Chapter 5 Time to Eat

"Yes! Auntie, you can't play with her anymore, she's very bad." Jiang Xing was worried about her aunt even at such a young age.

Jiang Wang nodded seriously upon hearing Jiang Xing's words.

Jiang Anxia felt a chill run down her spine. Well, everyone knew Jiang Xiaohua had ill intentions, except the original owner was too naive to see it.

"Okay, I understand."

She wouldn't reject their concern; on the contrary, she would also care about them.

We're all family, so it's only right that we care about each other.

"What are you all chatting about? Go get the dishes." At this moment, Jiang's mother walked in carrying a bowl of dishes in one hand.

Jiang Anxia saw it and quickly took it.

"Okay!" Jiang Zhuohua replied, getting up and walking towards the kitchen.

A little while later, Zhou Laidi and he brought in the rest.

"Alright, everyone go wash your hands and eat." Jiang's mother set out the bowls and chopsticks and called out to the few people who were still sitting still.

The group exchanged glances and quickly went to wash their hands. They had to, otherwise Mother Jiang wouldn't let them touch the chopsticks.

Jiang Mu was very particular about this rule.

Because Jiang's mother was once a pampered young lady from a wealthy family, she was quite particular about this aspect.

Don't let her busy work schedule fool you; her inherent upbringing is unchangeable.

Later, Jiang's parents donated all their family property, leaving them with only enough for household expenses, which allowed them to escape a disaster.

The group, their hands still dripping with water, returned to the main room one after another.

"Sit down and eat, Xiaxia, come to Mom." Jiang's mother called to Jiang Anxia.

"You're here!" Jiang Anxia sat down next to her mother with the two little ones.

"Grandma, why do you only call me 'Little Aunt'? Why don't you call me 'Star'?" Jiang Xing pouted, looking unhappy.

"You little tagalong, even if I didn't call you, you would still follow your aunt here." Mother Jiang pinched the little girl's cheek and said with a smile.

“Mom, don’t you think Xingxing looks a bit like Xiaxia?” Zhou Laidi said with a smile as she looked at her daughter.

"You know what, her personality is exactly the same as Xiaxia's when she was little." Jiang's mother nodded in agreement.

No wonder she grew up following Xiaxia around since she was little.

"Isn't it good to look like my aunt?" the little girl pouted, looking somewhat puzzled.

"Okay, that's good, eat quickly." Jiang Anxia turned the little girl's head back and put a piece of meat into her bowl.

The others simply watched the women's conversation with smiles, without getting involved.

The family chatted and laughed, their faces beaming with joy.

The meal brought Jiang Anxia a greater sense of peace.

This family are all kind-hearted and reasonable people, and it's very comfortable to be around them.

Jiang Anxia eagerly volunteered to wash the dishes and boil water.

"I'll help you." Jiang Wang slid off the stool and followed behind Jiang Anxia.

"Then I want to go too." Seeing that her brother had gone, Jiang Xing insisted on going as well.

Jiang Anxia sighed again, saying that these two children were really well-taught.

They're so young and they already know they should help their families.

She couldn't help but feel saddened by this era, where children basically help their parents with chores and do what they can from a young age.

They don't cause trouble for their families; on the contrary, they can help take care of their younger siblings who are even younger than them.

Just like the original owner and Jiang Wang, the two siblings.

“Okay, let’s have Wangwang and Xingxing help Auntie.” Jiang Anxia put the bowl on the stove and then took the bowl from Jiang Wang’s hand and put it away.

He squatted down and patted the two little ones on the head.

"That's wonderful, thank you so much, Auntie."

"It's only right!" Xingxing said softly.

"Auntie, I can do other things too." Jiang Wang tugged at Jiang Anxia's sleeve, wanting to help again.

"I'm all set here, go play!" Jiang Anxia said with a smile to the two well-behaved little ones.

"Then I'll go feed the chickens." Jiang Wang saw that her aunt really wasn't assigning any work, so she took on the task of feeding the chickens herself.

"Okay, go ahead! Take your little sister with you." Jiang Anxia felt it was best not to disturb the children's interest.

"Then you must be careful, Auntie, don't hurt yourself." Jiang Xing stared intently at Jiang Anxia with her big, dark eyes and gave her this advice.

"Okay, go ahead!" Jiang Anxia chuckled; she was so adorable.

The two little ones nodded in unison, then held hands and left the kitchen.

Jiang Anxia stood up and watched their backs disappear. Then she started washing the dishes and chopsticks. Finally, she washed the pot clean and added water to it and heated it up.

While boiling water, she also tidied up the things in the kitchen.

The stove was also cleaned up, and it looked very pleasing.

As the water boiled and bubbled, she stood at the kitchen doorway and called out.

"Mom and Dad, the water is boiled, you can wash up now."

"Okay, I'm here." It was Jiang Nanqiu who replied.

"Dad, Mom, let Xiaxia take a shower first! She's not feeling well today, so she should rest early." Zhou Laidi has been worried for so long, Xiaxia must be tired too.

(Jiang Anxia herself: Sister-in-law, have you forgotten? I just woke up not long ago.)

"Of course; Nanqiu, go help Xiaxia fetch water." Father Jiang kicked Jiang Nanqiu, telling him to hurry up.

Jiang Nanqiu frowned, turned around and left the main room.

Forget it, it would be beneath him to argue with that childish dad.

"Third Brother? Where's Mom?" Jiang Anxia asked curiously as Jiang Nanqiu entered, holding a water ladle.

"Your parents want you to wash first, and then get some rest." Jiang Nanqiu took Jiang Anxia's water ladle, took out the wooden bucket that Jiang Anxia used from the side, scooped hot water into it, added cold water, and then tested the water in the bucket with her hand. When she felt that it was still a little hot, she added some cold water.
