I quickly asked, "Where do you want to go?"
Ekeda opened a passage in the basement and placed his long-prepared luggage on the ground. He said to me gently, "We can't contact Jiulong due to signal interference. Please send this letter to Jiulong. Lord Qu in Kowloon will definitely send reinforcements. We have already contacted them and they said they would help us if we were desperate."
I was very confused. "Isn't this too sudden? And why send me? Aren't those soldiers faster than me?"
Ekeda said seriously, "Those soldiers need to prepare for tomorrow's battle. One more soldier might delay the battle a little longer. Also, the passageway behind might be getting narrower and narrower, making it more suitable for women to carry out the mission. You have to understand these principles."
I was still confused: “But…”
Ekeda suddenly kissed me on the lips, interrupting me. My face flushed and I felt very nervous, but I didn't resist. Ekeda held my face and said, "Tifa, if you believe me, just leave!"
I looked at him with tears in my eyes, blushing. "Why do I need you to protect me all the time? Why do you keep trying so hard to protect me? Why do you like to lie so much? The head pastor is the same, as are Ruante and you. You've been lying to me all the time."
Ekeda shook his head seriously. "Don't worry! Tifa, I didn't lie this time. We will definitely be together, just the two of us."
I looked at his serious expression and it seemed that he was not lying, so I walked into the passage alone with a backpack on my back, and kept looking back at Ekeda, but he just smiled at me and then slowly closed the door.
Then, not far away, I heard the crisp sound of a door being locked. I kept comforting myself that I was not deceived. He just asked me to call for reinforcements and come with the reinforcements. I held on to this belief and moved forward step by step.
After walking for about a day, I saw a small car in front of me. It seemed that I saw greater hope, so I stepped on it and slid forward along the track until I rushed out of the cave.
I looked at the blue sky, turned back to look at the city of Maria which was on fire, and ran forward quickly.
I was standing under the tall city wall of Kowloon. I dragged my tired body and ran forward happily, then accidentally fell to the ground. My clothes were torn, but I stood up quickly, slapped the tall city wall, and shouted wildly.
The Pulao people on the city wall saw me through the surveillance monitor and quickly came down from the city wall using ropes. Two Pulao people looked at my tattered clothes and asked me with concern, "Where did you come from?"
I said excitedly, "I'm from Maria City over there. I'm here to deliver a letter asking your Lord Qu to send reinforcements to help us."
The two Pulao soldiers looked at each other in confusion when they heard what I said and then said, "Sorry, Miss, our army has not received such an order."
I was suddenly struck by what they said. But I immediately regained my confidence, took out the letter from my pocket, and said in a panic, "Just give this letter to Lord Qu. Once he sees it, he will definitely send troops to support us."
Pulaozhong took the envelope and tore it open immediately, but found that it was empty and there was no so-called letter at all. Pulaozhong looked at me with confusion.
I was stunned by the scene in front of me. What was going on? Was I being deceived again? Why did they do this? Was it to save me again? Why did they choose someone like me?
I collapsed on the ground, my face ashen as death as I stared at the yellowed earth. Seeing me like this, the two Pulaozhong couldn't help but say, "We are Shang and Ling of the Pulaozhong. We still have some power. We can bring you into Jiulong to live, but you can't betray us. We can guarantee you food and clothing in there."
I slowly stood up and said, "Thank you for your kindness. It's okay. I'll go first." Then I dropped my bag and turned to walk towards the small hole at the back, with two tear marks on both sides of my cheeks.
He said to me guiltily: "I'm sorry I couldn't help you."
Ling thought for a moment and said, "So is Jiulong the next one? I really don't know what Master Qu is thinking."
I got back on the car and hurried back. The next night, I returned to the wooden door. I leaned against the wall to listen for any movement from above the church, but the entire church was surprisingly quiet.
I immediately took out a knife and frantically scraped the wooden door. By the next morning, my hands were covered in blood. I pushed the wooden door open with difficulty. The air was filled with a strong smell of blood, and I felt a strong sense of unease in my heart.
I dragged my tired body out of the basement and immediately walked into the corridor. The entire corridor was full of corpses that had been chopped beyond recognition. I looked at the scene in horror and was so scared that I couldn't make a sound. Suddenly, I heard Ekeda's voice from the lobby.
I followed the sound and slowly came to the lobby. In the middle of the lobby, there was a huge mechanical body wearing a hat. It was pressing Ekeda under its body and using several mechanical arms as if it was doing something?
I shouted, "What are you doing?"
Both the robot and Ekeda were drawn to my voice. The robot looked up and said, "Roland, didn't you say they were all wiped out? How come there are still rats?"
I had no idea who he was talking to, but the moment I looked up, someone jumped down from the ceiling and pushed me to the ground. "Who knows? Mr. Gabriel, it seems like he escaped and came back?"
Ekeda saw me and shouted in panic: "Don't touch her, I can handle it alone."
