Chapter 3 If you won't eat, then I will. tushumi.cc

Just as Li Yuheng and Shu Bai were glaring at each other, about to start fighting again.

A golden retriever that looked quite old, with somewhat dull fur, strolled over at a leisurely pace.

He was clearly drawn there by the sounds of the fight and the lingering smell of the sausages.

The old golden retriever first looked at Shu Bai, then at Li Yuheng, and finally his gaze landed precisely on the two lonely pieces of sausage on the ground.

He stepped forward very naturally, with a kind of elder-like gentleness, and asked:

Aren't you going to eat?

Li Yuheng and Shu Bai were both stunned, before either of them could react and speak.

In the blink of an eye, the golden-haired old dog bowed its head with a speed completely out of character for its age.

With two quick bites, he snatched the two pieces of sausage from the ground and swallowed them whole.

The entire process was smooth and quick, taking no more than three seconds.

After finishing his meal, he licked his lips with a lingering satisfaction, then looked at the two completely petrified individuals involved:

"Then I'll eat it. Thank you. Young people are so hot-tempered, they don't know how to appreciate good things."

Li Yuheng: "…………"

Shu Bai: "…………"

Li Yuheng watched helplessly as his grilled sausage was swallowed whole in two bites by an old dog that appeared out of nowhere.

He felt that the string of reason in his mind had snapped completely.

A certain sharp and precise attacking instinct seemed to have suddenly opened up its meridians and burst forth from the ground.

Li Yuheng suddenly turned his head, his gaze shooting towards the old golden retriever that was still smacking its lips in remembrance.

"Thank you? Thank you for what? Thank you for being old? Thank you for being shameless? Or thank you for your disrespect for elders, for even arguing that you're right to steal food?"

He paused, scanned the old golden retriever's fur from head to toe—a fur that was somewhat dull and rough due to age and neglect—and added insult to injury:

"Judging from your appearance, you must have relied on that 'honest' face to scam people out of food and drink when you were young, right? You've only managed to pick up leftovers at this age. You're really something else."

The old golden retriever's kind expression froze instantly on his face, his mouth still slightly open as he held the sausage in his mouth.

He seemed completely taken aback that this seemingly silly little beagle could say such a thing.

Li Yuheng, however, seemed to have flipped a switch, and all his pent-up anger was directed at this old man who had run into the line of fire:

"What are you pretending to be innocent for? Weren't you quite quick and efficient when you were grabbing food? You've got so much age to burn, haven't you?"

The old golden retriever's face turned pale and then red, and he stubbornly tried to retort, "How dare you, a junior, speak like that..."

"You think it sounds awful?" Li Yuheng scoffed. "Fine, spit out the sausage, and I'll use a nicer word to coax you."

He took a step forward, and although he was smaller than the golden retriever, his aura completely overwhelmed the other: "If you can't spit it out, then shut up. You've already taken it, and you expect me to praise your teeth?"

The old golden retriever was speechless after being rebuked, its ears drooping, and it slunk out of the alley with its tail between its legs.

Li Yuheng then felt a little better, as the tightness in his chest eased.

He turned his head and found that Shu Bai was still standing there, staring at him with an indescribable look.

"What are you looking at?" Li Yuheng flicked his ear in annoyance. "Haven't you had enough?"

Shu Bai was silent for a moment, then suddenly spoke: "You weren't like this just now."

"What?"

"You were acting all silly the time you bumped into me," Shu Bai said, squinting. "But you're quite talkative now."

Li Yuheng shook his still-bleeding ear and sneered, "You were in a good mood before, but now you're in a bad mood. What, you want to try it too?"

Shu Bai stared at him for a few seconds, then suddenly hunched over: "You think I'm afraid of you?"

"Whether you're afraid or not is your business." Li Yuheng took a step closer. "But I'm very hungry, very annoyed, and I really want to fight."

"What a coincidence, I'm annoyed too. Especially when I see your stupid face."

