Chapter 300 Bell and Hera
What happened next took less than a minute.
To be precise, it was exactly 27 seconds.
This supreme law.
No one can escape.
However, sometimes things can be quite straightforward—when Sheen crawled out of the hole in the wall, there was only silence, a kind of bewilderment similar to that before a disaster. In any movie or TV show, this is how it always happens before an explosion... So Anru and the others couldn't find the words to describe it; their minds were frantically trying to figure out what it meant, how to avoid a fight, and how to explain it—come on, they'd completely outmaneuvered this woman!
Honestly, the mutual support within the Eoubs circle is quite loose, and besides, this ill-fated couple usually gets very close to the people at the salon—considering that their former employer hasn't changed in recent years, even though Sheen is acting as an investigator—their relationship with America can hardly be described as close. There's a reason why the mental pollution levels of the operatives have been rising over the years.
"I suggest you calm down first." An Ru grabbed Gu Heng, ostensibly trying to dissuade Xi En from acting impulsively, but actually prepared for a fight to the death. "I can give you a reasonable explanation for all of this; we don't need to—"
She choked up a little as she said this, and Sheen was unrealistically afraid that she would burst into tears on the spot.
"I see."
In this situation, Gu Heng appeared very calm. He released An Rushi's hand, stared at Xi En, and simply sighed softly.
"This is the repayment after observation."
"It looks like the nodes within the observation area have completely spiraled out of control."
"This is the retribution I deserve."
Nobody cares who died or who survived.
As long as it's for the "future of all mankind".
That would explain everything.
Thus, the liquidation began.
...
...
"That's really interesting."
"It turns out that Bell Hera is a combination of two people's names."
"I'm such an idiot, I didn't expect this at all, so are you Hera or Bell?"
After burning the two people to a crisp, Sheen turned to look at the girl next to him and began to assess the current situation.
I don't know what this girl went through to get injured like that—but strangely, she seems to have received some kind of treatment, and her body, which was originally broken, is now much better, and she has even slowly sat up.
The newly formed lower body was quite human-like—it even included clothing, making it more like a return of the broken body than a healing process.
Sheen stared at Bell for a while and noticed that the floor beneath the child was a dark color, as if it were soaked in blood but couldn't seep out, so it could only form a dark shadow, as if something malicious might crawl out from inside.
Of course, this is just a metaphor—this isn't the dimly lit shopping mall anymore, where things often happen exactly as you think about them—at the same time, she subconsciously glanced at her feet a few times, what a damn jinx—because she found that the situation was indeed like that, to be precise, even more serious than Bell's.
The area where the two stood was inexplicably a nauseating purplish-blue, like some kind of bruise that was about to heal. The texture of the floor also began to mutate further, like skin; upon closer inspection, the rotten, strange color spread out into seven shadows, each about nine feet long.
Sheen clicked his tongue and then noticed several gaps at the edge of the purplish-blue scar, through which a bit of fleshy red flesh peeked out—it was the tongue.
She walked over and pulled Belle, whose toenails were still growing, from another direction. Although the part of the floor where the child was standing didn't have a tongue or teeth growing out, the parts on her side of the floor were almost touching her.
“Dear Dean,” she said, looking at the girl who was much smaller than she remembered, her tone playful, “so… what do we need to do next?”
The man didn't speak at first, but just looked up at her—his eyes were somewhat blank, as if he had mistaken her for someone else, as if he couldn't recognize her at all.
But then a familiar calculation returned to him, and Bell said, "Sheen Connelly?"
"Yes, it seems you share memories." Thank goodness, Sheen breathed a sigh of relief. She really didn't want to get to know another troubled girl; that would be incredibly torturous.
But Belle didn't feel relieved or at ease by her answer. She came to her senses, as if she had been walking in the darkness for too long and couldn't turn back for the time being—she just looked at Sheehan's face, her pupils like a chaotic, muddy abyss, and many unknown crazy pasts.
"You shouldn't be here."
"Wrong... This isn't the kind of storyline we should be having at this point in the story."
"You also killed An Rushi and Gu Heng. They died too young, at least not at this time."
Bell said to Sheen, staring intently into her eyes. For a moment, the girl looked exactly like a teenage girl, her expression sorrowful and desperate, unusually miserable—it was chilling.
“You absolutely cannot be here, you will ruin everything.”
After Bell finished speaking, she suddenly raised her hand to touch her chest. Sheen felt a little uncomfortable and quickly took a few steps back, grabbing her wrist.
This person's heart was beating very fast. She wasn't quite sure why, but she had a strange feeling—Bell was about to do something, and the consequences would be extremely terrifying. If she got her way, something incredibly outrageous might happen next—she couldn't be bothered to think about whether it would actually happen, or what it would be if it did. The situation was bad enough as it was, and there was no need to stir up trouble.
“Bell.” Sheen paused, then continued, “Nothing can kill me. I will protect you.”
The man kept staring into her eyes, looking at her for a long time, his expression like that of an artificial intelligence rapidly calculating data—searching for the most correct answer.
Seeing the look in the other person's eyes, Sheen added, "You trust me, okay?"
“No, not like that. I do believe in all of you…” Bell shook his head and said, “But you are someone who shouldn’t be here. From now on, everything we do will not be recorded by the Laws of Fate.”
"In other words, the outline has been completely altered."
"Big sister, you are indeed much more clear-headed than Hera, but I don't understand a word of what you're saying." Sheen had a bit of a headache; they had really reached the part he hated most—the no-prize quiz.
So why are you here?
Bell asked again.
"That issue is not important at all. What we need to discuss now is what to do next."
The other person fell silent, as if deep in thought, looking at her with a solemn expression.
Sheen had no choice but to emphasize again, "I don't know what grudge you have against Hera, but no matter what... we have to get out of here first, do you understand what I mean?"
