Chapter 35 It's Time for a Divorce

"It's okay. Even if I divorce your uncle, you'll still be with me from now on," Jiang Xue said gently, hugging Shao Heng.

Shao Heng's eyes immediately lit up. "Really?"

"Of course it's true. Your uncle will pay me a salary. I'll take you to school and raise you two to be the best college students." Jiang Xue was full of confidence.

Pushing his bicycle, Ji Chen hesitated and said, "If it really doesn't work out, we can stay together without getting a divorce. The two children are quite pitiful too."

Jiang Xue frowned. "So many women are tied down by their children, just living together out of convenience. Is that meaningful? Marriage is about finding someone with a soulmate to spend the rest of your life with."

Ji Chen was speechless for a moment after being confronted by Jiang Xue.

The two did not exchange many words on their way back.

As for Jiang Xue, she's running her shop now and has plenty of time to help Ji Chen take care of the children. Besides, Ji is quite generous; it would be foolish not to make money when she can. Money is exactly what she needs right now.

Then there's Shaoheng and Shaomeng, two little babies, whom she genuinely loves.

The sky was beginning to lighten with the first light of dawn.

Jiang Xue got up early, took her marriage certificate, and went out of the house, only to find Ji Chen preparing breakfast.

She sighed. If this man in front of her had been completely devoted to her, or if the two of them hadn't been so awkward and their relationship hadn't been so strained, she might actually have been willing to stay with such a good man.

But when I thought about my cousin who couldn't wait to come in, and my mother-in-law who was making things difficult for me, I decided to give up. Even if he was incredibly handsome, he was just someone to look at; why make things harder for myself?

"Why don't we go to the city later and get things done?" Jiang Xue thought of the two children and had no choice but to get up early to discuss it with Ji Chen.

Ji Chen responded with a cold "hmm" and continued working.

"I've also found you a house in the city." After saying this, Ji Chen frowned, as if he was having some regrets.

Ji Chen often couldn't understand why this was happening. He always felt that after Jiang Xue changed, his attention to her exceeded that of a normal male-female relationship.

However, when he thought about how their relationship had been so strained before, and how they had been married for two years without ever holding hands, he realized that...

Now that Jiang Xue has come to terms with it, he shouldn't go back on his word, since he was the one who didn't cherish her in the past.

“I need to wait a while before renting a house again. I need to use the money I’ve earned during this period as capital,” Jiang Xue said, getting straight to the point.

A glimmer of light flashed in Ji Chen's gloomy eyes. "Fine, let's do it the same as usual. I don't mind."

Jiang Xue didn't notice the change in Ji Chen's eyes towards her. She only thought that Ji Chen probably wanted the two of them to take care of the child together so that they could look after each other.

"Once my business gets going, I can still help you take care of the kids during the day."

Ji Chen smiled knowingly, "Yes, I'll pick you up myself tonight."

The two chatted back and forth, and as the sun rose, they took their child and returned to the city.

Ji Chen picked up Shao Meng and parked the bicycle somewhere. "Let's go, let's get the formalities done."

Jiang Xue, holding Shao Heng's hand, breathed a sigh of relief when she saw Ji Chen's eagerness. She had truly let go of herself and him. The original owner of this body had simply read too few books and had never seen the world, which led to her staying at his house and being bullied by her mother-in-law and exploited by her own family.

"Boss, what a coincidence, I ran into you here." Sun Ze'an quickly jumped off his bicycle and greeted Jiang Xue.

Jiang Xue noticed a plastic bag hanging in front of his car with several books on it, indicating that he must have just bought books at the bookstore and was passing by.

"It's quite a coincidence. It feels like I always run into you whenever I'm in the city." Jiang Xue's eyes crinkled into crescent moons with laughter.

Ji Chen stood aside, watching Sun Ze'an with a dark expression the whole time.
