Chapter 35: Being thrown down by Gu Yunting!

Chapter 35: Being thrown down by Gu Yunting!

Su Mengxue was about to push his hand away when her movements suddenly froze in mid-air. Her eyes flickered as she suddenly realized that Gu Yunting had been talking about her and other men all day. Was there something wrong with him? Why was there a sour smell of jealousy in the air?

She then thought about Gu Yunting's dislike for her and realized that she must be wrong.

She paused, her tone tinged with sarcasm, "Gu Yunting, aren't you afraid of what others will say? I dare not trouble you, lest you accuse me of being restless later."

Gu Yunting frowned and sneered: "Su Mengxue, you should remember what I said!"

Su Mengxue curled her lips and said, "Gu Yunting, you can't have double standards. Put me down quickly. I can walk by myself."

Gu Yunting replied nonchalantly, "Everyone in the compound is saying we're getting married. It's only natural for me to hold you. If I let you walk back barefoot, people will gossip about you."

After he said that, he strode into the yard with her in his arms.

Although Su Mengxue didn't want to walk barefoot, she felt uncomfortable being held in Gu Yunting's arms, especially since their current posture was a little too intimate.

She was a normal woman, and she could clearly feel his body temperature through the fabric of his shirt. His arms were toned with muscle, his waist and abdomen were strong and steady, his Adam's apple brushed against her hair as it rolled, and his breath, so close to her, was filled with a refreshing air...

Her fingertips curled slightly, and the scene of that night suddenly flooded into her mind. She turned her face away uncomfortably, her fingers tightly grasping the bundle, and stopped looking at him.

Gu Yunting wasn't much better off than her. He could clearly feel the soft, firm curves of the person in his arms, the delicate warmth of her body through the thin fabric, and the faint soapy scent of her hair brushing against his jaw...

He suddenly thought of that night, her slender waist and charming and affectionate eyes. His throat rolled heavily and his breath became more and more unstable. He suppressed those images with his mind and did not allow himself to have any random thoughts.

Perhaps they were both a little absent-minded and no one was looking at the road carefully. As soon as Gu Yunting stepped into the backyard with Su Mengxue in his arms, he was caught off guard and bumped into the locust tree.

"Ah!" With a scream, Su Mengxue suddenly lost her balance after swaying a few times in Gu Yunting's arms. She fell straight backwards. Gu Yunting was panicked and couldn't react in time, and the two of them fell heavily to the ground.

The moment he fell to the ground, Gu Yunting did not forget to pull her into his arms. When the two rolled into a ball, their lips touched each other without any warning.

Did they kiss?

Gu Yunting looked at Su Mengxue who was so close to him, and his Adam's apple rolled heavily again. At this moment, his palm was still on her waist. Her warm breath sprayed on his neck, like a thin needle gently prickling his nerves. He froze in place and forgot to breathe for a while.

Su Mengxue didn't think too much. She was pressed under Gu Yunting's tall and strong body. Her back was hitting the gravel, and the pain made her gasp.

She turned her head and saw Gu Yunting lying motionless on top of her. She was already tired and unlucky enough today, and now he had thrown her down again. She was immediately furious.

"Gu Yunting, did you do this on purpose?" Su Mengxue stared at him straightly, her eyes becoming increasingly angry.

Gu Yunting snapped back to his senses. He hurriedly pulled Su Mengxue up from the ground and stammered, "I'm sorry, I... I was distracted just now. Are you okay?"

He looked her up and down anxiously, and just as he was about to ask her if she was injured anywhere, Su Mengxue pushed him away forcefully.

"Gu Yunting, I must have been kicked in the head by a donkey to let you send me back." Su Mengxue rubbed her already sore waist and muttered to him in annoyance.

Seeing her frowning and rubbing her waist, Gu Yunting asked worriedly, "Did you hurt your waist? I'll take you to the hospital."

As he was about to approach Su Mengxue, Su Mengxue stumbled back half a step and sarcastically said to him, "Gu Yunting, stay away from me. If you lose consciousness and throw me again, I won't be able to bear it."

She rubbed her waist and couldn't help but complain, "Lu Yuanzhou carried me on his back to avoid the police, and ran such a long way in the dark without letting me fall. But you fell on flat ground. I think you did it on purpose."

Gu Yunting's eyes darkened for a moment. He stared at Su Mengxue and was about to say something when his peripheral vision caught sight of her bare feet. After a long pause, he managed to muffle a voice through his teeth: "Don't worry, I'll watch the road carefully."

Seeing that Gu Yunting was still planning to carry her on his back, Su Mengxue was about to refuse when he forcibly carried her sideways again.

"If you had held my neck just now, you wouldn't have fallen."

Su Mengxue was stunned for a moment, pursed her lips and said, "Gu Yunting, you and I are not that familiar."

Gu Yunting's face instantly turned darker than the bottom of a pot, but unfortunately the night was too dark and Su Mengxue couldn't see.

This time his arms were tense, he looked straight ahead with no distractions, and each step he took was steady.

When they got to the yard, Su Mengxue didn't want to stay on him for a second. She struggled to get off him, straightened her wrinkles, and said perfunctorily to Gu Yunting: "Anyway, thank you for sending me back. I'm going into the house."

As she spoke, she limped towards the inner room carrying her bag.

Gu Yunting immediately noticed that something was wrong with her. She had sprained her ankle. He took two steps forward and without saying a word, hugged her in his arms again. Then he went into the house and put her on the kang.

When he saw Su Mengxue's bruised and swollen ankle, he frowned silently, then turned around and took out a tube of ointment from the drawer.

He opened the ointment and half squatted down. As soon as his fingertips touched Su Mengxue's skin, Su Mengxue's feet retracted.

"Gu Yunting, what did you apply to me?"

Gu Yunting raised his head and saw Su Mengxue looking at him with suspicion.

Did she just not believe him? His thin lips suddenly tightened into a straight line. After a sigh, he said with a sullen face, "This is the most effective medicine for treating injuries. Apply it now and sleep for a night, and the swelling will go away."

Seeing that Su Mengxue didn't say anything, he lowered his head and pressed his palm on her ankle. He dipped his other hand in the ointment and gently rubbed it. A cool minty scent instantly filled the air.

Su Mengxue felt a cool sensation on her ankle, but also a burning pain. She frowned and said, "Gu Yunting, this medicine of yours is not..."

Just as she was about to move her feet, Gu Yunting spoke again: "Be patient, everything will be fine tomorrow."

"Then I'll reluctantly trust you again. If I don't feel better tomorrow, I..."

Su Mengxue wanted to say something harsh, but before she could finish her words, Gu Yunting raised his head again. When their eyes met, she saw Gu Yunting staring at her intently.

She turned her head away unnaturally, pursed her lips and added: "I will never believe anything you say again."

Gu Yunting responded expressionlessly, lowered his head and continued to help her apply the medicine. He applied it very carefully and his hands were very gentle.

After he finished applying the ointment to Su Mengxue, he took out a spray from another drawer and told her, "Wait until the ointment dries, then spray this on her. It will invigorate blood circulation and remove blood stasis."

Su Mengxue saw that he was very familiar with the furnishings in the house. Thinking about why she and Gu Yunting were there that night, she suddenly realized something. Her eyelashes trembled and she asked, "Gu Yunting, is this your house?"

Gu Yunting hummed softly.

"Then the white shirt I was wearing earlier..." Su Mengxue's voice softened, as if something was blocking her throat. Then she asked in a daze, "Is it yours too?"