Li Yuheng scoffed: "At least I have a face, unlike some cats whose face and butt are the same color."

Its sparse white fur bristled instantly: "Say that again?"

"What, can't you tell black from white? Need me to help you identify colors?" Li Yuheng tilted his head deliberately. "Or have you even forgotten what you look like?"

"It's still better than you." Shu Bai gritted his teeth. "You're covered in scraggly hair and look as ugly as a faded rag."

"Even a color-fading rag is better than yours; at least I have a variety of colors."

Shu Bai lunged forward, slashing at Li Yuheng's nose with a claw: "Shut up!"

Li Yuheng nimbly jumped back to dodge: "If you can't win an argument, you resort to violence? Are all cats this tasteless?"

"There's no point in reasoning with a stupid dog like you."

"Yeah, after all, some cats can't even understand dog language. If I hadn't used a little trick, you'd still be meowing right now."

Shu Bai paused, his eyes growing even more dangerous: "What did you do to me?"

Could this stupid dog be a dog demon?

Tsk... Heaven is blind.

"Just so you can understand what I'm saying." Li Yuheng flicked his tail nonchalantly, "So you won't always go crazy for no reason."

"Who cares if you bark like a dog? Change back right now!"

"No way." Li Yuheng deliberately provoked him, "I'm going to make you hear it every day."

"you--!"

"What do you mean, 'you'?" Li Yuheng interrupted him. "If you're so capable, solve it yourself. If you can't solve it, then shut up here. It's so noisy."

He was certain that this cat demon, who couldn't even transform into human form yet, couldn't possibly break his spell.

Shu Bai stared intently at him, a low growl escaping her throat.

Li Yuheng glared back defiantly: "What are you looking at? Look again and you'll be charged, half a sausage for every glance."

"...I've never seen a dog more annoying than you."

“Likewise.” Li Yuheng pouted. “You’re also the most annoying cat I’ve ever met.”

The two glared at each other angrily.

In the end, Shu Bai was the first to look away, letting out a cold snort: "I can't be bothered to argue with you."

"It's not like I want to talk to you." Li Yuheng turned his head. "Seeing you brings me bad luck."

Shu Bai jumped onto the wall, leaving behind the words, "I hope this is the last time I see you."

"I should be the one saying that," Li Yuheng shouted at his retreating figure. "Goodbye, no, never see you again!"

"...Alright, everyone, that's all for today's live stream~ Thank you all for the gifts~ Love you all~ Muah~ Remember to follow and like! See you next time~"

On the low wall next to it.

Li Yuheng and several other stray dogs lay in a row, their heads all looking towards an open space not far from the wall.

There, a clean-cut, well-mannered young man was holding his phone, with several cat bowls filled with cat food and canned food in front of him.

The man gave a gentle smile to the phone camera and ended the live stream.

Several well-fed, shiny cats rubbed affectionately against his trouser leg.

On the wall, a yellow dog clicked its tongue enviously: "Tsk, he comes every day, without fail. How can this man treat a cat so well?"

A spotted dog nearby sighed, "Exactly. Look at those cats, they eat better than us. Why isn't there anyone who streams themselves feeding the dogs?"

Li Yuheng scoffed, his dog-like face full of disdain: "Envious? If you're envious, go wag your tails in front of the camera and see if anyone will give you bones."

The yellow dog retorted, "We cats never pretend to be well-behaved! Look at their affected manner, it's disgusting."

“If you’re not capable, don’t blame others for being good at getting things done.” Li Yuheng said mercilessly, “At least they know how to please people, but what about you? All you do is grin and drool.”

The spotted dog muttered, "But you can't just feed the cats and not the dogs, that's too biased."

"Favoritism?" Li Yuheng glanced at it sideways. "There are so many good things in this world, should they all be given to you first? Who do you think you are? You have such a big face."

A few words silenced the other two dogs, who then sullenly jumped off the wall and left.
