The director of the Suhang Flour Mill, receiving a mandate from the factory director, immediately recruited a large group of skilled chefs, specializing in frying, stir-frying, and deep-frying, determined to perfect this instant noodle recipe.

After developing their product, they began distributing it to supply and marketing cooperatives and stalls in Suzhou and Hangzhou. They offered free stock to customers who came in first, and settled the bill after sales. Procurement back then was unlike anything seen in later generations; this sales model was unprecedented. By 1984, their annual instant noodle sales had reached an astonishing 90 tons.

At this time, Shanghai's Guanshengyuan's delicious pork noodles became a renowned instant noodle brand. Their packaging, made of paper on the outside and a thin layer of plastic inside to protect against moisture, was unlike the typical plastic bags used for instant noodles and has become a memory for a generation.

Jiang Huashu was moved when he saw that there was a huge gap in real instant noodles in our country in 1981.
