chance encounter

After the meeting, Hu Ming was driving home and dropped off Lin Ting and her luggage at the hotel he had booked for her.

"We don't have any plans for tomorrow morning. We need to record some audio for promotion in the afternoon, then have a brief meeting, and I'll take you out to eat tonight!" Hu Ming briefly explained the plans for tomorrow.

"Okay, I'll follow your arrangements. See you tomorrow." Lin Ting nodded, said goodbye to Hu Ming, got off the car with her suitcase, and went to check in.

After washing up, Lin Ting lay in bed and opened her chat history with Zhao Qinfeng.

[Lin Ting: I also went on a business trip today.]

Zhao Qinfeng was probably looking at his phone at the time, and he quickly replied to the message.

[Zhao Qinfeng: Haha, I'm still on a business trip. I flew to Xin'an today!]

[Lin Ting: I think... I'm also in Xin'an.]

After exchanging words, the two discovered that they were staying at the same hotel.

[Zhao Qinfeng: I came to find you, but you came to find me?]

Lin Ting: ...Give me the room number.

Lin Ting changed out of her pajamas, put on the clean clothes she had prepared for the next day, and slowly walked to Zhao Qinfeng's hotel room.

Before knocking, he lowered his head to confirm the room number and sent a message before knocking.

The door opened immediately, and Lin Ting was pulled inside by the wrist.

The corridor was dimly lit and softly lit, while the room was much brighter. Lin Ting squinted because her eyes were suddenly exposed to the bright light.

Then Zhao Qinfeng kissed her in a hurry.

Lin Ting leaned against the door, her head supported by Zhao Qinfeng's hand. She didn't bump her head, but was instead held tightly, and the sound of their lips and tongues moving could be clearly heard.

Lin Ting finally adjusted to the brightness of the room during the kiss and looked at Zhao Qinfeng with a slight smile.

They didn't kiss endlessly. After kissing Lin Ting, Zhao Qinfeng didn't back away, but instead pressed his forehead against Lin Ting's.

Lin Ting reached out and twirled the ends of Zhao Qinfeng's dripping hair, realizing that he must have just finished showering and was about to rest.

"Why are you taking a double jump on a business trip? You only have a few days in between, why are you putting yourself through this?" Lin Ting sat down on the edge of the bed and watched Zhao Qinfeng take a towel to dry his hair.

Zhao Qinfeng sighed, "It's like this, the recording schedule for one of the songs was suddenly moved up, which affected both my schedule and the producer's. In the end, we decided that I would record it in the recording studio here. I've been listening to the demo on the plane all day today, and I'll practice for another half day tomorrow. I have to go record it this afternoon. Although it's still possible, it's really too rushed."

Lin Ting said, "I plan to take a walk around the area tomorrow morning, so I won't disturb your singing practice. But how about we have lunch together?"

Zhao Qinfeng nodded, and the towel swayed back and forth.

Lin Ting urged Zhao Qinfeng to dry his hair, and after spending a few more tender moments with him, they prepared to go back to rest.

"By the way, what business are you here on?" Zhao Qinfeng asked.

"I have a business to discuss, and since I had some time, I thought I'd come over and talk it over face-to-face." Lin Ting's hand was on the handle, but he didn't press it. He turned around to answer Zhao Qinfeng's question.

Zhao Qinfeng: "You've worked hard, get some rest."

Lin Ting returned to her room, changed into her pajamas, and lay down on the bed.

He hadn't yet figured out how to tell Zhao Qinfeng about his identity as a lyricist.

It wasn't that he felt ashamed of the identity of "Jinghu," but rather that he felt awkward about it. However, Zhao Qinfeng was no stranger to him, so there was nothing wrong with being honest about it.

However, he started to procrastinate, including tonight. Zhao Qinfeng probably assumed that he was on a business trip for music review-related business and had no idea where he was going. He took advantage of Zhao Qinfeng's misunderstanding and told a lie that was half true and half false.

A vague sense of guilt made Lin Ting feel a little uneasy.

However, he couldn't come up with a solution even after thinking about it before going to bed. Ultimately, the fact that this matter was important but not urgent made it easy to procrastinate.

Lin Ting fell asleep quickly and decisively.

The next morning, he got up and checked the weather. It was cloudy, the sun wasn't too bright, the temperature was in the early twenties, and the ground was dry with no standing water—perfect for going out.

Lin Ting strolled around the city happily. There were many attractions clustered together, and he quickly looked around before returning to the hotel to meet Zhao Qinfeng. They had a meal together nearby.

Zhao Qinfeng's assistant was also there. She and Lin Ting were already quite familiar with each other, so they greeted each other and chatted while eating.

"The recording this afternoon should be fine, right?" Lin Ting asked casually, remembering that Zhao Qinfeng still needed to learn the song quickly yesterday.

"No problem. We can discuss and refine some details with the producer, but most of the details have been figured out." Zhao Qinfeng looked a little tired, but his words were reassuring.

Lin Ting felt that Zhao Qinfeng was a good partner because he always made people feel at ease working with him by taking concrete actions.

The meal didn't last long; the assistant and Lin Ting started talking about the chaos that had occurred during the previous schedule arrangements.

