038: Wen Qiao sells eggs at the counter (2/2)

They call young people "big brother" or "big sister," and older people "uncle" or "aunt."

She's beautiful and has a sweet tongue, so quite a few people flock to her shop.

The excitement never stopped.

Inside the counter, Wang Zhihui and her master stood together eating sunflower seeds.

"That Wen Qiao, she's really something else. And the purchasing department is really something, they can't sell the goods they buy, and they can blame our counter? The purchasing department is doing this themselves, Director Wang really lets them do it."

Wang Zhihui spat as she spoke.

Sister Wang glanced at Wang Zhihui and asked curiously.

"Why are you so hostile towards Wen Qiao? If she's willing to work hard, let her do it. We can still get paid even if we're not doing anything."

Wang Lan has been slacking off at the counter for many years; she's become quite the old hand.

They're not proactive in anything.

But if anyone dares to deduct her salary, she'll definitely be the one making the biggest fuss.

Wang Zhihui pursed her lips.

"She works so hard, but she's still hoping to get a permanent position. Doesn't she realize that a country bumpkin like her can dream of becoming a permanent employee at the supply and marketing cooperative?"

Wang Lan glanced at Wang Zhihui and scoffed inwardly, "Aren't you just a country bumpkin from the countryside too?"

He's just lucky; he has a good uncle who can support him.

In terms of looks and figure, Wang Lan felt that Wang Zhihui was no match for Wen Qiao.

Even if you ran two miles ahead of her, you still couldn't catch up with Wen Qiao.

Wang Lan disliked Wen Qiao, but she disliked Wang Zhihui even more.

She always relied on her powerful uncle, which made the staff at the counter fawn over her.

Don't you even consider who was taking care of her?

They don't even respect their master.

That day, Wen Qiao got off work a little late.

Wang Zhihui leaves on time and disappears early in the morning.

There was someone at the counter who bought something but found a problem and came to return it. Wang Lan was kept waiting and ended up leaving get off work a little later.

Just as I was about to leave, I saw Wen Qiao tidying up the remaining eggs.

If these were eggs sold at their counter, any broken eggs like these would be easily taken by anyone who saw them.

Since it's public property, why not take it home and save money? These good eggs aren't cheap.

Wang Lando stared at it for a few moments.

Wen Qiao took in her greedy thoughts.

"Sister Wang, these remaining eggs are all cracked. If you don't mind, you can pack them in a lunchbox and take them with you."

"You can give this to me?" Wang Lan asked incredulously. "Don't get me into trouble."

Wen Qiao pouted and said, "If Sister Wang doesn't want them, then forget it. Our director originally said that I should deal with the remaining few broken shells myself. I can't finish them all by myself."

"Sister Wang helped me before, so I was thinking of giving it to you, but you don't want it?"

Wen Qiao glanced at Wang Lan as she spoke, then continued making up her story:

"Have you forgotten? On my first day setting up a stall outside, I even borrowed a long bench from you."

That was just something I said offhand.

Borrowing a stool? That was a few days ago.

Moreover, there were many people and things were chaotic at the time, so no one could remember who helped move the tables and chairs.

But one thing is certain: it wasn't Wang Lan who moved the table.

She's not a diligent person at all.

It's clear that Wang Lan actually agreed to Wen Qiao's suggestion.

He chuckled and said shamelessly, "Don't be so polite."

“Although you’re not a formal employee, you work at the supply and marketing cooperative, so we’re colleagues and it’s only right that we help each other out.”

Wen Qiao lifted her up.

"That's right, Sister Wang is an elder."

"It's a pity I don't have such a good mentor. If you were my mentor, I would give you half of my salary. You taught me so well. I saw everything you did and said while standing at the counter. You taught me so diligently..."

Wang Lan was so flattered by Wen Qiao that she almost got carried away.

Compared to her apprentice Wang Zhihui, let alone paying her a salary.

I wouldn't even buy her a White Rabbit milk candy normally.

"Sister Wang, do you want these eggs or not? If you don't want them, I'll keep them. I'm off work now."

"Yes, yes, I want it."

Wang Lan chuckled.

He quickly picked up the few remaining cracked eggs from the bottom of the basket and put them in his lunchbox.

They praised Wen Qiao, saying she was truly hardworking and capable.

He was saying, "If I were Director Li, I would have promoted you to a permanent position."

Wen Qiao smiled without saying a word.
