Chapter 154 Ultimate Cheat Guardian (Gong) x Chosen Working-Class Colorist (Shou) 15

Shu Bai looked at Li Yuheng floating in front of him. The other party slightly raised his chin, looking smug.

He suddenly blew a gentle breath on Li Yuheng's face.

Li Yuheng was taken aback. "What are you doing?"

"What's wrong with blowing on it? I see you have some dust on your face."

Li Yuheng squinted, letting the slightly cool breath dissipate on his cheek: "This guardian deity is spotless, where would dust come from? I think you're just trying to get my attention."

"...You're overthinking it. There's no dust, I just thought you looked tired floating around, so I blew some fairy breath to liven things up."

"Oh. Would you like to blow another puff? I don't mind getting a little more of your 'fairy aura.' But just so you know, that will cost money."

Come on, doesn't he know his own wife?

All they do all day is spout nonsense.

He truly deserves to be called the Pure Color Master.

He could see clearly that beneath Shu Bai's feigned indifference, her eyelashes trembled like an electric toothbrush.

What gray, what entertainment—it's all just an excuse.

Li Yuheng is very confident.

This person is clearly doing it on purpose, using this aloof and distant manner to try and get a kiss.

Who's in favor?! Who's against?!

Those who agree will receive 10,000 flowers from the male lead.

For those who disagree, the male protagonist deserves a billion eggs as a reward.

Upon hearing this, Shu Bai's expression remained unchanged: "I'm very poor. I can't afford it. I have to save the money to buy you potato chips."

But before he finished speaking, he gently blew a breath at Li Yuheng.

Li Yuheng raised an eyebrow: "...Still blowing? Try blowing it again?"

Shu Bai blew another puff.

As soon as he breathed a sigh of relief, Li Yuheng's eyes darkened, and he lowered his head to capture his lips.

Shu Bai froze, his pupils contracted, and he stood there stunned.

Li Yuheng touched her and immediately separated, drifting half a foot away, and licked his lips triumphantly: "A breath, a kiss. Fair trade."

Shu Bai slowly raised her hand, touched her lower lip with her fingertips, and looked at Li Yuheng with a complicated expression.

"...Li Yuheng".

"Um?"

"You really are..."

"Really what?"

"Disrespectful to elders."

Li Yuheng crossed his arms and smirked as he retorted, "This is called following the will of the people. Your mouth is flashing like a kissing signal light, how can I ignore it?"

"...Following your logic, if I sneeze, are you supposed to give me CPR?"

"That depends on the situation. If you deliberately sneeze at me, that's considered an attempt to scam me."

Shu Bai was speechless for two seconds after being choked by his twisted logic, and finally shook his head and sighed: "The skin of today's young gods is thicker than the old tea cake that Shu Huaijin has kept hidden for thirty years."

"You flatter me." Li Yuheng hooked his earring with his fingertip. "After all, a guardian deity's configuration must have some outstanding qualities."

"..."

Shu Bai returned to the old house; it was nearly dusk.

He did not mention the details of Qin Ren's request to his grandparents, only saying that it was a normal "fake sex attack" consultation.

After dinner, he returned to his room, and Li Yuheng's phantom immediately emerged from the ring, lazily hanging in mid-air.

"Well, Master of Purification, what brilliant ideas do you have for the next step?" Li Yuheng raised an eyebrow. "You didn't actually believe that kid's flawed story, did you?"

Shu Bai slowly sat down at the desk and turned on the computer.

"The story is fake, but the emotions are real. I can still tell the difference between acting and reality. No matter how confused his memory is, the fear deep in his bones cannot be faked."

His fingers tapped slowly on the keyboard as he began to track the transfer account and WeChat ID provided by Qin Ren.

"Let's look at these obvious clues first."

Li Yuheng floated behind him, rested her chin on his shoulder, and watched him operate.

"You've even incorporated technology? You're quite the modern color remover."

"You're never too old to learn, and any tool will do." Shu Bai's tone carried a calm acceptance of life's experiences.

