Chapter 1: New Arrival

Chapter 1: New Arrival

In the dim light, you can vaguely see the sliding window covered by wire mesh.

Ye Shuyi heard a clang and knew her father was pushing a bicycle to buy goods. There was a yellow basket on the back of the bicycle, which was specially used to store fresh meat and vegetables, and the wire mesh basket in the front could also be used to store goods.

She has been here for a month, but she still can't get used to the fact that she traveled through time. She always feels that she will return to her original world when she wakes up.

She is a Cantonese person in the 21st century. She watched a Hong Kong drama and woke up in Hong Kong in 1990 with a brand new identity.

When she got down from the upper bunk, she saw A-mei sleeping soundly.

She quickly washed up, ate the steamed dumplings and meat buns on the table, and went out.

The golden signboard clearly read "Ye Ji Food", and Ye Junhui's shop was open for business.

The bean curd rolls, with their thin, almost transparent wrapper, are filled with tender, rosy shrimp. The crust trembles slightly when you bite into them. The golden-brown Hong Kong-style egg tarts have a fluid, almost creamy center, like a smoky jelly. The roast goose is truly exceptional, charred on the outside and tender on the inside. The reflective, dark red crust is incredibly crispy, and the juicy flavor lingers on your taste buds, leaving a lingering fragrance.

Ye Shuyi couldn't help swallowing just thinking about it. However, she saw another disappointing scene.

"Are you kidding me? Are your crystal shrimp dumplings made with dead shrimps? I taste a fishy smell." A man with a rooster haircut and wearing a big black vest shouted.

Ye Junhui emerged from behind the kitchen curtain, his face full of apology: "Did you try the wrong flavor? I bought it at the market early in the morning and never leave it overnight."

The man stepped forward in his flip-flops and spat out the cigarette from the corner of his mouth. "You're not going to admit it now. Do you believe I can make you unable to open your shop? Compensation! Quickly!"

The other customers who were having morning tea all looked sideways, talked to each other, and waited for the boss to finish.

Ye Junhui thought this guy was here to cause trouble. Either he was jealous of his colleagues, or he wanted to eat and drink for free.

If I admit it, I won’t be able to do business in the future. If I don’t admit it, how will it end?

"Forcing people to eat dead cats is really despicable." Ye Shuyi couldn't bear to see her father in trouble, so she stepped forward and said.

The man in black jumped up and pointed at Ye Shuyi: "You gossip, you can eat whatever you want, but you can't say whatever you want. It's clearly something wrong with this restaurant."

Ye Shuyi took the basket of shrimp dumplings, put it in front of her nose, and gently fanned it with her hand to smell it.

This is a dead shrimp.

But my dad would definitely not do something that would ruin his reputation.

"The dead cannot regenerate. If you have the ability, send it for examination to see whether it is dead or alive." This dirty water was definitely thrown.

Ye Shuyi ignored him and put down the shrimp dumplings: "This is clearly a deliberate frame-up! Our Yeji shrimp dumplings are never wrapped like this. Look at the dumpling wrapper, the wrinkles are not right."

The man in black yelled, "You're just deliberately denying what you did. Everyone saw it, so give us some judgment! There's something wrong with this restaurant. Don't eat here anymore!"

The customer agreed: "Yes, how can we serve customers leftover food? It's so unhealthy..."

Ye Shuyi calmly asked a customer, "Did you order crystal shrimp dumplings?"

Customer: “Yes.”

"Is it fresh?"

"Fresh."

She asked several questions in a row, and all of them were new.

The onlookers said again, "Everyone says it's fresh, but this one isn't fresh. I'm afraid there's something fishy going on."

"People nowadays will do anything to dine and eat for free. They have no morals at all."

Seeing this, the man in black still insisted, "It must be that my plate happened to be left over from the previous night."

Ye Shuyi asked: "Are you sure?"

The man in black thought she was just scared, so he answered yes.

"Look what's that?" Ye Shuyi pointed. There was a camera under the eaves of the colorful sign. It looked like a surveillance camera.

Can see the man's movements clearly.

The man's face turned dark. He felt that he could not frame the person, so he left cursing.

"Sir, you haven't paid yet." The girl grabbed the big man's hand.

The man wanted to struggle, but he couldn't move. The girl looked frail, but she was quite strong.

Helplessly, he handed over the money with a sour face.

Ye Shuyi took it and handed it to Ye Junhui.

The latter nodded, and she let go.

The guests present applauded and praised Ye Shuyi for being a good hand at handling things.

Only her father pulled her aside and asked, "When did we install surveillance cameras in our house? How come I didn't know about it?"

Ye Shuyi said that two days ago, Lao Wang next door broke his camera and wanted to throw it away, so Ye Shuyi came over and fixed it under the sign to scare people.

Dad gave a thumbs up: "It's eye-catching."

"Don't you see whose daughter she is?" Ye Shuyi praised back and helped serve the dishes.

"Pretty girl, would you like to watch a movie with me tonight?"

Ye Shuyi looked over and saw a man with slicked-back hair, wearing a suit and tie.

"I'm busy, the food needs to be served." She didn't know this person.

Her good looks attracted a lot of romantic interests to her.

Nothing strange.

Without even a second glance, she turned and left.

The man propped his chin on his hand, watching Ye Shuyi serve the dishes, and commented: "Interesting, smart, and more beautiful than a big star."

"I don't like you anymore, just focus on eating." The man sitting at the same table with him broke his fantasy.

But after only a few bites, they had to get up.

"Ah! Look! What happened to him?" a woman screamed.

I saw a middle-aged man lying on the ground, foaming at the mouth and twitching.

The man in a suit squatted on the ground and tapped the side of his shoulder quickly a few times, and the man stopped twitching.

The other man immediately took out his mobile phone and called Baiche.

The man who pressed the acupoints was called Li Yunjiang, and the man who called the taxi was called Chen Nanfeng.

The ambulance arrived quickly, and several people in white coats worked together to lift the person into the car.

When this happened while they were having breakfast, Ye Junhui's customers suspected that there was something wrong with the food and demanded compensation.

Ye Shuyi said, "Aren't you all fine now? The person just now must have had some issues. If anything happens to anyone here later, Ye's Cuisine will be responsible."

After hearing this, everyone quieted down. However, no one could eat in peace, and they gradually dispersed.

Ye Junhui was frightened and simply closed the store to rest.

It was not until noon that the two men came to the store again with a group of police officers.

"Pretty girl, that man was admitted to the ICU this morning due to food poisoning. Now we have to check your store to see if there is any problem." Chen Nanfeng changed his nonchalant look and raised his police officer ID.

Ye Shuyi made a "please" gesture: "Of course I will cooperate with the police officer."

Chen Nanfeng directed the police behind him to search the store and said, "Be polite and don't mess up other people's things."

Half an hour later, a young policeman came out with a bag of colorful things.

"Sir, this mushroom... is so gorgeous."

Li Yunjiang took it, opened it, smelled it, and said seriously, "Poisonous mushroom."

Ye Junhui's face turned pale. He said that the store had never had this kind of mushroom and he didn't know how it got in.
