Chapter 28: Filthy Things

Old Mrs. Feng trembled slightly.

His legs went limp and he fell to the ground. He grabbed his grandson's trousers and slapped him on the butt. "I told you to be naughty and take other people's things!"

"Don't you remember how your brother's hand was broken?"

The little grandson of the Feng family was stunned at first. After being slapped several times in succession, he reacted and burst into tears.

The remaining children of the Feng family all looked at Old Lady Feng in disbelief.

Could it be that grandma is possessed by a ghost today?

Otherwise, how could he bear to beat his most beloved grandson?

Or just for something as trivial as stealing someone else's stuff...

The riverside was already in chaos, and the scolding of Old Mrs. Feng, coupled with the crying of Feng's little grandson, made people feel restless and irritable.

Even the soldiers' horses that were parked by the river kicked their hooves impatiently.

Upon seeing this, Old Lady Bai ordered her family to move further away and sit in the place farthest away from the Feng and Liang families.

On the side of the Wei family, whose pot of goat milk porridge had just been stolen, Ningshuang, who was originally guarding the pot, chased after them.

Just as she was about to bend down to pick up the pot that had fallen on the ground, the maid beside Mrs. Liang ran over and stopped her.

"Miss Ningshuang, wait a minute, can we take this pot back first?"

Madam Liang's maid was quite polite. She took out a silver ingot from her sleeve and handed it over. "This is the compensation from Madam to your family. If you don't have enough pots and bowls at home, you can come with me to pick one up."

Ning Shuang turned around to see Wei Yunlan's expression. Seeing her young lady nodded, she took the silver ingot from the Liang family maid and said, "We have enough pots and bowls for now. You can return the pot to us after you use it."

"Thank you Miss Ningshuang and Miss Wei for your understanding."

Madam Liang's maid bowed towards the Wei family, then picked up the pot that originally contained goat milk porridge from the ground.

Although most of the porridge in the pot was spilled by Old Lady Feng, there was still a shallow layer of porridge at the bottom of the pot. If it was poured into a bowl, it would be enough for about two small bowls.

Old Mrs. Feng was scolding her grandson. She was still mumbling to herself as she got up from the ground. Her body was staggering and she was about to bump into the maid who was walking back with the pot.

At this moment, Mrs. Liang, who had just coaxed her little son to lie down, came over here with her maid and several strong servants.

The servants stepped forward quickly and blocked Old Lady Feng's way. Before Old Lady Feng could reach the pot, her forehead hit the servant's hard chest, and she fell to the ground with her little grandson.

Madam Liang, surrounded by her servants, walked up to Old Madam Feng, looked down at her, and said in a cold voice, "Don't think you can get away with it by pretending to be crazy or stupid. If Jun'er is really in trouble, I want your whole family to be buried with my Jun'er!"

Mrs. Liang has always been aloof and would not easily talk to anyone in the team except her own family.

This was the first time she spoke to Old Lady Feng. Seeing her frosty face and vicious eyes, Old Lady Feng shuddered uncontrollably, and the words she wanted to explain got stuck in her throat.

At this time, Lord Feng hurried over, first glared at Old Lady Feng and the nephews at home, then turned around and bowed to Madam Liang and said, "My mother is old and confused, and often indulges the younger generation in misbehaving, but she definitely doesn't have bad intentions. Madam Liang, do you think there is any misunderstanding here..."

"Whether there is a misunderstanding or not, you will know it later."

Mrs. Liang ignored Lord Feng's attempts to smooth things over. She was concerned about her youngest son's safety. She had no time to listen to the Feng family's excuses, so she turned around and left with her servants.

Old Mrs. Feng wanted to say something, but Lord Feng grabbed her arm tightly and signaled her to shut up with his eyes.

After the Liang family left, Lord Feng hurriedly pulled Old Lady Feng aside, and one could vaguely see some anger on his face.

Wei Yunlan quietly observed the family's reaction and understood something. This vicious and stupid thing was probably done by Old Lady Feng, Madam Feng San and other female members of the Feng family without telling Lord Feng.

The messenger who went to fetch the doctor returned on horseback less than an hour after he left.

The doctor sitting on the horse was shaken dizzy and before he could stand firmly, he was pulled to the side of the lying young master of the Liang family.

Seeing the red face and breathlessness of the young master of the Liang family, the doctor's face tensed instantly. He felt his pulse, opened his collar and looked at the rash on his body, and said seriously: "It must be due to improper diet and accidental ingestion of poison. Fortunately, the amount consumed was not large, otherwise he might not have survived until now!"

Hearing the doctor's words that her youngest son's life might be in danger, Mrs. Liang trembled and asked anxiously, "What should we do now?"

The doctor saw that although this group of people were being escorted by the police, they were still very imposing, so he did not dare to slack off. "I will first give the young master acupuncture to see if I can induce vomiting of the contents in his stomach. If he can vomit it out, this crisis will be mostly gone!"

"Please do it quickly." Mrs. Liang hurriedly asked the servants to put up barriers around the area to block the view of outsiders so that the doctor could concentrate on giving the acupuncture.

This doctor is just a resident physician in a clinic in a nearby town, but he has some special skills.

After a while, the only sound was retching from behind the curtain.

The young master of the Liang family vomited out everything he had eaten in the past half day. His originally rapid breathing finally began to ease a little, but the burning sensation and rash on his body did not subside at all.

The doctor frowned and said, "We still need to know what poison the young master accidentally ingested before we can prescribe the right medicine."

"Report to the doctor everything Jun'er has eaten today. If there is any extra, bring it to the doctor to have a look." Mrs. Liang ordered.

The two maids who were specially assigned to serve the young master of the Liang family hurriedly brought food.

Even though he was on the road of exile, the young master of the Liang family ate quite a lot in the past half day.

First there was a bowl of milk with sugar, accompanied by pancakes made with eggs and white flour, then a few pieces of mung bean cakes, and sweet and delicious lotus leaf tea. Just over an hour ago, there were also two bowls of goat's milk cheese and a roasted chicken leg.

Except for the goat's milk cheese, the maids brought the rest of the food to the doctor for inspection, but no problems were found.

Thinking about the Feng family's actions just now, Mrs. Liang pointed at the bucket of remaining goat milk and asked, "Take a closer look. Is this the problem with the goat milk?"

The doctor was about to shake his head when he smelled a faint stench nearby. It was not the smell of vomit, but another kind of filthy thing.

Even if the incense was lit in the middle of the curtain, the smell could not be suppressed.

The doctor, who was at a loss just now, suddenly had an idea in his mind, and hurriedly asked the maids who had just brought food, "Is there anything unusual about this milk-producing ewe today?"