"This change was too sudden. It's just that Brother Zhao has finished recording his schedule over there and doesn't have any other plans yet. Otherwise, how could we coordinate in such a short time!" The assistant fiercely stabbed the beef in the bowl with his chopsticks, as if venting his anger.

Zhao Qinfeng yawned. "It's okay. If it really gets to the point where it can't be arranged, there will always be a solution. They say they're in a hurry, but they should actually have some buffer in place. You've done a great job."

"That's right, I'm such a clever person, how could this little thing really stump me?"

Lin Ting smiled to herself, thinking: It seems that Zhao Qinfeng's studio really has a group of very capable staff. Birds of a feather flock together, it seems.

After lunch, Lin Ting said goodbye to them, went back to the hotel for a while, and then went downstairs and got into Hu Ming's car when it was time to leave.

Hu Ming looked refreshed and no longer as listless as he had been when the two first met yesterday.

"Looks like you got a good rest," Lin Ting joked.

Hu Ming chuckled. He had indeed rested well; even his unruly hair was much neater. "How are you? Did you go out for a look this morning?"

Lin Ting nodded, "I saw it. There are many attractions in the city. I visited a few and found them quite interesting."

The hotel wasn't far from Hu Ming's studio, and the two exchanged a few words before arriving.

"We have recording equipment in our studio, so we'll just record here. After everyone finishes recording, we'll have a meeting, and then we'll go out for dinner. I've already made a reservation at the restaurant," Hu Ming said.

Lin Ting nodded, and said in surprise, "I didn't expect you to be such a reliable person."

When he went up, Chang Zhiyuan was already there. He saw Lin Ting, greeted him cheerfully, and then handed him a manuscript.

"Teacher Jinghu, you can go over the lyrics first. Our staff is already setting up the equipment and will assist you with the recording in a bit." Chang Zhiyuan seemed very reliable once he got into work mode.

Lin Ting nodded, found a place to sit down, and began to mutter to himself.

The above is some information about the competition, as well as a brief self-introduction by "Jinghu".

The content was indeed very limited, perhaps because the competition registration instructions and rules were not included with him, making his workload seem minimal.

After Lin Ting finished recording, he and Hu Ming supervised the work outside.

Most of the teachers are used to writing, and their knowledge of recording equipment is limited to having seen it but never used it. Therefore, it is inevitable that they will feel flustered and nervous when recording.

The sound engineer provided guidance step by step, and the teachers recording were also working hard to adapt and learn. The recording progressed slowly but steadily.

"You seem to be quite comfortable with it," Hu Ming said. He had just seen Lin Ting go in very calmly and come out quickly after recording.

"It's all an act. I've never been inside a recording studio," Lin Ting said simply.

Hu Ming asked, "Do you think our competition can be held smoothly?"

Lin Ting thought for a moment and said, "I don't know."

Hu Ming sighed and poked his hair with his finger.

Seeing that he seemed genuinely worried, Lin Ting shared her own thoughts, saying, "Actually, taking this step is already half the battle won. As for whether things will go smoothly in the future, as long as we all work together, we can overcome any difficulties. You are still in the early planning and preparation stage, so there's no need to worry about the execution phase too early."

Hu Ming nodded. "You're right."

The recording went relatively smoothly, and everyone moved to the conference room to begin the meeting.

Although it was called a meeting, the atmosphere wasn't very serious because many things hadn't actually been implemented yet. So everyone was brainstorming to provide some reference for future implementation.

The meeting lasted until six o'clock. Hu Ming and Chang Zhiyuan each drove a car to take them to the restaurant they had booked for dinner.

At the dinner table, everyone ate and chatted, and the atmosphere was much more relaxed than when the meeting had just started.

Someone tentatively asked Lin Ting, "Teacher Jinghu, did you participate in any program last year? You look very familiar, hahaha..."

Lin Ting looked around and realized from the stiff yet curious expressions on everyone's faces that they probably all had their own opinions, it just depended on whether he was willing to lay it all out. If he wasn't willing, then everyone would just pretend to be confused.

Lin Ting readily admitted, "Yes, my real name is Lin Ting. I've always used my real name when writing music reviews. I appeared on a show last year and showed my face, so it's not surprising that people recognized me. However, I don't plan to make this public for the time being, so I hope you can all refrain from spreading this information. Thank you."

"Hahaha, no way, everyone has secrets, we won't tell."

"That's right! I really like your music reviews, Mr. Lin. I never expected to meet you in person today!"

The atmosphere at the dinner table became even more lively, perhaps because of Lin Ting's candor, or perhaps because everyone came with appreciation and respect for each other.

After the meal, Lin Ting felt that he was more familiar with everyone, and the group exchanged contact information.

As the group walked out together, Chang Zhiyuan hesitated for a moment. Reaching the pavilion, he asked, "Sigh, shall I continue to call you Teacher Jinghu? It's a little strange to call someone by their pen name in real life..."

Lin Ting thought it was just a form of address, and as long as the person being addressed knew that they were being addressed, it was fine, so she nodded, "You can call me Jinghu or Lin Ting, it's all the same, it's me anyway."

Hu Ming suddenly exclaimed, "...Long time no see! Are you here to eat too?"

Lin Ting looked in the direction of the sound and saw a familiar figure.