The results came back quickly, consistent with the police investigation: the account was an overseas shell company with multiple layers of redirection, and the funds had been completely dispersed; the WeChat account was cancelled on the day Qin Ren was admitted to the hospital, as if it had never existed.

Shu Bai closed the page and pondered for a moment: "Qin Ren said the security camera at the store entrance has been broken for a long time."

Li Yuheng sneered: "You've been wicked at just the right time."

"Yes, what a coincidence," Shu Bai replied, closing his eyes and gently pressing his fingertips against his temples.

A faint fluctuation of spiritual energy, perceptible only to Li Yuheng, quietly spread out from him.

This is a unique tracking technique of the Pure Color Master. By relying on brief contact with the client and the strong emotional residue from that contact, the Pure Color Master can reverse the perception to find the vague location of the person whose fate is closely intertwined with theirs.

Li Yuheng quieted down and watched with great interest.

A few minutes later, Shu Bai opened his eyes, a look of understanding flashing in them.

“Found her. The woman named ‘Qi An’ is currently in an old apartment complex in the west of the city. Her breathing is very weak, she seems to be injured, and… she is showing strong signs of fear.”

"So now you're going to notify that 'poor' Boss Qin and go arrest him together?"

"No." Shu Bai closed her laptop, her tone resolute. "I'll go by myself tomorrow."

Li Yuheng: "What? You're finally starting to doubt your client?"

“It’s not suspicion, it’s caution. Qin Ren’s emotions and memory are clearly problematic. We can’t alert him before the truth comes out. I need to hear Qi An’s side of the story first.”

Li Yuheng chuckled softly, his voice tinged with a hint of mockery: "Alright, it's good that you know what's going on. Anyway, I think that kid surnamed Qin isn't far from going completely insane. Tomorrow will be quite a show."

After Shu Bai finished washing up, changed into soft pajamas, and lay down in bed, Li Yuheng's phantom was floating at the head of the bed, looking with interest at the old-fashioned Walkman he had placed beside his pillow.

"You're still using this old relic?" Li Yuheng pointed with his finger. "You don't have 'The Peony Pavilion' in there, do you?"

"Listen to it occasionally, it helps me fall asleep." Shu Bai said with her eyes closed, her voice tinged with weariness.

Li Yuheng gave a soft hum, and his figure transformed into a streak of light as he entered the Walkman.

A moment later, the tender Kunqu opera singing was replaced by a lazy and casual jazz tune, which flowed slowly in the night.

“This one is more suitable for the bedtime atmosphere.” Li Yuheng’s voice carried a hint of pride.

Shu Bai didn't even lift his eyelids: "Whatever. You're the guardian angel, you're the boss."

Li Yuheng wasn't satisfied with just floating around. His illusory figure drew closer, almost touching Shu Bai's face, and a cool breath brushed against his nose: "Hey, really asleep? Won't you 'blow some fairy breath to liven things up'?"

Shu Bai suddenly opened his eyes, his gaze now devoid of any sleepiness.

Before Li Yuheng could react, Shu Bai raised his hand, grabbed the back of his phantom's neck, and pulled it downwards with a slight force. At the same time, he tilted his head back and precisely sealed Li Yuheng's smugly curled lips with his own.

The jazz music was still playing lazily, which made the only sound in this space the subtle murmur of lips and teeth touching.

Shu Bai's kisses were haphazard yet forceful, as if she wanted to block out and crush all of his teasing, smugness, and flirtatious advances.

When the kiss ended, Shu Bai pulled away slightly, his breathing a little erratic, but he looked at Li Yuheng's unusually stunned expression:

"That's what you call a kiss. Got it, young guardian?"

Li Yuheng's illusory image rippled a few times before slowly focusing.

He licked the corner of his lips, his eyes as deep as unyielding ink, within which surged a flame that had been completely ignited.

“Shu Bai…” His voice was low and hoarse, with a dangerous pleasure in it, “You’re finished.”

Before he finished speaking, he suddenly leaned down and pressed Shu Bai heavily onto the soft bed.

The jazz music playing on my Walkman came on with an impromptu saxophone solo, languid and ambiguous, swirling in the deepening spring night.
