Jiang Xue instantly understood why the uncle had helped her so much, running around doing everything for her.
"You don't need to feel guilty or sad. Your success in your careers and your happy family life are the greatest happiness for your mother," Jiang Xue sincerely advised the two.
"If your mother knew how guilty and sad you were, she would be heartbroken."
“I’ve never gotten married in my life, I’ve been busy building my career. My brother is married, but he still doesn’t have any children. We really can’t understand what you’re talking about.” The woman wiped away her tears.
Seeing that the atmosphere had finally eased a bit, Jiang Xue finally breathed a sigh of relief.
"I'm going back to see the kids now. If you need any help, just let me know." Jiang Xue was still worried about whether Shao Meng had a recurring high fever.
Suddenly, the woman stopped her, opened a wallet, and handed Jiang Xue a business card. "It's not easy for a woman to raise two children alone. If you need to find a job or need any help in the future, just let me know. I can also sponsor the two children's schooling."
Jiang Xue took the business card, which read "Hong'an Lighting Co., Ltd." and listed the General Manager as Li Wen.
"Wow, you guys are really amazing. You founded Hong'an Lighting?"
"Yes, that's right. I've been so busy making money that my elderly mother hasn't enjoyed any of the good things in life."
Seeing that Li Wen was still immersed in her grief and probably wouldn't be able to get over it anytime soon, Jiang Xue decided it was best not to disturb her.
"Don't blame yourself too much. The fact that you are doing so well is exactly what your mother would have wanted to see."
Jiang Xue carefully put the business card into her pocket. Hong'an Lighting, this factory has quite a background.
There are only three factories in the whole country. The others are all located in places that were developed earlier, in the south.
I guess the reason they built a factory here is probably because this is their hometown.
"I'm worried about my child having a recurring high fever, so I have to go back. You two should eat something so you don't go hungry," Jiang Xue said considerately to the two of them.
After Jiang Xue left, Li Zhen looked at his dying mother on the bed and said, "Xiao Wen, I think that girl is right."
"Yes, Mother always did everything for us. She was so considerate of us that she suffered a lifetime of hardship." Li Wen said, tears streaming down her face.
Even Li Zhen, a grown man, couldn't help but shed tears.
“I was at the doctor’s today. This girl was carrying her child with a high fever and searching all over the hospital for her other lost child. It broke my heart to see her like that.”
“Didn’t our mother raise us like this before? She carried me to the hospital in the middle of the night when I had a fever. You were bored in the hospital, and then you ran off to play. My mother was really worried and cried. She had originally carried me from home to the hospital on foot. She was looking for you in the rainy night. She was so poor that she could hardly walk and almost knelt on the ground.”
Li Wen and Li Zhen reminisced about the past, their eyes dim as they gazed out the window.
The leaves outside the window were scattered and broken by the autumn rain.
Back in her room, Jiang Xue never expected to meet the chairman of the renowned Hong'an Group.
Although we come to know each other in this way, birth, aging, sickness, and death are always a cycle, and there's nothing we can do about it.
The brother and sister had experienced a lot of hardship since childhood. Seeing a woman like her, especially in a hospital, they must have thought of their mother living next door.
Jiang Xue silently put down the business card. "Forget it. Wealth is earned through hard work. You can't just climb up every branch you see."
