Chapter 4 Cooking

"Third Uncle, I'm going back to my room to change my clothes." Jiang Wang tugged at Jiang Nanqiu's clothes, acting like a little adult.

"Go ahead!" Jiang Nanqiu chuckled, nodded to indicate that she understood, and then put Jiang Xing down.

"If you two keep arguing, Mom and my sister-in-law will come." He said casually as he sat down, glancing at the two still bickering.

The two choked at the same time, then looked at Jiang Nanqiu with a shared sense of righteous indignation.

This kid knew their lifeline the moment he opened his mouth; it didn't feel good at all.

Jiang Nanqiu sat to the side, completely unaffected; he was used to it.

"Why are you here? Go sit down and rest." Jiang's mother had just put down the kitchen knife when she saw her beloved daughter come in.

"Let me help you and your sister-in-law!" Jiang Anxia looked around, but there really wasn't anywhere she could help.

However, she won't go out.

"Xiaxia, go find Wangwang and Xingxing to play. It's too smoky here." Zhou Laidi looked at her with disapproval.

"Let me help you start the fire!" Jiang Anxia was reluctant, but she also wanted to do what she could.

"Auntie, Auntie, I've come to find you!" Little Jiang arrived before she even spoke.

“This girl…” Zhou Laidi originally wanted to raise Jiang Xing into a quiet and generous girl, but somehow, as she raised her, she went astray.

She tried to turn things around, but it turned out she was overthinking it; it was simply impossible.

"Sister-in-law, Xingxing is doing very well." Jiang Anxia protected Jiang Xing, not letting her suffer any grievances.

"You should just spoil her!" Zhou Laidi shook her head helplessly, then quickly began washing the pot and preparing to cook.

Jiang Anxia didn't care what Zhou Laidi said. She knew from the original owner's memories that these two little ones had grown up with the original owner since they were little.

In the past, during busy farming seasons, all the adults in the family would go out, leaving only the original owner at home to take care of the two of them.

Therefore, Jiang Wang and Jiang Xing were more attached to the original owner since childhood.

In their hearts, their aunt is the best.

Jiang Anxia sat with Jiang Xing at the stove entrance, watching the fire inside.

Occasionally, add one or two sticks to make the fire burn brighter.

The reason she knows how to start a fire is because the original owner of this body did it before!

The original owner of this body could cook some simple dishes, but not anything complicated.

"Auntie, smell it, it smells so good!" Jiang Xing sniffed hard, her eyes fixed on the stove.

Because she was too small, she couldn't see inside the pot; she could only see the outside of the stove.

Upon hearing Jiang Xing's words, Jiang Anxia straightened up and looked into the pot. Then she picked Jiang Xing up so that she could see it too.

Zhou Laidi was stir-frying the vegetables in the pan; it was lettuce stir-fried with pork.

It looks delicious; I want to eat it.

"Two little gluttons." Jiang's mother had just finished tidying up the things on the stove when she saw her two little gluttons staring intently at the pot.

"Mom, it's because my sister-in-law's cooking smells so good," Jiang Anxia argued, resolutely refusing to admit that she was a little glutton.

“Yes! Grandma, it’s because Mom’s cooking smells so good.” Little Jiang Xing continued, echoing her aunt’s words.

"Don't give me that, you little glutton will always be a little glutton." Mother Jiang laughed in exasperation. These two aunt and niece were really on the same side.

Oh! No, we need to add one more: the third aunt and niece.

"Mom, you can't talk about her aunt, or she'll get angry," Zhou Laidi teased the two of them with a smile.

Then, once the dish was cooked, I took out a bowl, scooped it out, and used a brush to clean the pan before cooking the next dish.

"Oh dear, do they think they can fly to the sky?" Jiang's mother exclaimed, then squinted her eyes as she answered.

Jiang Anxia and little Jiang Xing exchanged a glance, then spoke at the same time: "Wangwang (brother), someone is bullying us."

The sound was so loud that the whole courtyard could hear it.

Jiang's mother and Zhou Laidi exchanged a glance. Good heavens, they even called for outside help!

Hearing his aunt/sister calling out in the main room, Jiang Wang sighed and rubbed his forehead.

How did he end up with these two?

The aunt who clearly protected him and his sister when they were little is becoming more and more childish.

However, considering that his aunt had taken care of him, he still went to see her, though he would never admit that he was worried about her.

There's not much to worry about, since Grandma and Mom are just joking around with them.

"Wangwang, come quick! Those two ganged up on me and Xingxing." Jiang Anxia didn't feel embarrassed at all about complaining to a little kid.

If only someone could help them get back on their word.

"Mommy, Grandma, you can't mention Auntie and Sister, or Xingxing will cry." Jiang Wang looked at Zhou Laidi and her mother with a serious expression.

Little did they know, Zhou Laidi and Jiang's mother were secretly laughing their heads off. She was still just a child, yet she stood up for her aunt and sister. It was hilarious no matter how you looked at it.

"Alright, alright, we won't say anymore, we won't say anymore." Jiang's mother held back her twitching lips, but still pretended that nothing had happened as she looked at Jiang Wang.

Jiang Anxia noticed her mother's twitching lips as she spoke, and she knew why her mother was laughing.

Because she also wanted to laugh.

Zhou Laidi turned her head away, choosing to avoid Jiang Wang's silent laughter, but heaven knows, suppressing her voice was also a very difficult thing.

Jiang Xing thought her brother was right, and if her mother and grandmother said anything more, she would cry in front of them.

This made them afraid to mess with her and her aunt.

She wanted to protect her aunt and not let anyone bully her, not even her grandmother or mother.

"Auntie, let's go, let's ignore them." Jiang Xing struggled to get down, took Jiang Anxia's hand with one hand and Jiang Wang's hand with the other, and pulled them away from the kitchen.

Jiang Anxia was afraid that she hadn't held Jiang Xing properly and had to put her down, but as soon as she did, she was pulled away.

She glanced back at Jiang's mother and Zhou Laidi, who were still silently smiling in the kitchen.

"What? Did Mom scold you?" Jiang Nanqiu said with a smile as Jiang Anxia came in.

"Dad, eldest brother, look at third brother." Jiang Anxia's talent for tattling is second to none.

If she claims to be second, no one would dare to claim to be first.

"You brat, stop teasing your sister." Father Jiang said sternly, his voice low.

"Alright, alright, I won't say anymore. But Xiaxia, tell me why we went to the hillside behind here today?" Jiang Nanqiu changed the subject, narrowed her eyes, and began to ask Jiang Anxia why she went out in the sweltering heat.

Jiang Anxia looked around.

Goodness, five pairs of eyes are fixed on her.

"It's Jiang Xiaohua. She told me to wait for her there." Jiang Anxia didn't care how many times she said it; as long as it made Jiang Xiaohua hate her, it didn't matter.

This also allowed her family to see Jiang Xiaohua's true colors.

“Her.” Jiang Nanqiu lowered her head, her eyes gleaming, her thoughts unreadable.

"Xiaxia! You can't play with her anymore!" Father Jiang frowned and earnestly warned.

“Yes, Xiaxia, Jiang Xiaohua was never up to any good.” Jiang Zhuohua looked at Jiang Anxia with a serious expression.
