do they really treat him as their own son?

My son is the same. He is impossible to raise. My family has raised him for so many years, but he forgot his mother as soon as he got married. Look at him these days. He goes to Xu's house every day. Others say that he is a gigolo, but he doesn't care. He just goes to Xu's house every day.

Cheng Jiawen saw Cheng's mother standing in the yard, greeted her lightly, put on his backpack and prepared to go out.

Seeing this, Cheng's mother immediately called out to him, "Old Four."

Cheng Jiawen turned around and looked at Cheng's mother, "Mom, what's wrong?"

"Well, are you going to get your marriage certificate with Xu Qianjiao today?" Cheng's mother pursed her lips and asked a little unnaturally.

Cheng Jiawen was a little confused. Didn't she already know this? He'd already told her, so why was she asking now? Was he trying to pull some nasty tricks again?

He nodded and said, "Yes, I plan to take Jiaojiao to get the marriage certificate today."

"Oh, so, go ahead." Mother Cheng nodded expressionlessly, then instructed, "Go early and come back early."

"Um, okay." Cheng Jiawen scratched his head, a little confused, but he didn't intend to say much. Jiaojiao was still waiting for him, and he didn't want to waste time on meaningless things.

After he finished speaking, he hurried out. Mother Cheng felt a little uncomfortable when she saw how impatient he was, but she couldn't say anything more.

"Mom, what are you looking at?" As soon as Brother Cheng walked out of the room, he saw his mother looking at the door. He didn't know what she was thinking, so he hurried forward to show concern.

Mother Cheng turned around and saw her second son looking at her with concern. She felt much better in an instant. She smiled at Second Brother Cheng and said, "It's okay, I'm just a little tired."

When Cheng Erge heard Mother Cheng say she was tired, he quickly snatched the basin from her hand and shouted towards the room, "Wife, come out quickly."

When Mrs. Cheng heard Mr. Cheng's call, she ran out of the room without even having time to comb her hair, "What's wrong? What's wrong? Why are you calling so urgently?"

Brother Cheng snatched the basin from his mother and stuffed it into Sister Cheng's hands, saying as if it was a matter of course: "Mom is tired, please help wash these clothes."

After saying that, without waiting for Cheng Ersao to say anything, she helped his mother into the house, and said as she walked: "Mom, from now on, just let your daughter-in-law wash the clothes. There is no need to do it yourself. Come, I will help you go back and rest."

"Oh, I know you are filial, mother knows it." Mother Cheng patted Cheng Erge's hand and said with pretended emotion.

The mother and son looked very loving and filial, and both went back to the house to rest, leaving Cheng Ersao standing there angrily with a tray in her hand.

Her face was filled with anger, and she cursed inwardly, "Cheng Lao Er, if you want to be a filial son, why don't you go and wash? You only call me, haha, you are a well-known filial son in the surrounding area, but in the end, I am the one who suffers."

After saying that, she walked towards the river holding her clothes in indignation. It was because she was cowardly and did not dare to resist him that her life became more difficult. There was nothing she could do. She gave birth to two girls because of her own misfortune. He was always talked about in the village, so she could not stand up straight in front of him.

On this side, Cheng Jiawen walked quickly towards Xu's house. As soon as he entered the door, he saw Xu Qianjiao already dressed up and standing in the yard waiting.

She wore a white turtleneck sweater with black pants today, which looked great.

"Jiaojiao~" he called her in a low voice.

Xu Qianjiao smiled and walked towards him quickly, "You're here, have some breakfast first."

After saying that, he ran to the kitchen, took out the sweet potato and eggs that Xu's mother had cooked in advance, and stuffed them into Cheng Jiawen's hands. Then, he ran to the kitchen and made a cup of malted milk for the two of them.

Cheng Jiawen took the things and went into the house with Xu Qianjiao, sitting on the kang and enjoying the first meal of the day.

"Here." Cheng Jiawen peeled an egg and handed it to Xu Qianjiao.

Xu Qianjiao took it and took a bite happily, "Mmm, delicious, the malted milk tastes good too, sweet."

She took a sip of malted milk, and it tasted rich and milky. The taste was smooth and mellow, sweet but not greasy. It was really good and delicious.

The two sat for a while to digest the food, then Cheng Jiawen stood up to clear the table and asked, "Are you full? If you are, we'll set off."

Xu Qianjiao stood up, breathed a sigh of relief, and touched her stomach. "I'm full, we can go now."

"Okay." Cheng Jiawen quickly washed the cups and bowls, wiped the table, then pushed his bicycle out of the room and stood in the yard waiting for Xu Qianjiao.

Xu Qianjiao looked in the mirror again and confirmed that everything was correct. "Let's go."

-------------------------------------

In the cold winter, the pale sun casts a weak light, bringing a touch of warmth to the world. Two people ride their bicycles slowly forward, and their figures on the bicycles appear particularly clear in the sunlight.
