Chapter Thirty-Five: The Child's Name Has Been Thought Of

Xinli knows the way, so why would she need someone to pick her up?

But seeing He Mingzhou's serious expression, she knew that if she didn't give him this opportunity, the man would probably hold a grudge.

"Okay, then I'll wait for you over there."

He Mingzhou then relaxed his furrowed brows: "Okay."

He left with Zhang Jinhua only after he had arranged everything.

Xin Li glanced at the sky, took out a flashlight from her spatial storage, and then slowly strolled towards the beach.

People on the island are now familiar with Xinli.

The incident of catching chickens clearly left a deep impression on everyone, so those people didn't dare to cricket at her in front of them like before, but instead hid behind her and exchanged frantic glances.

Xinli pretended not to see it and strolled forward, soon arriving at the beach.

It wasn't dark yet, and sure enough, there were many people gathering seafood on the beach.

After the tide recedes, a large patch of damp muddy land is left on the beach. It looks a bit muddy, but it's full of good stuff.

Adults and children alike were like little treasure hunters, digging away at the land with great enthusiasm. If someone unearthed something good, they would shout with delight, and the others, while envious, would dig even harder.

Xinli watched with great interest.

But as darkness fell, those people gradually washed their harvest and went home.

Xin Li thought that He Mingzhou would come to pick her up, and if she left, He Mingzhou would have made a wasted trip, so she simply sat on the steps and waited.

He Mingzhou originally thought that repairing a rice jar would take about half an hour.

Unexpectedly, I spotted a mouse at Zhang Jinhua's house. Thinking I shouldn't let it go, I chased after it and ended up finding a mouse nest...

After a short delay, it was already completely dark when He Mingzhou arrived at the beach.

I didn't see many people going back from the beach along the way; instead, everyone in the village had finished packing up and was preparing to rest.

He Mingzhou looked at the once bustling island now completely silent and felt a little worried.

Xin Li was a newcomer after all, and Zhang Chen even took revenge on her because of Xu Haiyu, which shows that not everyone on the island had a friendly attitude towards her.

I wonder if Xinli will be bullied if she goes there alone.

Thinking that all of this was because of him, He Mingzhou felt guilty and thought that he should have let Xin Li go tomorrow.

Thinking of this, He Mingzhou unconsciously quickened his pace. When he reached the shore, he saw a slender figure sitting alone on the steps.

I don't know how long I've been sitting here, but I look somewhat desolate and lonely.

He Mingzhou's heart tightened, and he ran over quickly.

Xin Li turned her head when she heard footsteps and saw He Mingzhou running towards her.

"You've arrived!"

Xin Li patted her clothes and stood up, a bright smile on her face, showing no impatience at having waited so long.

He Mingzhou looked her up and down to make sure she was alright before he breathed a sigh of relief.

"Sorry, something came up and I was held up."

Xin Li nodded understandingly: "It's alright, let's go back."

Seeing that Xin Li didn't seem angry, He Mingzhou reached out and took her hand.

"I'll come with you tomorrow."

Xinli turned to look at him: "Are you free tomorrow?"

"There should be."

Although He Mingzhou's vacation was not long, he would not come to see him during the vacation unless there was something particularly important.

Xinli nodded: "Okay, let's come again tomorrow."

"I just saw some people going beachcombing, it looked so interesting!"

"Really? Has anyone caught something good?"

He Mingzhou had been to the beach before and knew roughly what he could find, but he asked this question because he didn't want Xin Li's words to be ignored.

“There weren’t any big ones, but I saw that everyone’s small buckets were full.”

He Mingzhou smiled faintly: "Those who live by the mountains live off the mountains, and those who live by the sea live off the sea. In fact, the people on the island used to go fishing."

"Fishing?"

Xinli's eyes lit up.

In the post-apocalyptic world where water resources are scarce, she had never participated in any of these interesting activities.

"Is it fun?"

He Mingzhou found it somewhat amusing.

Perhaps this is what happens when you're a young lady from Shanghai; you're curious about everything and, because you've never experienced the pressure of survival, your first instinct when you hear something is whether it's fun or not.

"There are dangers involved."

He Mingzhou explained earnestly: "There are many storms at sea, and storms sometimes come without warning. Many people have had accidents at sea, so gradually people stopped going out to sea."

"Oh, I see."

Xinli said with some regret, "I still want to see what it looks like."

He Mingzhou didn't want to see her so disappointed, so he chuckled and said, "I'll take you to see it if there's a chance."

Really? Really?

He Mingzhou nodded: "Really."

"That's wonderful! You're such a kind person!"

He Mingzhou turned his head and met Xin Li's bright eyes. He paused for a moment, and the image of the plump, crystal-clear lychee popped into his mind again.

To stop himself from overthinking, He Mingzhou cleared his throat and asked, "Why is your name this?"

Xinli exclaimed, "Ah!" No one had asked this question before.

She didn't know how to answer for a moment.

After thinking for a moment, Xin Li came up with a plausible answer: "Maybe it's because the character 'Li' can represent a beautiful woman."

"How so?"

"Isn't the story of Yang Guifei's 'a thousand miles of dust raised by a galloping horse, a smile from the imperial concubine's lips' just a reference to lychees?"

"The meaning is quite good."

Although He Mingzhou was a rough and uncultured man, he had heard these things before and nodded in agreement, saying with a hint of appreciation, "Your mother must love you very much to give you such a name."

Xin Li touched her nose somewhat guiltily.

She has no idea why the original owner of this body had this name; it might just have been chosen randomly by the author.

However, the fact that He Mingzhou was so easily fooled made the sense of disconnect even more pronounced.

"And what's your name?"

Xin Li countered He Mingzhou's question: "Mingzhou, do your family want you to be like the sun, illuminating not only yourself but also others?"

When He Mingzhou heard Xin Li call out the word "Mingzhou" in her uniquely soft and sweet voice, his heart skipped a beat.

Over the years, people have called him by various names, and he's long been used to it without any particular feeling.

But when Xin Li shouted that, he detected a hint of romance in her voice.

The thought of his name rolling between Xin Li's lips and teeth before being called out made He Mingzhou feel a chill run down his spine.

That's roughly the idea.

The night was too dark, and although she had a small flashlight, Xin Li didn't shine it on his face, so she didn't see the slightly unnatural expression on He Mingzhou's face.

Hearing that she had guessed correctly, Xinli smiled with satisfaction: "I knew it. It seems I'm still quite smart. I'll name our child from now on."

He Mingzhou choked.

"child?"

Xin Li nodded matter-of-factly: "Of course, don't you want children?"
