Regarding the poisoning, Lü Yazhi personally asked Wu Jiandong about it.
He also talked a lot with Wu Jiandong, who said he would not poison his father.
Lu Yazhi felt that Wu Jiandong could not possibly have done this.
But after hearing what Wu Jiandong said, his colleagues at the hospital contacted him and told him about Old Wu's poisoning.
Does Wu Jiandong know something?
Hearing Aunt Lü's question, Wu Jiandong was also confused, then he realized something.
He immediately ran upstairs with a stern face, cursing and shouting:
"Li Sumei, you bitch, if you dare to poison my father, I'll kill you."
Wu Yongliang, sitting on the sofa, was remarkably calm and composed.
He held Lü Yazhi's hand, his calm eyes revealing sorrow and desolation.
He asked Lü Yazhi, "Did you already know they were going to murder me?"
Lü Yazhi looked at Wu Yongliang and said with concern:
"Old Wu, I only found out about this this morning. It was Xiao Wei who overheard something at the door of Jian Dong and his wife's room, talking to me about whether or not there was poisoning."
"I was worried too, so I went to ask Jiandong."
“Jiandong said he didn’t have that thought and wouldn’t dare. I told him that no matter how serious your father is with you, he is still your father, and you can’t have such malicious thoughts.”
“Jiandong listens to what I say. I was thinking that you have a short temper, and if you knew about this, you might get really angry and something bad might happen to you. It’s better to keep it from you.”
Lü Yazhi also knew that at this point, it was no longer possible to keep it a secret.
Her original intention in keeping it a secret from Old Wu was that she was afraid he would get angry if he found out, and that getting angry would harm his health.
But now that Old Wu knows, Lü Yazhi has no need to hide it anymore.
After speaking, Lü Yazhi looked at the silent Old Wu.
She said softly, "Everything I said is true. If you don't believe me, ask Jian Dong when he comes down."
"Old Wu, I married you to build a life together. If I were really scheming against you, you're not stupid or dumb, wouldn't you see through it?"
Wu Yongliang reached out and grasped Lü Yazhi's hand.
"Yazhi, I know, I know you mean well. I just feel like I've raised so many children for nothing. I've raised so many, but it's not as good as the one you raised."
Wu Yongliang never imagined that the person who wanted to harm him was not just his daughter who hadn't grown up by his side.
And then there's the son who's been by his side since childhood, through his studies, work, marriage, and having children—he, as the father, has sacrificed a great deal for him.
Li Sumei had argued with Wu Jiandong that morning and stayed home all day without going downstairs.
When Lü Yazhi returned, she was inside the house.
But Li Sumei felt that Wu Jiandong's argument with her was entirely because of Lü Yazhi, so she didn't respond at all after hearing Lü Yazhi's voice.
This was when Wu Jiandong had just returned and learned that his father had been poisoned. He suspected that Li Sumei had acted impulsively out of resentment and poisoned his father.
Wu Jiandong called to Li Sumei to open the door.
Li Sumei was still angry, and hearing Wu Jiandong's voice made her even angrier. She simply lay on the bed and didn't move, letting Wu Jiandong shout outside the door.
But something doesn't sound right.
When did she drug her father?
Li Sumei jumped out of bed, walked to the door, opened it, and saw Wu Jiandong kicking and punching the door.
