Chapter 7: Why don't I move out even though we're divorced?

Chapter 7: Why don't I move out even though we're divorced?

After breakfast, they went out together.

Sang Qian followed the man out, then looked down and carefully checked the divorce documents again.

Just as I was engrossed in reading, my head suddenly slammed into a hard chest.

She hissed and looked up, meeting the man's deep black eyes.

Why did you stop without saying a word?

"Sang Qian, are you sure you really want a divorce?"

Jin Changyu looked at her, "Have you thought it through? Once we step out of this door, we'll..."

"I'm sure."

Sang Qian firmly interrupted him.

Jin Changyu's breathing became slightly heavy. "No regrets?"

No regrets.

Why is this man, who is usually a man of his word, being so long-winded today?

"Don't worry, after we get divorced, I will definitely not bother you. You don't need to keep confirming with me."

Sang Qian looked up at the man who was much taller than her. "Can we go now?"

Jin Changyu pursed his lips into a straight line, stopped speaking, and turned to walk out the door with a sullen face.

Gao Ze, who had been waiting by the car, saw them come out and his gaze fell on the two of them.

When Gao Ze received a call from Jin Changyu last night asking him to draft a divorce agreement, he thought he had misheard.

They are such a perfect match.

Mr. Jin even rushed back the night before last to buy his wife a gift, so why is he suddenly getting a divorce?

As he was pondering this, the person was already in front of him. Gao Ze quickly snapped out of his daze, stepped forward, and respectfully said:

"Mr. Jin, Mrs. Jin, good morning."

Sang Qian nodded politely, "Good morning, Assistant Gao."

Gao Ze stepped forward and opened the back door for the two of them.

After thanking him, Sang Qian got into the car, and Jin Changyu followed closely behind and got in.

After the car started moving, Gao Ze, who was sitting in the passenger seat, handed a document to Jin Changyu.

"Mr. Jin, here are the things you requested."

Jin Changyu took the document, glanced at the words "Divorce Agreement" on it, and then handed it to Sang Qian beside him, saying, "Take a look and see if there's anything you need to add."

Unexpectedly, he drafted a divorce agreement. Sang Qian was taken aback, looked up at the man, and then took it and opened it.

Upon seeing the contents, she stared in astonishment, "You're giving me 5% of the Jin Group's shares?"

So generous?

"This wedding apartment in Royal Bay is also yours. Take a look at the other details, and feel free to mention anything else you want..."

"I don't want these."

Jin Changyu, who was interrupted, looked at her in surprise and frowned. "You're going to leave with nothing?"

"What are you thinking about?" Sang Qian handed the agreement back to him.

"What I mean is, I don't want the shares or Royal Bay, just give them to me in cash."

After the divorce, she didn't want anything to do with him.

Especially the marital home that bears traces of shared life.

Jin Changyu looked at her and asked, "Do you know that with these shares, you can earn a considerable income just from the group's annual dividends?"

This is the capital that can ensure her a comfortable life for the rest of her life.

"Cashing out is the most devaluing way to profit," he reminded her.

"I know."

Sang Qian insisted, "But I only want cash."

Moreover, even if these assets are discounted, they would still amount to a considerable sum.

Jin Changyu didn't understand what she was thinking, but he still respected her wishes.

"what ever."

He handed the agreement to Gao Ze and asked him to handle it.

Half an hour later, they arrived at the Civil Affairs Bureau.

The divorce application process went smoothly, and the two soon emerged from the Civil Affairs Bureau.

The man walking beside her hadn't said much from the moment he went in until he came out. If Sang Qian hadn't known that he was a man of few words, she would have even suspected that he was reluctant to leave the marriage.

Once outside, Sang Qian stopped and turned to look at him. "Once the cooling-off period is over, we can get our divorce certificate."

A month later, their marriage officially ended.

In the sunlight, she smiled at the silent man and said gracefully, "Jin Changyu, I wish you a happy and fulfilling marriage in the future."

Jin Changyu looked at her, remained silent for a while, and then replied, "I wish you happiness too."

Sang Qian took a deep breath. "Yes."

Jin Changyu glanced at her and said, "Before we get the divorce certificate, I hope that our marital status will remain the same and not be made public."

As the head of the Jin Group, his change in marital status could affect the company's reputation and stock price. Their divorce was sudden, and he does need time to process it.

Sang Qian can understand this.

"Can."

She didn't want to cause any unnecessary commotion over a divorce.

Glancing at Gao Ze, who was anxiously checking his time every now and then by the car, Sang Qian knew that President Jin's time was always precious, so she said,

"If there's nothing else, I'll be going now."

Jin Changyu: "I'll have the driver take you home first."

"No need to trouble yourself, I'll just take a taxi."

After finishing her sentence, Sang Qian turned and left.

Jin Changyu stood there watching her back, his eyes dark and unfathomable.

Only after he saw her get into a taxi by the roadside did he lower his gaze, turn away, and walk away.

Jin Changyu, who is usually very efficient and meticulous at work, was unusually distracted during his work today.

During the meeting, I couldn't hear a thing the person giving the report was saying.

I sit in the office looking at documents for ages and can't understand a single word.

Not in the mood for the dinner party that evening, she simply asked Gao Ze to cancel it.

This is the first time I've felt that time at the company is so long and unbearable.

Jin Changyu left work before six o'clock.

When he got home, he saw Aunt Li, whose eyes were red and swollen, rushing over as soon as he entered the door.

"Sir, are you really going to divorce your wife?"

"..."

Jin Changyu corrected, "It was she who wanted a divorce from me."

He glanced inside. "Where is she?"

Aunt Li looked sad. "Madam moved out of here today."

Jin Changyu paused in his steps, then turned sharply to look at Aunt Li. "She moved away?"

"Yes, Madam had someone come and move all her things away today."

Jin Changyu turned around with a sullen face and strode upstairs.

Pushing open the bedroom door, the first thing I noticed was that the wedding photo in front of the bed was gone.

?

He paused for a moment, then strode to the bedside table, pulled open the largest drawer, and found it empty; the wedding dress album that had been inside was gone.

Jin Changyu's forehead veins throbbed twice.

Looking around, he noticed that all her skincare products on the dressing table had been taken away, and when he went to the dressing room, he found only his clothes there.

There was no trace of the woman's life left in the room.

*

Sang Qian had just finished decorating her little home and sat down to catch her breath when Jin Changyu called.

"Mr. Jin, is there something you need?"

After hearing "Mr. Jin," there was a noticeable pause before the other end spoke, "Didn't we agree this morning to keep the marriage as it is? What do you mean by moving out?"

"Why don't I move out now that we're divorced?"

Sang Qian said, "This morning I only promised not to announce the divorce to the public."

Jin Changyu choked up.

"What about the wedding photos? You took them all with you?"

"Oh, this," Sang Qian said. "I've already had it taken care of."

A slightly surprised voice came from the other end, "What do you mean by 'deal with'?"

"It was destroyed."

The man on the other end of the phone sounded a little unsteady on his feet. "You destroyed the wedding photos without consulting me?"
