279: Old Wu's Poisoning (2/2)

They even searched the entire study.

Old Wu was not found.

Lu Yazhi was extremely anxious. Wu Suowei, who was sitting on the sofa eating cookies, saw his worried grandmother and got up to go over to her.

"Grandma, what are you looking for?"

Lu Yazhi said anxiously, "I'm looking for your grandfather. I'm afraid something has happened to him."

Just as Lü Yazhi was getting anxious and upset, she heard Old Wu's energetic voice coming from the doorway.

"Yazhi, I'm here."

Upon hearing the sound, Lü Yazhi immediately looked up.

"Old Wu, where have you been? I was so worried about you. When I got home, there was no one there at all."

Wu Yongliang told the others to go back first. His seemingly steady steps faltered as he walked forward.

Lü Yazhi quickly helped him stand up.

"What's wrong? You don't look well."

"It's nothing, I just felt unwell and went to the hospital. It's probably because I drank alcohol this morning, and my stomach is a little upset."

Lü Yazhi didn't think much of it and helped Old Wu sit down on the sofa.

"Then you rest first, I'll go make you some porridge."

"I was just worried about you, so I rushed back despite Xiao Qiao's attempts to persuade me to stay and have dinner with Xiao Wei at the Shen family's house."

Watching Lü Yazhi busily pouring him water and then rushing to find stomach medicine, Wu Yongliang said, "I'll ask Xiao Qiao to help me find a nanny later, someone young and efficient."

“I told my eldest sister to leave early.”

Lu Yazhi asked, "What happened? Lao Wu, what exactly happened? You didn't tell me anything, and I was so worried about you."

Wu Yongliang didn't refuse to speak; he simply didn't want to, and couldn't.

How embarrassing!

His own daughter actually drugged him to prevent him from having children.

It turned out that this evening, Wu Yongliang was at home and had just asked the nanny to buy some groceries when Wu Xiaoling came to the house with a box of camel milk powder.

They said it was bought through a friend from out of town, and it's very good camel milk powder.

Wu Yongliang felt that his daughter wanted to be filial to her, so he politely invited Wu Xiaoling to stay at his home for dinner.

And he was thinking of easing the tension between Wu Xiaoling and Lü Yazhi.

For Wu Yongliang, his younger daughter was better than his older daughter; at least she could understand his remarriage.

Unexpectedly, Wu Xiaoling added drugs to the camel milk powder she was preparing for Wu Yongliang.

Wu Yongliang initially declined, saying that he was about to have dinner and didn't want to drink camel milk powder before dinner.

Wu Xiaoling said, "This is a gift from me to you. If you don't drink it, then you don't want your daughter's filial piety."

Wu Yongliang has always been cautious, but he never expected to be undone by his own daughter's so-called filial piety.

Not long after he finished drinking, Wu Xiaoling said that she had to go to work the next day and wouldn't be eating at home, and then left.

Wu Yongliang had high blood pressure and was taking medication when he had an allergic reaction to the medicine Wu Xiaoling gave him. He almost went into shock, and in the emergency, he immediately made a phone call.

Wu Yongliang was taken to the hospital in time and had his stomach cleaned. He looks haggard and his spirits are not very good.

As for Wu Xiaoling, Wu Yongliang will personally visit her after he recovers.

He didn't tell Lü Yazhi about this sordid affair because he was afraid she would look down on the Wu family and on him, Wu Yongliang, for failing to raise her properly.

"Yazhi, meeting you is my greatest fortune in this life. I'll be counting on you from now on. Sons and daughters are all worthless."

Just then, Wu Jiandong returned from outside.

"Dad, what's wrong? What happened? My colleague at the hospital told me that you were poisoned and almost died, but luckily you were taken to the hospital in time."

"Poisoned?" Lu Yazhi asked in confusion, "Who poisoned you?"

"Jiandong, what exactly is going on?"
